"My physical body started breaking the night I left. In my sleep. So did my mom's and other matured Sky Salvos in my family cause our powers overwhelmed our bodies. So the Oracles came and took us to the Sky Country to repair our bodies" Deidre remarked. "Which with all the women there was going to take weeks. Without a physical body we were laid into a deep slumber until our bodies were fully repaired. When I woke up I thought I was home in the bed until they explained everything. But long story short I'll be going through mutations for a while... Like puberty all over again"

“Going to hate what? being called Gramps?” he raises an eyebrow, chuckling as he wiggles Emma’s foot before nodding to Elliot. “That’s right, Daddy’s little soldier.” he grins, kissing the top of Elliot’s head.

“Yes. Especially by his daughter’s fiance” Deidre pointed out handing off Elliot to Wally. “I guess you’ll be carrying both of them since they want to be up under you” Deidre pouted before going to get her father’s presents”

“He’s a grampa, if the old git can’t get over it, screw him” He frowns. “He’s a grampa whether he likes it or not, plus, I’m not going to call him ‘Jun’ when I’m talking to the twins, that’ll just confuse them” He kisses both of their foreheads, balancing their weight. “Remember, it’s Dick’s birthday too, I’ll have to go and see him after Dinner”

“He won’t liked to be called Gramps. Makes him feel old the same way Granny makes my Mom feel old. Grandpa is different” Deidre said nodding. “Let’s just go already. I’m happy to go see my Daddy today”

“Da” Elliot pouted,pushing his face away.

“Don’t like kisses my little soldier?” he asks, kissing his face all over, laughing.

“Aren’t you going to take one of them?” he cocks his head and rolls his eyes “Grampa is no different from Gramps. I just think your family are picky.” He laughs again.

"They have to agree on something. And feeling old is one of them" Deidre chuckled. "They want to be held by you" she said. "And one of them will try to take the bow of my Dad's present."

Elliot continued pushing his father's face away. "Da...Buu" he kicked his feet.

It was winter and way too cold to leave the tights off.

“Well who’s daddy’s pretty little baby girl?”

“Are we just going to be wearing red today?” Deidre asked. “Well it is my dad’s favorite color” she pointed out as Elliot kicked his little feet at her rapidly. “You just don’t want to get dressed do you? You don’t want to go out into the cold?”

It was more than likely that indeed. Whenever they took the twins outside Elliot would start whining. Emma wasn’t that bad compared to he was. After a while she had Elliot dressed. “Handsome little man” he ripped off his shoes and tossed them. “Why must you be so difficult with me?”

He only said Ma in reply.

Emma giggled and clapped her hand.

Wally holds his face close to Emma and she just grabs locks of his hair, he pulls away and she giggles. He beams and pulls her up, sitting her on his hip. Wally rocks back and forth, moving some of her fiery red curls, kissing her forehead once more. “daddy’s baby girl” He coos,blowing raspberries at her. “Come on, little soldier, we gotta go see gramps”

“You know my Dad is going to hate that” Deidre said. “At least he won’t be that upset like my mom gets. You know I don’t think I’ve ever told you about the sky diving game she plays have I?” she picked up Elliot shoes and put them back on. “Keep them on”

“Da” Elliot held out his arms..

His eyes widened and he grins quite happily, drawing her to him to kiss her. “Well, doesn’t that sound lovely” he laughs and nods. “I’m sure he’ll have fun with that”

“But forget I just told you that so it can be a surprise” Deidre grinned as she wrapped her arms around him. “Oh my dad loves medallions and rings. My mom gets him some every year”

He beams still, nuzzling her cheek with his nose, rubbing small circles in the small of her back. “Do you want to get the twins ready to go?”

“You can dress up Emma since Sunday’s are your day. I’ll get Elliot dressed” Deidre said heading towards the twins’ room. She found Elliot standing in the crib. “Hey baby~” she kissed his cheek.

Ria has to be okay. Meera has to be okay. Every day is just another reminder, the bed so big without her, it’s too cold, there’s no comfortable warmth. The stars aren’t helping anymore, they used to, not anymore. The neon green glow just makes him yearn for someone he knows wont be back at the snap of his fingers.

“I’m sure they’re fine”

“She’s going to back before you know it” Deidre said. “She’s like a lost sock. You keep looking and looking for it and you’re like hey were the hell did my sock go? And then you stop looking and then it appears. And you’re like Hey sock. There you go. I missed you and love you. Now my socks can be whole again cause I found my missing match”

“I really do’t mean to sound rude, Deidre, but I’m sure none of your missing socks have ever bee pregnant…twice…and lost the first baby due to the second socks sock mother….” His eyes are hard, frosty even. The analogy is harsh and uncaring and just makes him want to be alone. Alone he can deal with his thoughts. Whereas around people they try and tell him the right things but they always just sound very…wrong to him…well…unless it’s Thane, who told him he kept charms on Meera.

“Gee way to ruin my attempt to cheer you up.” Deidre crossed her eyes. “I mean think about it. The red string of fate connects you both. She has to be okay. Soulmates are just connected by a pinky. If something were to happen you’d know automatically. But something hasn’t and you worry. It only means she’s okay and you’re worried about what could happen. Which is really just the paranoia and fear.” Deidre said.

He does make to apologize, though he’s cut off by her continuing. The red string of fate? Kaiden’s head cocks to the side and he nods. “you’re right, I’m sorry, I should not worry” That analogy he much prefers, the sock may help if he was talking to a child who’d lost their favourite toy…but Kai’s lost a bit more than that.

"You have every right to worry. It's natural. Don't think of me saying that as you're not allowed to be worried. I'm just saying. That string is connected by fated on your pinky. Nothing can tamper with it" Deidre chuckled. "Nothing at all"

“He’s talking now?” Kaiden cocked his head, leaning down to pet the pup, laughing as he licks his palm. His forced smile did’t fee so forced but he had this down, had had it down since he was 5 years old. “As you should, you and Wally are clearly doing an amazing job”

“I couldn’t do any of this without Wally…” Deidre said softly before putting a hand on his shoulder. “How are you holding up Kai?” she asked softly,this was probably a sore subject for Kai. And she felt bad for bringing it up”

At the question Kaiden takes a sharp intake of breath and repeats to Deidre what he’s been telling himself for over a month.

“She’ll be back. She promised” But it was evident, not only in his voice, but in his eyes as well, that he was beginning to question it, he was beginning to wonder.

Flakey just falls over himself, not all that bad to look after, he’s lovely though, I do love him. The pup licks his face again and Kaiden grins. “She’s adorable” kaiden says, still smiling quite happily.

“She’s hyper as any puppy would probably be. She doesn’t have a problem with strangers though.” Deidre said. “And the twins love her to death. Emma always tries to ride her like a horse for some reason”

He nods, allowing the pup to run around his feet, pawing at his legs. “The twins” he nods, though some of the light dying in his eyes, babies….Kai shook his head and forced a smile. “How are they?”

“They’re doing great. Elliot learned how to say Ma and Da. Emma’s making noises but she’s not talking yet. She’s learning how to stand as well.” Deidre chuckled. “I’m so proud of them”
