analysing my final stop motion
Over viewing my final piece for the protest/revolt project I am satisfied and feel as though it meets the aims of what I set myself at the start of my development and planning process.
The main aim of the advert was to have an influence on young children's opinions on whaling, to encourage them to develop a view on this topic that would ultimately result in them supporting whaling in the future and eventually as an adult take action with this.
Looking at the stop motion I have chosen the length to be 31 seconds, this keeps the attention of the audience without them losing interest. I have altered the voice over to be in a storytelling theme and slightly more dramatic, I think this is an improvement from the last but still could be developed more to make the advert more rounded. It meets the ages around 5 - 12 for a target audience by the manner and tone of the voice over, also that the clay whale figures are quite basic and uncomplicated getting the message across clearly. The gloomy type of shadow that is current around each frame sets a nice feel to the piece that suits the aesthetics of trying to intimidate and scare the children.
If I was going to take the ‘keep whaling’ advert further I would like to create a whole campaign for this. I would look into designing a web page, posters and even a information booklet.
