“I should of known you’d find me here.” Shock shakes her head as she glances up from the money she’s counting. She quickly pockets the money to hide it and turns to better face the younger man. Whenever she found herself near Atlantis Beach she always ran into Stan. At first it was annoying and she’d tried chasing him off. But now it was more amusing then anything else. It helped that he’d yet to get in her way or give her reason to want him gone. In fact she’d started to find him rather funny company.

“You know Stan if I didn’t know better I’d think you were stalking me.” She grins at him knowing full well he’s not but not missing the opportunity to mess with him. “Or do you just have a knack for finding trouble when it wonders into your part of town?”

╰ · ☾ › STAN FROZE IN place like a deer in headlights when shock spoke out to him. when he spotted her in his part of town, he thought he’d try to sneak up on her, a feat he’d yet to get away with. ❝ man, heck it all, ❞ he mumbled, snapping his fingers in a u-motion, shoulders slumped. ❝ well, to be fair, you are on my territory, ❞ the boy said, motioning around him like he owned atlantis beach. he paused for a second, thinking about his answer before replying, ❝ i don’t think i find trouble. i think trouble finds me. kinda like the thug life, ya know ?? anyways, what brings you to my neck of the woods ?? how did i get so lucky as to run into your wonderfully creepy self on this fine day ?? ❞

╰ · ☾ › PERRIE’S GIGGLES BROUGHT an immediate smile on stan’s face, feeling victorious that his hat trick worked and made her laugh. ❝ oh, i look good, do i ?? ❞ he said dramatically, wriggling his eyebrows at her. ❝ i definitely feel better now that you said that. ❞ stitch knew full well his efforts to flirt with perrie were fruitless, but he enjoyed trying nonetheless.

A small squeal of surprise left her lips as she was squished against the other. She didn’t need to be this close to a person to see eye to eye with them, to be honest. But as long as her cheek was pushed against his shoulder and her little nose was just as scrunched up, there was no way for her to let out the comments of complaint. Once Stan put her down, her breath of relief was followed with a giggle. “I weirdly do.” Tins nodded in agreement, barely noticing anymore when one of the dudes called her dude. “Call it experience, if you’d like.” One could say, after all, that Tinsley had a teeny tiny bit of a limited attention span herself. “I’d be the same if my hair got undone, you know. It happens during class sometimes and I used to try and blow the locks that escaped out of my face but before you know it, the person in front of you asks if you can turn off the windmill and then you retort ‘at least my mill doesn’t produce water while it works’ which is a solid comeback but not worth the extra assignment, I’m telling you.” Resting her hand on his shoulder, she (and her rant) came to a halt and tilted her head to check out the boy’s hat. “I’d say it looks good now. I mean, I can’t recall if you usually wear it to the front or to the back but I suppose that only depends on where you’re off to, not who you’re with.”

╰ · ☾ › STAN NODDED ALONG as tinsley ranted, though he couldn’t deny that he got somewhat lost in the middle. maybe the hat wasn’t working after all ?? no, that couldn’t be it... maybe it was just tins. luckily, stan didn’t mind, and he continued to pretend to know exactly what she was talking about. ❝ definitely a solid comeback, ❞ he replied, lifting his clenched hand to go in for a fist bump to congratulate her. ❝ i don’t think i have a normally, to be honest with you. i just wear it however it feels like it needs to be worn on a given day, ❞ he explained, gripping the bill of his cap to adjust the fitting on his head. ❝ speaking of where to be off to, where are we going ?? ❞ stitch only just realized they’d been walking together with what seemed like no destination.

“I uh - I -” he paused when he was interrupted. Hiro wasn’t good at holding thoughts; his thought process was more like a stream of consciousness, but there was no point in rambling anymore. He could tell the other boy wasn’t listening. When the boy grabbed a baseball cap and slipped it on casually, Hiro’s heart jumped. You’d think that by now he could see a stupid hat and be fine; but usually he wasn’t. “I was um…” he sighed, giving up all hope in the conversation. What was he even talking about anyway? “Whatever, it doesn’t matter, man. I forgot.”

╰ · ☾ › STAN NODDED IN understanding, knowing all to well what it was like to totally forget what he was talking about. stan didn’t, however, realize the effect his hat had on hiro. ❝ no worries, dude, happens to me all the time. the way i see it is, if it was important, i’d remember, ya know ?? anyways, are you doing anything for the rest of the day ?? i have this new idea for a way to contact aliens, but i think i’ll need your help. ❞ it wasn’t uncommon for stitch to ask his smarter friends for help building contraptions to prove alien life exists somewhere, and hiro was definitely one of the smartest.

Blinking in response, it was as if the words weren’t sinking into her mind, which… They weren’t. How could anyone think baseball caps enhanced a look? There were so many better alternatives, and she couldn’t fathom why that was so hard to understand. “For clout?” She parroted, mirth laced through her words. “I don’t think baseball caps have ever earned anyone clout.”Subconsciously taking a step back at the question, she instantly shook her head, causing blonde curls to bounce around her shoulders. “Thank you for the offer, but no. I spent way too long making my hair look perfect to ruin it with a hat. I’d have to disown myself if I put a hat on today and… I’m not sure how that would work, so it’s best avoided.”

EVERY PERSON i know who has clout definitely wears baseball caps. or just any hat in general. ” stan wondered how she didn’t know about all the cool people on instagram who he’s seen wear hats before. “ i bet we don’t follow the same people on instagram. what do your favorite cool people do for clout ?? ” he was actually very interested in her answer - he’d never met anyone who looked so prim and proper and well put together. it dawned on him that they were totally different people, and then his thoughts ran wild. before he got too lost in them, though, her next statement brought him back down to earth. “ why did you do that ?? ” he asked, genuinely. he wondered if she did it because she had something important planned or not. either way, he couldn’t relate.

I-” For a split second, her breath was caught in her throat when his finger came dangerously close to her face. But with a deadpan expression, she looked past it and continued complaining, “You can’t put me on hold in real life!” Tinsley’s protest was futile and she felt she was losing the battle so she crossed her arms over her chest and impatiently waited her turn. Once she realized this was all about some hat, she was this close to losing it and couldn’t hide it under her attitude. “What an accomplishment. Truly. Wait- you haven’t been listening to me this whole time?!” And with the same exasperation as her mum used to call on her to end her hour-long tantrums, Tinsley dragged out his name. “Staaaan.”

╰ · ☾ › STAN COULDN’T HELP but chuckle at the situation now that it was over. maybe it wasn’t the best idea to cut someone off just to put on a hat. but in his defense, something was definitely off, and it was causing him to lose all focus. “ tiiiiiins, ” the boy mocked, gripping her into a bear hug and spinning her around. once he set her down, he began to explain himself. “ i’m sorry, that was my bad, dude. i really wanna listen, but i just couldn’t because something was BLOCKING my concentration, and it turns out that this hat like, blocks the block, so it cancels out, ” stan told her, using big hand gestures to help explain his predicament. “ you get it right ?? ”
