yall have obviously not. interacted with an actual fifteen year old recently and are gathering your information on teenagers based off of media like riverdale and teen wolf where these ages are portrayed by fully developed, grown adults ranging from 22 to literally 32. ACTUAL fifteen year olds are. so small. they’re so fucking little. i’m eighteen, i was more recently fifteen than most of the people i follow. they aren’t sexually mature. they’re still kids. i live in new york where the age of consent is seventeen, and let me tell you THAT is still too fucking young. eighteen isn’t the perfect age, either, but, sure, people mature at different paces, but you can’t exactly write laws around that variable!!!. but let me tell you, the age of consent WASN’T set to contain the minors. it’s so creepy adults couldn’t sexualize them legally, and for good fucking reason. teenagers, while horny, sure, aren’t mature. they shouldn’t be shipped with a fully grown fucking adult. during their most impressionable years. are you fucking kidding me???? of course i’m going to think you’re a creep if you think this is okay.

if you think it’s okay for a fully grown adult to be in a romantic or sexual relationship with minors i am automatically not going to trust you. because i feel like that says something about you as a person, and i don’t want to associate with that. i dont fucking care if i’m ship shaming or whatever, or if you use “fiction doesn’t equal reality” as a shield, because you don’t write smut about sexual things that you aren’t into. like how i would never write the “daddy” kink, or scat fetishes or things like that. because I PERSONALLY think they’re gross. not to kinkshame those people, because as long as you (and your characters) are both consenting adults, do whatever you want as long as you aren’t hurting someone else. writers, as adults, should be aware enough to know that shipping a fully grown adult with a minor is gross. even writing two minors together in smut is gross.
