Yes, but afterwards in the same stream, Ant Ward and Russ Carney cleared up the misunderstanding.

Ron Corcillo, Ant and Russ made it very clear that even if the show HAD continued, none of the brothers nor April were planned to have significant others. The focus of Rise was always about family, and they wanted to avoid the shipping wars/drama that came with 2012.

That said? As a shameless OCxCanon shipper myself, you can SHIP WHAT YOU WANT - just don’t force your ship into being canon, learn to block ships you don’t like, and don’t attack others for what they ship.
