The Kul Tiran Tidehound is a massive working dog bred along the coasts of Kul Tiras. Originally kept by fishermen, ferrymen, lighthouse keepers, and shipwright families, these dogs are famous for diving into icy waters to rescue drowning sailors.

They are especially common in Tiragarde Sound, where harbor families train them from puppyhood to respond to bells and whistles. They also are trained to retrieve fishing nets and help pull wayward boats back to shore.

Among old Kul Tiran sailors, there is a saying: “If the sea takes ye, pray there’s a Tidehound near.”

I wish we had more dog breeds readily available to us in the game with lore! So, as a writing exercise I decided I’m going to do a small series devoted to converting dog breeds into Azeroth! To start things off we have the Newfoundland.

Vulpera! A beautiful huntress with a feathered bow.

This fox has super-detailed armor - I'll make a separate post to show you it in all its glory. Sculpting the clothes (as well as painting them) took a lot of time, but it was worth it.

I really like the expression on her face. It's so cute and harmless - it doesn't match the fact that she is holding a bow and arrow at the ready, about to shoot. By the way, the bow and arrows are removable (she also has spare arrows!). Handmade of polymer clay, air-dry clay, painted with acrylic colors and coated with a protective matte lacquer. Most of my Loque'Nahaks aren’t exactly canonical. They’re made in my style: white, with black paws and four toes on each paw. But sometimes I’m asked to make a sculpture that’s closer to the in-game model. This Loque'Nahak is one of those cases.
