It feels odd wandering into a nondescript city after so tying up loose ends for so long in the bigger worlds that remain fresh in the minds of, well, everyone. Everyone with access to books and tech and any other manner of storytelling. But a change is nice. It means something new, something exciting, something they won't have to control word by word. It's easier to work now when the expectations are just not there.

Atsuko had scampered out, waiting in the hall for him to follow and grabbing her all too fluffy tail. It was almost as big as her body, actually…
"Very old." Her voice cut short, unused to speaking. "Atsuko is old as mama. Mama is ancient." The girl’s ears twitched and she looked down the hall, apparently hearing something and she moved in that direction. "Follow Atsuko!"
The smile faltered at her unexpected response, a puzzled expression taking over the nephilim’s features. It was odd enough with the ears and tail— but for her to be much older than her appearance let on?
Lips parted in reply, but by then, she had gone off without him, the twin immediately following.
"And where is it we’re going?"
"Looking for Sert!" She chirruped, continuing down and skidding around the corner. She just about bashed into the wall, but her tail softened the blow and she was off again until she collided into a pair of legs that had been coming down that same hall
"Atsuko, why are you running around?"
"Apologies to the king!" She'd run into a young teen, stack of books in one arm and clumsily trying to fix the hair pin holding his bangs away from his eyes. He looked too young for the title of king, and his hair was stark white but perhaps his looks were just as deceiving as Atsuko's.
"Hm. Apology accepted but even if you're on a mission you shouldn't be running around like that, right?" He smiled slightly and looked up at the man, that smile quickly vanishing in an instant. "You must be Vergil, correct? The one that Cyra has taken such an interest in."
"Wait for the day. Train. Explore. Learn what you can and use it to your advantage." The boy smiled up at him. "The possibilities are unlimited, if you’re creative about it. Our library is open to visitors as well and I’m more than happy to answer any other questions."
"Unless we get some sorta mini invasion like that thing last week," the girl reminded him. "That was a pain in the ass."
Vergil was honestly about to stomp off in frustration when he heard a library mentioned. That… might be good.
"A library, you say?" he questioned and visibly relaxed. He wouldn’t mind a nice, calming read. It wasn’t like he had anything else to do.
"Yes. I'd be more than happy to lead you to it. Kala, stay here with the others in case there's trouble." The girl pouted as her brother stood up without her. She wasn't too pleased at being left there alone.
"Oh, rude! Leaving your precious sister to babysit everyone while you get to go lead around a guest!" She huffed and turned her head away. "I'm never talking to you again."
"I'll be back in a little while, don't do anything stupid while I'm gone." The girl seemed adamant on not speaking to him so he just sighed and moved towards the tall doors, pushing one open and looking back at Vergil expectantly. "Are you coming?"

"There aren’t any towns on this world, I’m sorry to say." The boy really did sound sincere in his words and he quickly raised a hand to his twin’s mouth to keep her from speaking. "There are settlements but they don’t speak English and they’re hostile at the moment. This place here, this mansion, we’re currently the only ‘friendlies’ you’ll find."
Vergil could almost feel a blood vessel bursting somewhere in his head. He was going to choke someone. “….You’ve got to be kidding,” he hissed under his breath. Just where in the HELL was he?!
"Ugh… then how do I get OUT of this world?" he asked, eyes narrowed in frustration as his foot tapped impatiently.
"Easy!" Kana’s voice was muffled but she managed to get her brother to remove his hand after a quick lick (and a sound of disgust from them both). "You take the portals in the hanger! Er, I don’t think they’re open right now though."
"I believe… they’ll be opened up within a few hours, but if not, then the most is a day’s wait. You won’t be missing much."
Vergil wished someone would come along and stab him in the face. If he had to wait an entire day with these two he was going to kill himself. “Lovely,” he muttered under his breath.
"Then what am I supposed to do in the mean time?"

Once the woman gave her a nod and smile, her eyes focused again on Vergil and she stepped out from behind the woman. “Atsuko, please take Vergil to the weapons room and then to the library. Sert needs to be fetched.” The girl nodded slowly in understand, cautiously walking past Vergil and pushing at the door, though she was unable to open it herself. “Vergil, take care of her and she will take care of you.”
Though the fox ears caught the nephilim off guard, surprise was quickly wiped from his features, the normally neutral expression appearing once more. By now, Vergil had witnessed many odd things, and frankly, fox ears didn’t seem to be quite shocking in comparison to other things.
Noticing Atsuko’s hesitance, he brushed it off— she was merely a child; still growing, assuming from her height.
Digits gently pulled open the door, allowing the other to go first. Casting one last glance at Cyra, he offered a hint of a smile before shutting the door behind him.
"—How old are you?"

Vergil felt his eye twitching as he clenched his fist. “That’s not what I meant,” he nearly hissed. “I need to know which was the nearest town is. I don’t want to wander the wilderness for ages!”

Lexi is easily affected by scents so aromatherapy tends to do the trick. Hanging around in the trees is a best second. She's like a monkey, really.
Kana has an icebox sort of room that she unwinds in and curls up for naps in. Being cold is her favorite thing in the world.

Lexi just wants to do nothing at all. Really. Days of laziness are really appealing to her since she can just laze around in the trees and flower beds.
The same goes for Kana. She, on a daily basis, sorts books, sorts out Storm before he can attack people, keeps the young'uns on a leash, sets training regimens, advises the young king in his work and other stuff that keeps her running around.

Lexi has a boyfriend so she's pretty... unmovable.
As for Kana... good luck getting past Storm, that's all I can say. (Or rather, getting past Storm gets you a lot of respect and that can easily turn romantic but there's debate on whether those two are together or not.)

"If you had, we’d be worried," the boy replied, none too helpfully but it was likely better than whatever his sister could supply. "We’re something of myth in the worlds that do know of us and non-existant in others. That’s how it works for us.”
"Eeh, if we got seen everywhere we went, we wouldn’t be able ta do our jobs!" The girl folded her arms across her chest and leaned forward. "Not that it matters for you anymore, Mr. Vergil person."
Vergil scowled darkly at them. “I’m just supposed to believe that? Hng, whatever, it doesn’t matter. I’m just looking to find my way AWAY from here, so if you’d be so kind as to give me directions…” It killed the devil inside to ask for help from these two, but it was better than hanging around.
"Sure!" The girl chirped, eyes sparkling and smile wide. "If you head back the way you came, all you'll get is the forest! to the west- I think it's west- you'll get the ocean and just past that are the glaciers. The east has the desert and mountains. Go any direction you want!"
