He’d get there-- eventually. Whatever part of Stefan might have been a little.. hesitant in coming face to face with any single one of the people within the crowd that would know him in an instant numbed by the decidedly human intoxication that steadily warmed his veins. “Ten bucks says the guy in the back pocketing the silverware gets his fingers broken.” He said, amusement evident, “I’ve got it on good authority one of the brides best friends can be a little..” Perfect. “Pedantic, about events like this.”

modern fashion is so… dull. the gorgon skipped a dress this time and went for black suit and a white button down shirt with a more or less plunging neck line. the heels she went with were killer. a red rose tucked into the pocket of the suit. that’s it. simple as can be. “cheers my friend.” because tonight while she’s pounding back shots of liquid courage as she waited for sidney, anyone could be her friend. tonight was for celebrations after all. TOMORROW… well tomorrow was a new day but for tonight she could be decent. 

really, he knew it was about time he sought his brother and new bride out, but Stefan had always been -- and still continued to be far too accustomed to observing. old habits died hard, that and he knew they were likely already getting far more attention than either of them wanted, as much obvious by nimble fingers that never truly strayed all that far from the other. So, another drink, he’d not said no to one since he’d clawed his way out of a casket. “Is this a drinking to drink kind of thing,” the tilt of his chin towards the row of empty shot glasses turning the corner of his lip upwards. “or the ye’ old coping mechanism that doesn’t actually work?”

in all honesty the banshee was slightly tipsy ,  wandering into a wedding she wasn’t invited to simply for the free booze had been a plan she hadn’t made —- but maybe it was better than being at home . at least she could pretend she wasn’t alone in a crowd full of people . though it was having the exact opposite effect , and she was trying her utmost best to keep a smile that wouldn’t falter on rouged lips . emeralds scan to the presence beside her . “ beautiful service , huh ?  even more incredible drinks . the whole thing kinda almost makes me re-evaluate my stand point on how true love doesn’t exist . ”

He didn’t disagree, couldn’t disagree. If he knew anything -- and he liked to believe he knew far too much, about the woman who no doubt helped in the planning of the wedding, his wife wouldn’t have settled for anything but the best for his brother and Elena. “If you knew either of them well enough, they’d pretty quickly convince you that it does.” Difficult not to when the shifting worlds of both of them had quickly sought to intertwine in ways that shaped both of them into something..-- better.

A strange sentiment, that she didn’t feel in the slightest; the choice to be here was far more to escape boredom than it was to play some loving role of supportive family. But alas the only ticking clock seemed to be the one set on the competition of who’d win the shiny prize of being the first to try something (oh she definitely had bets on who it’d be).

“Expected?” Stefan imagined a great many things were expected of those converging among those invited to his brother’s wedding, certainly not all of them could be easily chalked up to nice, but he held his tongue and instead simply shrugged. “If you’re not here to light the place up,” his head tilted in consideration of that fact -- too many people he didn’t know, too many he felt he should have. “I’d say you’re a step ahead of the curve and could be excused from any sense of obligatory kindness,” but since it was Damon and Elena’s wedding, he drew sharpened breath, slowly through his teeth, “but, it wouldn’t really kill you to make one.. -- teensy nice comment?”

            “ah, i’m sorry.” peyton said softly, quickly scotting herself from the spot. “was i your way? i just needed to get some air, ya know?” the place was large and beautiful but also so noisy and crowded— and it could be a good thing but. but it was easy to get overwhelmed. 

He’s completely certain that most wouldn’t see his idea of attendance as anything but odd; a choice he’d made to stick to the shadows one only made as not to draw the attention of the people he loved away from his brother -- or Elena. The conscious choice made well before he’d even heard the news or that any of them were in San Francisco too. “Not in the way, don’t let me stop you” he gestured lightly with his hand, “Is it weddings or crowds? I always thought they should both be higher up on the list of peoples phobias than they are.”

Sipping on a champagne flute as she leaned hopelessly on the bar (trying to avoid her family who seemed to be flocking to the wedding, she was not ready for a full-blown family reunion) watching Damon and Elena interacting with each other and so in love, the original couldn’t help but feel a small twinge of jealousy. She had been dreaming of her wedding day for over a thousand years but she had yet to even find love true enough for that. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it,” she questioned the presence that stopped beside her without moving her eyes from the happy couple. “The love those two share is quite envious.”

It’d been a, swallow your pride thing, when he’d thought to suck back what was left of his whiskey and approach Rebekah. Whatever intention he’d held in steering clear from anyone he might very well have known so well wouldn’t truly last long, but perhaps she’d hold her tongue on the matter until he was ready to seek his own brother out. “-- Never picked you for the wedding type,” mocking humor latching his low timbre as he spoke, knowing that Rebekah Mikaelson would easily fit the mold of lover of love, at least, once people broke through the ice like layer.

Everything in TVD is canon -- unless anything with current muns of other characters have changed some stuff, in which case this is TBC. 

Has actually been back for about a month now, unbeknownst to anyone, unless someone would like to plot that out maybe a WC?

the only real game changer... --- the longer he’s back, the more he’s starting to hate being human again is lowkey considering finding a way to strip his blood of the cure
