“That’s the gym, that’s a different story.” Vera shot back, rolling her eyes at him for the nth time of the night. She wasn’t sure why Pat wanted to be shirtless in front of her friends but she did have a clue in mind. He’s seen some of her friends before and that somehow gave her the idea that maybe Pat likes one of her girl friends. And that kind of stung her in the heart. “Are you trying to show off to one of my friends? Is it Rachel? I told you her breasts aren’t that big. You can keep it in your pants, Pat.” Actually, she was scared that Pat would respond to her statement because honestly, she wasn’t sure how to react if he admitted he likes one of her friends. How could he like them more than her, the girl whom he sees almost 24/7?
Shaking her head, Vera gave him a small smile. “No, it’s fine. They’re leaving before midnight so if you’re still awake by then, we can move stuff in. But if you’ll be too tired by then, we can just do it tomorrow.” If she completely had a choice, she would ditch her friends so she can move furniture with Pat but then, she promised her friends a night of being girly since she’s cancelled on them twice already for Patrick. Something Patrick doesn’t know and doesn’t need to know anymore. “Lady friends?” She asked, giggling at his term, wondering if he was trying to catch him if she’s invited guys as well. Shrugging her shoulder, Vera decided to just lean back on her seat. “I’m still not sure if who’s or how many are coming over. I hope I have enough chips and wine here.”
The very fact that Vera thought that he wanted to have his shirt off for one of her friends, let alone Rachel who -albeit was attractive - made im chuckle. He wanted to keep his shirt off not only because he was more comfortable that way, but also to tease her. He liked knowing that he had some sort of affect on her. “It’s not because of Rachel, it’s because I like having my shirt off” He replied simply, shrugging a little. He hated that she thought that he might like her friend over her, because that couldn’t be farther from the truth. “But, if you’re going to be so uptight about it, then I’ll keep a shirt on, okay?” He mused with a devilish grin, holding up his hands as a way to show her he had given in.
“If I’m not awake at midnight there’s something drastically wrong with me, the last time I was asleep at midnight I was thirteen and had a killer flu.” He mused, before looking at their surroundings. “Maybe tomorrow would be better, but if you want we can hang out after your friends are gone, if they haven’t tuckered you out that is.” He replied with a simple shrug, hoping deep down that she would take the bait and want to hang out with him. e would understand if she didn’t want to though, being around a group of people could be tiring.
“If you don’t I can always go grab you some...Or we could just go together now, depending on when the crew are coming.” e offered with a laugh.
