Received this Fender Coronado II today, and as best I can figure it, the finish is Rainbow Blue, as advertised in the 1968 Fender “On the go” catalog. Hoping some of Instagram’s Fender luminaries (looking at you @terry_foster ) might have some thoughts on this one! It’s essentially a transparent Lake Placid Blue over Wildwood, with a matching headstock and Fender stamped Grover tuners to boot. Eastwood Sidejack DLX (made in China), with 1970′s made in Japan - Coronet Amplifier, and some questionable potting techniques… 

If nothing else, they are a damn pretty guitar to look at! Thankfully, this one plays pretty nicely also. Not many stores stocking these in Australia, so made a drive down to Broken Head (near Byron Bay) to pick this one up about 6 months ago.
