Someone told me I would enjoy it, 'give it a try' they said. Why not, I had no other plans for the summer, an 18-30's rep it was. Now before I start this I am going to have to say sorry to my mother, sister and girlfriend as I am sure you will not want to be reading this. OK let's go. So apparently we wouldn't be getting drunk nor would we be encouraging people to get off their faces, what do you think happened? Let's put it this way I ended up going to the beach twice in seven months. The wildest, craziest, drunkest and sluttest time of my life (sorry to my girlfriend, mum and sister for this whole section as you might not want to hear all this). Our job was to make sure people were having a good time which normally meant drinking and people getting naked. Now some people may think that a holiday rep in the summer is an amazing job, I nearly quit in the first month. I have never been a fan of heat and lying on a beach and then there was the work. Wowl at the beginning it was hard and lots of work, winter was a walk in the park compared to this. I did stick it out, one because of another rep telling me I could do it (she was extremely hot, I can say that as she is my girlfriend now, but that is a long story) and two, the promise of the season getting better with less work. Things got better, way better. The season kicked off where three reps had to run bar crawls for around two to three hundred crazy, drunk and super horny guests. Now when you see these new programmes on television at the moment it shows the guys being the worst ones. I am going to put this straight, girls are so much worse. Let's just say no morals. If you have seen 'Is Harry on the Boat' think this and then think more, if you haven't seen it then its not a bad watch. I lived with another guy and we used to go out every night even if we weren't working. Well we were both young ish, free and single and oh yeah and we never paid for a drink all season, result. Now I can remember and not remember this season, it was truly a mad one. Girls used to put their room keys in my pocket and whisper to me that they would see me later. I would pull girls that wouldn't look twice at me in the UK just because I was wearing a reps t-shirt. I can not explain how many girls we could get, things where super easy and we didn't care about anything else. Looking back now I feel a bit ashamed at what we used to be like. I actually met my girlfriend there but didn't really want a girlfriend at the time and I will never live it down that she said I broke her heart every time she saw me with other girls. At the time I didn't care, life was easy and good. Now of course you always come out of seasons with a few stories and this was a bit different as i've got LOADS of stories. I will not bore you too much, so some highlights will have to do. Being spiked and waking up with flash backs of rolling down a hill, running on a motorway and having cuts and bruises all over my face and arms, telling everyone on a bar crawl to crawl to the next bar (yes crawl, all 200 of them), some crazy dance moves, foam parties, drinking games, fat frogs, many girls and an epic sky dive. Now one story does always pop up in my mind and this is how I became a parent. One very hungover morning my room mate and girlfriend to be decided to wash our hangovers away with a shopping trip. Afterwards we came home, put all the shopping in a corner and went to bed (we did this quite a lot). Once we woke we went through our goodies and found some strange polystyrene boxes. As we opened them I started to have flashbacks of us in a pet shop saying 'why don't we buy terrapins'. Bingo. Three terrapins were looking up at us as the lid came off. Winston, Treacle and Squirt were our little babies and we looked after them all season. Kids don't go out shopping whilst you are still drunk. PS, they are still alive today living in a hotel. It was a great season, it really was but I was so ready for winter. I told myself I would never do a summer like that again, it nearly killed me.
