Mei paced around her living room in an obvious frantic state. She was confused, and there wasnât many that she felt comfortable confiding in. Actually, the only person that she normally did confide to, was part of the problem. Frowning, she picked up her mobile, pressing a familiar number before hovering her thumb over the dial button. Scowling at her indecisiveness, she cleared the numbers, throwing it down onto the couch. Settling herself onto a worn patch of the carpet beneath her feet, she curled up and hugged her knees. A lot had happened lately, and her usual, loyal and loving self seemed to be having trouble in deciding who exactly to stay loyal to. That kiss with Sasuke⊠The night spent with Utakata⊠Madaraâs reconfession⊠It was all too much for her to make conclusions - and with the yearly exams coming up and the piles of papers that she had to both write and correct, she really couldnât afford to have her own personal problems interfere with work. Lifting her head up from the palms of her hand, she stared at her phone on the couch, cursing it as if it was all its fault. Sighing heavily, she knew one more person that she could whole heartedly trust and to talk about regarding her current situation. Crawling back over, she grabbed the slim piece of technology and scrolled through her contacts until it reached the alphabet, R. Rin⊠She hadnât spoken to the woman for a long time, but the both of them were surely close, no doubt. Mei sighed heavily before dialing the number while drumming her fingers on the floor beneath her as she listened to the dialing tone.
Today was a good day. Something that wasn't easily said when you worked in a hospital with life and death constantly on the line. But, today was one of those rare days when everything went right, all her patients were doing relatively well and the interns were improving vastly. She'd actually clocked out on time, spent some time with Minato and Kushina, saw Kakashi and Obito, and was now relaxing on the her couch stoking her cat. Yes, today was a good one, a smile adorned her features, while spent a quiet evening with her age old feline. Things were looking up for her actually, she'd managed to make things right with Obito and who knew where things were going with her and Kakashi, she had hope, but reminded herself not to get hopeful. It was at that moment that her cellphone started to vibrate and the catchy ringtone which signaled mei's call caught her ears. "Poor baby." she coed, picking up the kitty and reaching for her phone in a single swoop. "Hello Mei, I'm so glad to hear from you, how have you been? We haven't spoken in awhile have we?" They'd both been busy, but that was no reason to put their social outings on hold.
