I didn't hate NATLA as much as most people, but one thing I am really sad about is the handling of Jet's storyline. He would never shrug his shoulders at refugees starving, the whole reason he recruits Zuko is to 'liberate some food' for everyone, not just himself. I also feel like his hatred for the fire nation wasn't given any context - his story and flashbacks are some of the darkest in the og series. He represents the people who can't forgive, the people whose sense of identity is intrinsically tied to the war.

it was always painfully obvious who “girl, so confusing” was about when brat first came out in 2024 but i think the most niche clue we got was charli referencing lorde’s lyrics from 2013.

like the whole “oh people make memes and joke about how we look alike and have the same hair” is a straight giveaway but i like the parallels between these two songs in particular… idk i just REALLY like it! it’s some of my favourite lyrics ever ngl.
