This probably wouldn’t be a straw-man, if black gangs killing white people solely for being white was a thing.
"This probably wouldn’t be a straw-man, if black gangs killing white people solely for being white was a thing."
The knock out game and black mob violence don’t real, folks.
Look, if you’re going to dismiss all of Someofmybestfriendsarewhite’s cases based on an alleged google search and a single fucking blog post than I’m going to go ahead and reaffirm the idea that black-on-white racially motivated violence is very much a thing based on a book I’ve mentioned earlier.
White Girl Bleed A Lot.
Not the musings of some racist basement dweller, the author has done tremendous work in the field of journalism, his story helped a black man who was wrongfully accused of murdering his wife be freed from prison.
I don’t know what it is with you and those like you who insist that there’s no such thing as black-on-white violence or that there aren’t blacks who solely attack whites because they’re white but this is a very real and very alarming trend.
But by all means keep drawing up comics expecting people to identify with the straw man. The hilarious thing is that you’re only getting more people to agree with, based on your posting history, the opposite of what you want.
First off, I'm not dismissing his sources based on what I googled. I read his sources, and most of the quotes he gave from them were taken out of context and/or inconclusive. Okay, I'm going to explain this in the simplest terms that I can. I'm, by no means, saying that black-on-white violence doesn't happen. What I'm saying is race is rarely, if ever, the sole motivator of these attacks, and that these attacks are the result of emotionally disturbed or, in the case of the knock-out game, intoxicated individuals. All this aside, you're looking past a crucial difference between white-on-black violence and black-on-white violence, and that difference is this. When a white person attacks a black person because of his/her race, the white person is, more than likely, doing so, solely, because the white person believes black people to be racially inferior to white people. There are volumes of literature by people who share this philosophy, as well as several organized groups who share this philosophy and wish to see the extermination of black people as well as other non-whites and lgbt individuals. The same simply cannot be said for black people. When a black person attacks a white person there are several other factors that impact that decision, the socio-economic oppression that is still going on, the fact that white people statistically earn more income than black people. One could even make a case that the way males are socialized to be more violent plays a big role in black-on-white violence. Granted, the same could be said for white-on-black violence, but, still, the belief that white people are racially inferior to black people just isn't there, or, at least, isn't even remotely as common. I hate to be the wet blanket on your paranoia party, but there's a difference between violence based on the belief that one race is inferior to another and violence based on years of socio-economic oppression. Black-on-white violence is as much, if not more, an issue of class than it is of race. This isn't racism, this is years of oppression that isn't being alleviated or even given the recognition it deserves and the purging of the tension that it is causing. Does this make the violent right? No. Are there more productive ways we could be dealing with it than just blindly labeling these attacks as racist and refusing to focus on other aspects of the violence? You bet. However, you do have a point. If my only audience is going to be nationalists who's minds are too far gone beyond my reach, then I am probably wasting my time.
