Morning classes together. He internally groaned, hoping they had afternoon classes together. They’d be easier, after all—in the morning he was grumpier than usual, although he didn’t think he was usually grumpy. Whatever, the point was that he didn’t want her to see the still waking up Mikuo. But even though they were morning classes, he liked that they both shared two classes together.
The girl seemed excited, he assumed so, at least. Nodding he opened his mouth. “Yeah, we are. You really haven’t been to one before, have you?” Mikuo tilted his head. As they entered the carnival, SeeU seemed not to notice anything—it was like she zoned out to her own little planet. She was like a kid, experiencing their first fair. The thought entertained him.
Her hands dug into his, and he sucked in a deep breath, biting his lower lip. He tried to move his hand away, but she looked too happy, he couldn’t just let go of her. The boy tried to pull away from her grip.
“I-I wanna go on the rides! The rides…!”
Mikuo exhaled. “Then go on a ride. I’ll pay for you—do you feel better?” He asked. SeeU quickly composed herself and corrected her sentence, which made Mikuo laugh under his breath. He looked up at the various rides, then back down to SeeU. “What do you want to go on?”
She almost felt a little guilty that she was a newbie at the fair, having absolutely no idea what it contained. Sure, there were rides, and food stands, but she wasn't sure on specifics whatsoever. She murmured a "I really haven't," to him, although she could have easily lied to him before. It was almost confusing - why didn't she? It would have been so easy to just say she had been to a carnival before and hidden her excited deep down, wedging it behind her heart and soul.
Ah, well. There was no going back now.
She craned her neck around, bright lights meeting back her gaze. Noises sounded, and she could make out the distinct sound of popcorn being popped in the distance. It wasn't as crowded as it was in television shows, but it was well filled, obviously making some business off the long forgotten festival.
She felt as though she was glowing, looking at the place. As if ever dream she had ever abandoned had blossomed into the metal that constructed the rides, it filled joy she wasn't sure she had ever felt.
With a smile lit up on her face, she let go of Mikuo's hand and twirled, letting out a laugh. Dancing was a natural habit she had, something she did quite often in moments where she thought words wouldn't fit; where she thought words would be meaningless. Yes, a twirl would summarize all the happiness that had burst through the flood gates of her soul, drowning her in contentment.
And with that twirl, spinning slightly away from the teal haired boy, SeeU was able to see all the rides in the 360 degree, and her eyes landed on one with spinning cups. Desire welled up in her, as she turned back to throw Mikuo a grin.
"I wanna go on the tea cups!" She announced her answer to his question, repeating of what she assumed what was the title of the ride based on the sign that soon above it.
She didn't hesitate as she did a small skip run up to him though, grabbing at his wrist again. "But, you gotta come on all the rides with me!" She said, her eyes reflecting back the lights of the fair. She didn't want to admit it, but along with excitement, nervousness churned in her stomach as well. She wanted him to come hold her hand.
"Come on, let's not waste time!" She giggled, pulling at his hand to drag him in the direction she was walking, which was to the tea cups.
She wasn't sure when she felt this happy last. Maybe it was when her mother praised her? Or when she got the invite to Tancho? If anything was certain, SeeU would be comparing every good experience in her life next to that one, that was for sure.
