No, I assure you, I did not just doze off at my desk
Grell had cleaned her plate before Will, how could she not? Will had made it for her, the first meal he had made for her for a very long time and she didn’t have any words to describe what it meant to her. To sit here, at this table, in his flat again. It made her feel more at home than she ever felt at her own apartment. Because Will was here and where he was she was at home. Home was where the heart was. And her heart was Will’s. her green eyes sparkled when she looked at him, Enzy was gone, so they were alone. Not that Enzy was a reaper but the redhead cared for her like a child, since fate would never give her one of her own, but now she had Will all to herself. With a small grin on her face she lifted one of her long legs and stroked his up and down. It was a flash of her old self, who she had always been around him.
“I wouldn’t mind a little dessert. So what is it? You?~ Does that mean I can nibble on you?~” Grell had a sweet tooth, she loved the flavour even if she had to mind her figure. Her comment had been an insinuation like always but behind it she was a little nervous. Some of her things were still here, was her clothes still here as well? Just to look at him now made her want to jump over the table and kiss him but that could push him away from her. She had to be careful for now even if she was simply dying to touch him and show him just how much she loved him. One of her hands was raised so she could touch her jawline, it was an elegant gesture and the goal was to make him see just what he had missed all this time. Her grin turned to a smile and she winked. “Or would you rather have your way with me?~” A soft giggle left her mouth and her cheeks turned into an attractive shade of pink.
It was a token of just how much William had missed Grell because he didn’t react in his usual cold, dismissive way to her innuendos. Generally, he preferred to have a serious conversation with his peers, though when it came to Grell in a flirty mood that was an impossibility. Still, he had grown to expect it. At this point though, such comments were warmly received as the only negative reaction he displayed was a slight eyebrow twitch. He leaned back in his chair and unclasped his hands so that he could adjust his glasses. “No, it is not me,” he states simply, actually indulging her with a response. “I bought a bottle of cherry wine. If I recall correctly, you mentioned liking it.”
Though he was suddenly concerned about that point. It had been over a year since the comment was casually made, and William could have just as easily misheard. It wasn’t a source of huge worry though since she seemed cheered up and as the dinner had gone better than expected he did not assume she would be moody over a small mistake. Cherry was a red fruit, right? That should be enough. Grell seemed to adore anything that was red. He doesn’t sit and wait for her response however, as he was never the type to be content with lounging when there was much to do. William pushed back his chair and began collecting their dishes, carrying them to the kitchen and dumping them in the sink. He rolled up his sleeves and inserted the plug so he could start the water. It was so hot that it stung his hands but he didn’t care. To be really honest, at this point, after weeks of living alone, he couldn’t be happier doing twice the amount of dishes. It meant that Grell was here again, and that their wrongs would be righted.
“Such a shame.” She wouldn’t have minded to have a nibble at him but as things were she wasn’t sure she would get to do that any time soon. You had to take you time around William and when it came to things of the more intimate kind, especially after a break up, she had to be careful. Even if all she wanted was to jump him at this time. It had been a long time and her self-restraint had never been good. Even so she stopped herself from going too far. For now. Then he mentioned the cherry wine and she cheered up. It had been so long ago she had mentioned it in passing and he still remembered? That almost made her eyes water, to think he paid such attention to what she said. She had never expected it since he usually never answered or grew tired of her constant conversations from time to time. “But you remember? How sweet of you darling, I wonder what else you have remembered for so long~” She stood up and wiggled her hips a little, stretching a leg just so to show off the length and strength of the limb. Then she followed him to the kitchen, taking the few items she could be bothered with, and that he hadn’t taken already. It was a comforting thing to see Will doing a homely thing like dishes, it made her remember the good days and also that her own kitchen was full of dirty cutlery and plates from the few days she had managed to do dinner and breakfast. Grell stood behind him for a moment and hesitated, one wrong move and he might throw her out again, it was a possibility she didn’t want to think about. So more slowly than normally she reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist and placed her head against his back. Then she just stood like that without a word for a long time and took in his scent and to just be near him again. It made her heart ache and her fringe fell in front of her face to hide her eyes.
William's memory was generally reliable, with the small exception of minor details that he didn't bother to keep track of. Unfortunately, at times it was precisely these small details that others (particularly Grell) wished he would remember. The cherry wine was an exception. Generally, the supervisor tried to keep his lover's likes and dislikes filed away in his mind for the simple reason that he knew such knowledge would be useful. He wasn't about to tell her that, though. The addition of more dirty dishes to his soapy sink was appreciated. He was surprised that she was even tidying up the table.
But then as he was rinsing one of their plates after scrubbing it clean, she wrapped her arms around him. The simple, affectionate gesture made him pause in his cleaning; the water from the tap stilll pouring over the plate even if there has long been no more suds to wash away. William would never throw Grell out of his flat for such a thing. He may grow annoyed by too much clinginess, but his solution to that was to shove her off, not to send her home. Either way, this was home now. For the both of them. He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice that he had stopped washing dishes and was just sort of standing there. There was so much between them, now that he had stopped to think about it and focus on her touch. He only snapped out of it when the mischievous pigeon, Florence, decided that he would make a nice perch and promptly fluttered down to land on his head with a soft coo. William's grip on the plate slipped but he managed to catch it just in time. His relaxed body immediately tensed again from the shock. The pigeon seemed all too pleased with herself, however.

No, I assure you, I did not just doze off at my desk
She knew immediately that he was lying, everything on the table pointed to a great effort on his part and even if he couldn’t admit to it she was grateful to him for the gesture. Everything was not perfect between them, far from it, but for a man like him to try in this way made her heart flutter in her chest. “Effort or not it tastes very nice.” She noted his fussing over his meal and lifted her plate to put half her potatoes on his plate instead. It was pigeon-pecked free and despite the fact he had sometimes found it annoying she enjoyed to give him this kind of attention.
It had been a long time since she had been able to do a simply thing like this. Being all alone in her apartment had made her miserable and unlike him she had no pigeon or pet to keep her company. It had taken a toll on her and it had resulted in that she avoided him whenever she could. It was too painful to see him and be reminded of all she had had and that he was beyond her reach. It made the dark night worse. When she didn’t see him they were bearable even if the whole in her soul ached. It always did. Green eyes framed in black lashes looked at him, took his appearance in and sighed. That whole was slowly healing but if he left her again she was certain it would never do so again. Meat was ripped apart by her sharp teeth and swallowed. Such a long time since they had a meal together. During her lunch at work she had usually settled for Ronald or simply skipped it altogether. If William were to look close enough he would see she was a hint thinner than before, not unhealthy but it was the sadness marked on her body. All the screaming and anger had been done when they fought so it was only sadness left when she walked out the door. And they needed to bring it up again. Needed to set things right and make sure it didn’t happen again. She didn’t look forward to it and it was suddenly hard to swallow. But he wanted her back; it was going to be like it had now. Never during her life had she ever lost hope, never. And she wouldn’t do it now. “Don’t be so hard on Enzy, she loves you very much darling.” And she did too.
William was an observant man for the things that mattered to him. Grell was one of those notches on the short list, but she was near the top. He failed to notice that she was thinner however because it was such a small change not a very notable one at that. Either way, had he noticed, he would just have given her more food which would have probably upset her but he’d have forced her to eat it anyway. He was tactless like that.
The gift of half of her roasted potatoes (pigeon-pecked-free) made him incline his head briefly in her direction and dig in. Grell’s comment about the bird made him cluck his tongue in annoyance but he refrained from responding. The two seemed to be speaking far less now than at the beginning of the meal but it was a comfortable silence. A silence which indicated that finally things were starting to look up. Eventually he polished off the good potatoes and the steak and his plate had been scraped clean of all that was edible (the pigeon-pecked portion pushed to the side). William steepled his fingers and regarded Grell over them.
“Shall I fetch dessert then?” It was really no trouble, as it was only a sweet cherry wine, chilled in the refrigerator. He didn’t have much of a sweet tooth, but wine was acceptable and the safer choice. Had Grell rejected his dinner invitation, he hadn’t wanted to be left with some sugary pastries or cakes in his pantry.

Now I bring them the greatest respect. Every time I see a pigeon around, and they are used to fly even insed the Uny, I start to whisper "William..." with my most dreaming voice xD Of course i read your and your miss' roleplays! I'm very glad you have now the time to come back in those tumblrs again <3
[ Oh that is absolutely adorable. xD To be honest, I also pay pigeons more attention ever since RPing William so you're not the only one hehe. Yeah... I have been mainly roleplaying on Twitter like I usually do but I thought "I have time, why not answer here?", and I did. :3 ]]
I am SO happy you both came back with your rp <3 (and pidgeons...)
[ Oh hello! I'm so glad to hear that :D, I had no idea anyone was reading. Thank you. <3 And of course pigeons, pigeons rock, who doesn't love pigeons? XD Well no one loves them as much as William does, I guess... ]]

I apologize for my absence
Maintaining a blog is difficult work, even if all I do when online is hunt for photographs and drawings of pigeons. They are truly such attractive creatures.
There have been several obstacles preventing me from posting overly much, such as an abundance of fieldwork, demon hunting, and checking up on my subordinates who seem to slack off whenever I am away from the office.
I have returned and look forward to spamming sharing pigeon photos with all of you.
No, I assure you, I did not just doze off at my desk
It was a good thing she knew him as well as she did. William had never been one to speak his feelings or any other form of affection but he showed it in gestures and actions instead. Like this dinner. Prepared for her as a try to make things right. And he said he had worked hard on it. This combined with the fact that he kissed her damp skin; skin covered with half dried tears, made her cheeks flush an adoring pink hue.
A hand followed his arm and followed the slightly creased material of his shirt up to his shoulder. Eyelashes fluttered and she leaned in to give him a heartfelt kiss when he screamed. It made her jolt back and green eyes widened at his behaviour. It took a few moments before she realised he was scolding the bird. Enzy. Long red hair fell in front of her shoulder as her head turned to watch the retreating bird. William had always been strict at work and didn’t expect any behaviour he deemed unwanted. The same went for his home, even if Grell herself had always ignored it and acted like she always had. Nothing could make her stop being herself, not even her true love. And if he loved her it was for who she was, so no need to change what was already perfect~ “Relax Will, poor Enzy was just hungry. And of course happy I’m here again so she wanted to be part of it, don’t be so hard on her love.” A soft stroking of fingers on his neck. “You should apologise to her later, you know how she gets. If you hurt her pride she will ignore you and you will only get angrier at her.” It was strange how similar the pigeon was to Will in that sense, she had to bit her shimmering lips to prevent a soft giggle. Up and down her finger went on his collar, a habit she had practiced since they both were very young. Very young. She tiled her head to the side and gave him one of her signature grins, but they eyes remained the same. Full of love for him. The she slide of his lap and arched her back when she turned around. If she didn’t go back he might start to get grumpy, feeling his efforts at the dinner had been wasted and there was plenty of time for her to touch him later. There was nothing he could do to stop her. With an elegant movement she sat down on her chair, it had always been hers since they got together, and lifted a piece of meat to her mouth. “You have always been such a good chief darling but I think you might have put more into this than usual?”
The familiar fingers caressing his neck, collar, and chest make him pause in his angry lecturing. It was such a common thing for his lover to do at the worst moments; while he was instructing new recruits, when he was just outside his superior’s door, during missions when he was trying to concentrate. It was just what Grell did. She was always unable to let him go for even a minute. The supervisor had grown immune to such assaults of affection but they had lessened of late. Ever since their fight, he had not been touched at all, or barely even acknowledged by her. It was the return of that form of loving caresses, rather than her words, that did calm him down in the end. Even if he did think that damned bird of his was being far too impolite and would receive further punishment … in due time.
When his lover finally slides off his lap and returns to her seat, William set himself to cleaning up the mess his greedy pet left behind. Of course, there was ample time to observe her slim figure without any guilt as she sauntered back around the table to take her seat. Despite the cold exterior he displayed to everyone, it had to be noted that the red-headed nuisance was the only one to set his heart aflame. He glanced up from his efforts to salvage the food on the plate (much as he loved Florence and she was a comfort to him during dark times, he was not fond of eating pigeon-pecked-food) and shook his head. “No, there was no greater effort made on this meal,” William responded modestly, though he was lying. He had ensured the spice rub on the steak was not too salty nor too spicy, made lemon water instead of just drinking regular filtered water, and gone so far as to provide dessert. There were certainly more efforts made for this meal as Grell suspected but the supervisor refused to admit to it. It was one thing to want his lover to return to him, but even a fool knew that a good meal could not fix all the gaping holes glaringly obvious in their relationship. There would need to be discussions, further arguments, and likely pain in both their hearts before this could be solved fully. That was not the pressing issue on his mind right now though. “…I think it is safe to say that I will need to toss the entirety of these roast potatoes in the bin,” he muttered.
She knew immediately that he was lying, everything on the table pointed to a great effort on his part and even if he couldn’t admit to it she was grateful to him for the gesture. Everything was not perfect between them, far from it, but for a man like him to try in this way made her heart flutter in her chest. “Effort or not it tastes very nice.” She noted his fussing over his meal and lifted her plate to put half her potatoes on his plate instead. bleached-rainbow started following you
Oh there was something, his face gave a tiny indiscernible spasm but her moment of triumph was entirely short lived when he refused to let her idly play with the glasses. The corners of her lips pulled down into a scowl as she eyed the clippers that were no doubt too close and in clipping distance.
“I disgust you? Really? And here I thought you were enthralled that I chose you instead of any other silly reaper to play with. You are so cruel. Utterly cold and unmovable. Such a challenge.”
She came to stop near his side, “Vermin. Such a nasty term. I do not wallow in filth, as you can see. Must you find reason to insult me? Or is it that you are attempting to rouse me? Or arouse me? If its the latter you’re doing a good job~”
He was not. In fact the names irked her more than anything but in order to keep her foothold as the instigator she’d do as she pleased until he cracked. She loved these games after all and anything challenging was her cup of tea—
So cold. So cruel. Words he was used to hearing on a regular basis, but from someone quite unlike this creature. They didn’t move him in the slightest, not emotionally nor physically. His head turned just slightly so he could keep his eyes fixed on this flighty, fidgety demon. She seemed keen to get on his nerves but his irritation level only rose following her sexual comments, the latest one about arousal causing an annoyed eyebrow twitch. William had places to go, but thankfully his schedule was not as tight as usual, giving him some wiggle room to argue with this female thing.
“Have you not stopped to think that the only reason why I would address you as such is because I have no idea what your name is, you miserable wretch?”
The eyebrow twitch made her cup a hand over her mouth and stifle the sudden amusement that burst past her lips. It was humorous the way the light caught the glare of his glasses and his eyebrow seemed to violently jump at her accusation.
“You want my name?” she managed to sputter through her small bit of laughter until it died down. “It is rather a shame that I know yours but you do not know mine. After all you are indeed the most talked about reaper to the demons who lurk here. William.” She gave a little tug to the edge of his suit coat.
Her finger absently grazed the pole of his death scythe, daring to do such a thing for his reaction. “Vittoria. Remember it. You’ll be yelling it soon. Now if it is in frustration or pleasure, we’ll, I believe I can mix both into one, don’t you think? For you of course.”
That thing was laughing at him. How dare she. It wasn't a small, polite chortle but a burst of sheer amusement and that just sent his eyebrow twitching even more. In addition, her careless attitude sent his blood boiling and it was all he could do not to snap and try to kill the demoness then and there. The frustration flowing through his veins was made worse by the touching: a small tug to his suit jacket there and her dirty fingers brushing against his precious death scythe. The reaper was too incensed to even tackle the baffling statement about why his name would be so well known among the demons as he spent the bulk of his time drowned in paperwork and locked in his office.
"Vittoria," he tastes the name, still frowning. "Now that we have been properly introduced, I do believe it is high time that I take care of you, wouldn't you agree?" His definition of "taking care of" becomes clear when he immediately lashes out at her with the scythe she had just caressed. The most he could hope to do was club her on the head with it as it was a long weapon and was mainly useful at long distances, so he hoped the initial assault would push her back and that her retreat would permit him to launch more deadly attacks with the sharp blades as opposed to the metal shaft.
