the last one looks fucking ethereal if you invert the colors
I want to date someone who is genuinely my best friend. Someone who I can stay up late talking to and have meaningful conversations with. Someone who treats everybody friendly. Someone whoâs there for me when I need them to be, and vice-versa. Someone I can love.
Iâm slowly becoming the person I should've been a long time ago.
My conservative family members seeing me taking up embroidery:
One week later when I post the finished project:
I had to reblog this as soon as I stopped laughing
does anyone else get mischievous joy out of being nice sometimes? like âHaha, I knew you were going to be hungry so I got you your favorite food so I can surprise you with it being ready when you get here GOT YOUâ
#YES!! #its like. it feels like scheming #but love scheming⊠#the scheme is i want u to be happy (via @calmdownthehawk)
!!!!!! love scheming !!!!!!
âThereâs really no shortcut to forgetting someone. You just have to endure missing them everyday until you donât anymore.â
â UnknownÂ
yes. call me âloveâ, âsweetheartâ, âmy dearâ, âdarlingâ, âhoneyâ, âbeautifulâ, âmy girlâ.
Is anyone else ever genuinely shocked when you find out you have an impact on someoneâs life? A coworker can be like âIâve missed seeing youâ and Iâm just like â???? you?? missed me????? My presence has an effect on your daily experience???? I affect things??? W h a t ? ? ?â
Why are Lesbians like this ? .Do they take pleasure in attacking everything sacred ? .Or just love sexualizing those that take vows of Chastity ? .
.... Nunneries, specially during the renaissance were a safe heaven for a lot of lesbians or women who didn't want to marry... So this is a historically based joke you dumb bitch
Seems a bit unfair to single out the funny ladies making a joke on tiktok for sexualizing nuns when porn and the spirit halloween store exist.Â
How could you NOT fall in love with the glow of the moon and stars, the warmth of the sun, the ancient life within the trees, and the sweet melodies of the winds?
i just wanna sit in front of the ocean with someone i love
life gets so much better when you realize that there are no rules. you donât have to get your license at 16 if you donât want to. you donât have to date anyone in your teen years if you donât want to. you donât have to move out in your 20s if you donât want to. you donât need to go to any social gathering that youâre not in the mood to go to. and you donât owe anyone an explanation. sometimes you donât wanna do something just because you... donât wanna do it. thatâs it. live your life how you wanna live it.
theres a certain feeling i get every time this photoset appears and i cant really describe it
the speech impediment of the 21st century (by Marc Johns)
Iâll fuck you up buddy this is not a speech impediment itâs linguistic evolution!! the existence of the phrase âAisha was likeâ allows the speaker to convey whatever Aisha said without making the listener assume theyâre quoting Aisha directly while still maintaining the FEELING of what Aisha said.
ie, Aisha said she didnât want to go out with me VERSUS Aisha was like, âIâd rather kiss a Wookieâ.
the addition of âXYZ was likeâ lets the speaker be more expressive and efficient and it is a totally valid method of communicating information!!
With the way language has evolved, this is one of the few ways I can even think of to express in casual conversation what someone said.Â
âSo I said to Aisha,â is certainly used, but if you remove the âso,â which implies casual tone (âandâ can be used in the same way), you get
âI said to Aisha,â which is really formal in most English dialects/variations. I donât know about all, but in New England dialects, you sound like youâre reading aloud from a novel.
âI told Aisha,â is really only used when you continue to describe, not tell, what you told her. Ex: âI told Aisha that James was too punk for herâ works while, âI told Aisha, âJames is too punk for youââ crosses the line back into formalness of the âI said.â
Things like âI askedâ or âI answered [with]â are similar levels of casual and efficient to the âSo, I said [or say, as many conversations about the past take place in present tense anyway, as if the speaker is giving a play-by-play in the moment]â but are specific to only certain situations.Â
âI was like, âMarc Johns, what is your obsession with restoring archaic speech patterns and interfering with the natural progression of English from complex to efficient?ââ envelopes all of these easily and is accessible and crisp, and allows for more variations on inflection than the others.
Of course, James is probably like, âI already fucking said that.â But eh, I tried adding on.
