RANT/storytime
Do you ever get someone every once in a while who will purposefully misinterpret what you say despite making it very clear?
I'll explain two examples I've gone through. Me and my group had a presentation.
Instructions are simple. Everyone is given a task. They must research, and present their findings on the deadline.
Then comes presentation day, and someone else presents the research YOU did, and completely abandons their own with no explanation. And then tells you it was no big deal, and that they were confused so they 'changed their mind'.
Second example, me and a friend were planning Christmas dinner together. I and some others cooked, and she agreed to get the drinks, since she didn't want to cook.
Mind you, there are 8 of us at the time, half of us cannot drink fizzy drinks. I offered to help, by splitting the drinks shopping into two. I buy one big bottle of fizzy, and one big carton of non fizzy, and she does the same, so there's less to take home. She agrees.
I do my part.
The other friend says 'cool, I'll go out and get some for the group too'.
I ask her if she needs money for it, she says 'no'.
Cool beans.
She comes back with sweets. SWEETS. That too, sweets that the MAJORITY could not eat, due to gelatine. Then, she tried to gaslight me about it. 'You already got the drinks, so it's okay.'
Needless to say, someone else had to go and pick them up instead and when she was called out on it, she stormed out.
Anyone wanna share their stories, before I inevitably lose my mind?
