Since y’all gave me an idea, I’m gonna sketch summer time mayuri’s all summer long lol . Feel free to add your own if you want. I know it’s sudden. But starting tomorrow, I’ll do a few sketches all summer of him in swimsuits, eating popsicles, etc.
I saw gifs from the new Bleach anime and it reminded me that, hey, I used read this thing when I was in my 20s! So I read the manga again. Only to find my favorite scenes and remind myself what was I even obsessing about so much back than. Oh boy. I REMEMBER NOW.

BUT….i am currently working on a book of poems that I am going to publish on JULY 1st of this year. So I’ll be extra busy here for this month and next. I’m excited about …I’ve been wanting to do this for a very long time. I just decided to go for it. To take a risk.

I think Mayuri must have been very angry with everyone when planning the remodeling and creation of new areas for the Shinigami Research and Development Institute.
A certain captain was asking for many changes, but wanting something and being able to do it requires making a series of decisions.
The first step is conceptual engineering and then I don't remember skskksskksks. But nobody really knew, That's where Mayuri's important role comes in.
Btw, I recycled a drawing that I never digitized and it had the perfect expression for Mayuri. It depresses me, but it doesn't matter, I'm not an artist.

Fun Facts: I was gonna do a simple, regs looking window to show how the 12th as we know it is just starting out, a pre 'stained glass thistle window' like in my other arts* but the prospect of doing a less colorful office was borrinnnngggg as hell😭 so stained glass it is. Also Mayuri and Hiyori are supposed to be antagonizing each other, but I kinda like how it could also be read as both of them glaring at Urahara, who's doing his best 'just a normal guy' impression Also kudos if you notice the reference to a certain book/movie, which is in itself a reference to Kisuke's character in my fic Imperfect (he evil lol). There's a few more vague references to that character scattered around, like so vague they might just be unvoiced hcs tbhhhh... either way, most of it is just random clutter

Initially, they gave him a red uniform. Mayuri paled, could it be that despite falsifying his records in the 4th Division, they still kept an original one? It was very easy to take advantage of them; there was no proper record of each individual in the Soul Society. Except for the nobles, everyone else was unknown. Of course, that should have been enough for him, but something went wrong; that witch tricked him.
It didn't matter, it was obvious he didn't look like a girl. He would take advantage of their fool-hunting strategy, his name, mainly used on girls, it would make it look like a mistake by some clueless idiot on the staff. He cleared his throat, annoyed.
"They're wrong, this isn't mine" He said this as he returned the clothes to the boy who was in charge of making deliveries at reception.
"Kurotsuchi Mayuri... Oh, I see where the mistake is" The student graduate said in a harmonious voice.
"Yes, my name... it's not the first time this has happened," he continued, playing along. He didn't like cunning, cunning was not synonymous with intelligence.
"It's more than that; on the form it's marked as Female. What a shame, especially since I love seeing women" Kyoraku, That was his name. He looked up after skipping over his words to see the most expressive grimace of disgust he'd ever seen. "Cheer up, man, I'll fix it for you" He took out a new card and filled it out from scratch. "Congratulations, you're a boy"
Mayuri muttered in annoyance, "I wish it had been this easy from the start." That's it, he already had the suit he wanted and he'd better leave before tempting fate any further.
"Yes, old-fashioned fools," Kyoraku muttered, fantasizing that if he were commander, he would do things very differently.
