Days 11-15 for this project done!!
I am very happy with how this project is progressing and we officially have changed colours (yay). However, once again, the switch is between 2 basically indistinguishable colours so believe me on that one...
Stats-wise we are at:
- 5362 crosses stitched
- 17h 47m of work
- 20.9% completion
- 2 colours used

Days 6-10 done!!!
Soo, we are now at 3,524 stitches done which brings us to 13.7% completion on the project, and I have spent 11h 51m working on it
In other news, I have been stirching a lot as a way to empty my head while working on my master's dissertation which I am almost done with (thank god 😃🔫)
(Also I had a little helper on day 8 which did not make stitching harder... love her)
I have officially started my new cross stitch project so here are days 1-5!
For this project, I will be tracking the time i work it each day as well as the number of stitches i did so for this first stretch I worked 6h53 and stitched a total of 2025 crosses (7.9% of the project)
Also, I will NOT get caught again miscounting my spaces and having to undo an ungodly amount of stitches so taking the time to trace 10x10 squares is a lifesaver... cant always get away with being lazy
For anyone wondering, the illustration is from the Dragon Age Keep for the DAI quest What Pride Had Wrought (more specifically the "side with Abelas and the guardians" option)
I AM OFFICIALLY DONE!!!
Here is the final result of the Solas Cross-stitch project (and my first big size project in general)
So it took:
- 73 days
- 38 colours
- 25,800 stitches
- work in 2 countries
It was definitely motivating to be posting updates here since I tend to lose interest and start a lot of things without finishing them so thanks for that!
I will be starting to set up for my next project which I will be timing so I have a number of hours worked by the end of it.

The rest of the vest is done and can be seen on my page, but I absolutely love this shot of just the deer from a couple months ago so I wanted to dedicate a post to it.
Days 66-70 done!!!
We are officially down to our last 10 colours with the largest amount of stitches for one being 196 so Im guessing I will probably be done with the project by the next update.
I will try to get a nice picture of the finished project in natural lighting when it is done as the yellowish light doesn't do it justice quite right

For anyone wondering I have picked my next project and gotten the colours I need (hopefully enough 🤞) and it will be the Dragon Age Keep illustration for the quest What Pride Had Wrought in DAI. I just love the contrast and colours in the illustration.

In other unrelated news, I went out to see the Odyssey today and am curious to hear opinions on it as I am quite torn between the directing which I loved and the writing which I liked a lot less (solid 3.5-4/5 for me)
Update on my family watching the pitt:
My father's slightly laid off on santos early in season 2 (theyre on ep 5), nice
HOWEVER he's replaced it by becoming a al-hashimi hater which will simply not stand in this household. This is hell.

Really loving how this has been coming along and we are so close to the finish line. I only have 20 colours left with less than 300 stitches each so it should be pretty fast. Im just really proud of myself for sticking to that project since I've been known to leave stuff halfway done and never coming back to it 😅
I received my thread for my next project today so I'm excited to move on to that once this is done.

It's really nice switching colours often, I'm not necessarily doing more than before but it feels like it (like reading a book with short chapters)
Also, we officially have a face!! Yay for Solas.
So I have been starting to think about my next cross-stitch project and I have narrowed it down to three options all from the Dragon Age Keep with a similar size to my current Solas project.
I do have a slightly hard time making a choice, although I have time before I'm done with what I'm doing right now. Here are the options:

Days 51-55 done!!
I light just stop naming all of the colour switches in the posts bc I cannot remember the names of those I did this time around. The only name I remember is the blue being named "Green Grey - Medium" bc what..?
I really enjoyed working on the background in the middle as it was the first 2 light colours on this project and finally having some contrast was really nice and easy to distinguish.
Just 30 colours left on this one ! (I'm going to have to start thinking about what to do next - i am open to suggestions)
Oh god, I finally made my parents watch the Pitt and my father's being insufferable about Santos... kill me pls
He's been glazing langdon so hard I cant wait for ep 10
Days 46-50 done 💕
This time I finished the colour i was doing, then I started Coffee Brown - Ultra Dark, finished it, and today I started Beaver Grey - Ultra Dark.
With all of the colours now being under 1000 stitches, I am looking forward to switching colours often.
(Did not get a lot done on day 46 bc my hometown rugby team was playing its championship final and i was STRESSED out (but we won so all good))
Days 41-45 done!!
We have officially moved onto our 4th colour (Pewter Gray - Very Dark) with 1700 stitches of it to do (although im down to around 600 now.
It's been so fricking hot guys like 40°c everyday 😭😭 I'm dying over here.
Done with days 36-40!!!
Im still working on the Olive Green-Black but I only have about 1000 stitches left so I should be done with it soon!
Particular highlight this time was day 38 as I got to work on the project while watching my hometown rugby team absolutely wreck another on tv.
Days 31-35 complete!
We have changed colour again!!!! We've moved on to Olive Green-Black which is visible in real life but once again barely shows up on camera (gotta zoom for it)
We have started with 3900 stitches but it is now down to somewhere around 2500 🎉
Days 26-30 complete!
After 10 days of working on the black-brown portion of the pattern were are left with about 670 stitches left to do (out of the 4661 total) so great progress!!
