“It’s not worth it. Seriously.. It’s really not. And I’m something of an authority on grudges.”

She was clearly stalling for time, hoping that her friend had somehow managed to get away from whoever the heck this was.

“So don’t.”

“Something of an authority...Really my dear ?” he asked, an eyebrow raised and his arms crossed over his chest. “Because now you got me curious.” A little smug grin appeared on his face.

“How many grudges you do hold to make you an authority about it ?”

“How is my favorite blond human doing these days. Hope you didn’t miss me too much ?” ((stolen-sorcery))

“Forgive me if I don’t burst into tears at the relief of seeing you again.”

“You won’t ? Oh princess you hurt me. Here I thought you missed me. Maybe I should have left a better impression.”

“Let’s see… you bust my head wide open, threaten my sister, and then have the fucking gall to flirt with me.”

“Why yes I did ! I’m so glad you still remembered. Isn’t that how you make big impressions on people. Well atleast I must have done a pretty good job on fixing that hole in your head.”

“Don’t deny it tho. You liked the flirts.”

Flustered and embarrassed, August mustered an arm to smack the mage across the face, looking very annoyed.

“You are a smarmy prick, and coming from someone who had to deal with Hyperion bootlickers, that’s saying something.”

The smack across his face shouldn’t have been a surprise. But yet, Mimic wad caught off guard by it. Slowly turning his face back to August, a red hand print visible on his cheek, he smirked.

“Nice hit...” He commented “I must admit. That did hurt. Well more then you words did.” He chuckled.

“Really !? REALLY !? Making bets. You are so childish...”

“I guess that’s… one thing to remember. But that itself does not define me as a person. What I am best known for is that I’m a killer. Also, I love driving people over the edge.”

Mimic raised one eyebrow as the other told him what he should have remembered instead. “Listen young man. Ofcourse I know that my own little statement doesn’t define you. I just remembered you because you are the few tolerable people on this planet.”

A grin slowly appeared on his face. “Driving people over the edge is my favorite past time as well.”

You seem to be more reckless than brave, cause obviously you don’t know who I am” Blackheart said, his voice dripping with venom. “Even when Elisa has fallen for me … I won’t corrupt her. Not as long as she doesn’t want it”

His eyes flashed up red. “And now. Back off, before it’s gonna be ugly”

Blackheart had enough with this rude and extremly annoying spirit. With a growl his skin turned anthracite and his eyes glowing red. “You don’t know what it’s called, huh? Poor little spirit. Maybe you can guess what brought us together…”

“Do you think I don’t know her fear? Of course I know it that she’s afraid I could corrupt her with all the darkness I bear in me. That’s the risk of our love, you know?” He growled at him again. “And basically I told her that would never change her as long as she doesn’t allow it”

A grin sneaked onto his face. “You know, Mimic, I still have some tricks up my sleeve you don’t know. And if you really try to attack her, I will pull it. But then … this will be your end”

Mimic rolled his eyes in disgust. “Please don’t tell me ‘faith brought us together’ or ‘love’ because I don’t believe any of that nonsense.” He answered, his own body slowly glowing a bright blue. Two could play that game…

The sorcerer couldn’t help but chuckle “As long as little Elisa doesn’t allow it. But the poor little girl doesn’t want you to think she’s not good enough. So afraid she might lose someone who stole her heart.” making a sad face and blinking his eyes a couple times, only to burst out into a mad cackle.

“Oh I am sure you have some tricks up your sleeve. But so do I. Once way or another, I will get my revenge on that girl and the rest of her pathetic family.”

“Enough!” Blackheart yelled angry. Under Mimic shadows started to rise. “You dare to threat me? Do you even know who I am …” He approached him, close enough for the wavering shadows around him to grasp after the other man. “I bear the pure darkness in me, so careful with that tongue of yours”

He growled. “And now I would better scram, before I get angry and erase you from this world”

What was this, this weird feeling. He hadn’t felt it for years. But right now he was actually scared. This demon wasn’t going to forgive him for what he said. He looked down to see the shadows creep up from underneath him. His own tricks being used against him, didn’t make him feel any better.

He took a deep breath before he spoke again. “Alright good sir. You win this round. I will scram. But you haven’t seen the last of me.” He stated calmly as he started to dissapear. “But...Just one thing. Don’t show this side to Elisa. That pure darkness will freak her out.” And with that he had faded away.

“And you really think I am the right one to speak to? Really?” Blackheart raised a brow, but laughed. “You think I would give you a body so you could dare to touch Elisa when I’m not around her? Oh no. If you want a new body, ask my brother Greylight. But I don’t think he will help you”

His chirpy attitude vanished. “How stupid do you think I am?”

Oh he was not having this. Here he thought he might have a chance to finally get back to the land of the living. Only to be laughed at. “I can’t believe this. Here I am, finally being honest here. Make a promise I would keep. But no...Ofcourse not...” He sneered. “What kind of spell did she use on you ?”

His eye twitched. How in the hell did she manage to find someone like him !? “Just know that I will find away...You can’t protect her every single day. You know why ?” A smug grin on his face “Because she’s scared of you. Scared that you might try and change her mind. That you might pull her into that darkness that reminds her of how I used to haunt her. And if you don’t believe me. Ask her, oh powerfull king of hell.”

At this point Mimic had turned back into his specter form. Maybe he pushed it a bit too far. Raising his hands to try and show he wasn’t going to say anything else.

“Alright alright. You seem very angry right now.” He commented “But I wil just say, I know this girl longer then you do my lord. But you know, I could share some information about her that might be usefull for your ‘relationship’ with her.” Mimic offered, trying to calm the other down.

Blackheart took a deep breath and looked at the sorcerer again. “What information do you think could be useful for me in connection with her?” Tho he was intrigued he didn’t really want to believe the other man, knowing how much Elisa feared him.

“Well as the person who kinda lived in her body for a while, I might know a thing or two.” He answered. Maybe he could make a deal with him. The king of hell might be able to get him into a new body of his own.

“I know what she enjoys, where she works, things she dislikes. I can tell you everything. If…If you would do something for me as well.”

“You want to make a deal with me? Are you sure? Because I hope you know what a deal with me does mean for you” The demonic lord warned him. “But let hear what you have to say”

“All I want is a body. A new one. Mine is sadly destroyed about...300 years ago ? If you would be able to give me one. I in return will tell you all the things I know about Elisa. And. I will leave her alone.” Mimic offered.

“Believe me. Anything is better then my...’life’...right now. I don’t really care what kind of contract I sign at this point. I want to be alive again. I want to rebuild what I lost.”

His face dropped again as she spoke about having no regrets about this friendship. “I know this girl because her ancestor was the one who killed me…And let’s just say…I still hold a grudge.”

“You know? There’s a word of caution about being bitter. I should know, I’m as bitter as they can be sometimes. But.. come on, man. Her ancestor may have killed you but she directly didn’t. So just drop the beef.. leave her be.”

“I don’t mind being a bitter old man. But sadly I would love to ‘drop the beef.’ But I won’t. That family took everything from me. And I wanted to take everything from them.”

“Those are some very kind words sir.” He replied a smug grin on his face. “Oh but I know enough of you to know that I don’t want to piss you off too much.” Sure, Mimic was usually very confident in his abilities. But even he knew that this demon was way more powerfull then him.

He couldn’t help but snort about his comments about the girl he hated so much. “Oh please. I can tell you that she fell for you. And pretty hard. She is so confused by it. It’s a great laugh to be honest.”

Blackheart instantly turned around when the other man decided to keep speaking instead of backing off like he had told him. “For the fact you don’t wanna piss me off, you’re walking on thin ice, very thin”

He growled, showing angrily his demonic teeth. “Elisa is under my personal protection, so if you dare to lay a finger on her be sure I’ll hunt you down” His anger was rising. There was nothing he hated more than people approaching him without any warning, let alone them being also magical.

“Her heart will choose the right path”

He would be lying if he wasn’t enjoying this just a little. Making a powerfull demon loose his composure, how could he not enjoy that. A devilish grin appeared on his face. “Oh I like being on thin ice. Makes everything a little more fun. I need to keep myself entertained somehow. Being dead is just the biggest bore.” Mimic commented.

The grin never faded from his face, even when Blackheart showed off his demonic features. “Personal protection ? Isn’t that kind of you. I mean that girl clearly needs protection...Such a weak child...As for her choosing the right path. I don’t think she knows if she’s doing the right thing with you.”

“So...You are friends with that...Girl...I feel bad for you my dear.” ((stolen-sorcery))

“And you.. sound like a bit of a trouble maker. Because I for one do not regret being her friend. And may I ask how you know Elisa?”
