The Strokes âOne Way Triggerâ official lyrics
I really love the art of the angles and comedown internet released lyrics, I donât know why the didnât released them in the cd booklets.

All The Time (preview) - The Strokes
One way Trigger
Hi again, Im sorry but i learning to use Tumblr.Â
I just wanna tell you that i agree with you about the new song. Im not a big fan, but a followed them since the first album and i feel that they are not anymore that indie band, but i guess they have to progress their music and that`s way they change the style. I think Julian has changed his mind too because he is not alone. Now he has a family. But i can feel that inside he is still the same little boy with fears and doesn `t want to grow up.
Never mind, i can t wait to listen to the new album! Although i think this song is very similar to Muelle de San Blas. But i don t care. They put in it their own style and that`s why they never let me down!!!
Nice to meet you! Kisses from Argentina!
Now that I think about it more, I can see more of the difference between Angles and One Way Trigger and the earlier albums - with the newest songs, I have to listen to them a few times first, try to like them and wait for them to grow on me. I have to give them a chance to see if I will like them. That didn't happen with the other albums - just listened to them easily, it came naturally and I instantly liked them. That's what sets them apart for me.Â
Personally, Iâm not the biggest fan of One Way Trigger, and I donât know if it will grow on me. I fell in love with Is This It, Room On Fire and First Impressions of Earth, but Angles and this latest single just feel sort of alien to those first records. Too much synth for my liking, not enoughâŠ
I agree with you on everything expect for the Angles part. I felt it was a really unrated album and didnât get the credit it deserved. Didnât like all of the songs from Angles, but I could say the same about First Impressions of Earth. I didnât really like One way Trigger myself, but I didnât find myself disliking it either. (Have you seen the comments over on fb? People are blowing up!) Anyway, I jut wanna to expressed that. :)
Personally, Iâm honestly so excited to hear the new album regardless of all the chances! The strokes are that type of band, I think thatâs what keeps them going to be honest. (Their passion in creating music I mean, and I love them for that.) The new sound in Angles really touched me on emotional and musically level, but thatâs just me. Iâm just super happy to see theyâre finally back!! I love the strokes â„
I feel you girl, like when you say you didnât like all of the songs on Angles or FIOE, I felt that way too. Some songs on FIOE were kind of just draining, but I did love most of the album. I think what sets Angles apart from the previous albums is that I can listen to basically every song on those records over and over again and enjoy them every time. I can listen to the WHOLE album and genuinely enjoy it. Â
Iâm not saying I didnât like Angles - I think itâs just because I canât help but compare it to how incredible the first albums were. Angles is a great album, with really meaningful lyrics - I just donât connect with it as much as I do the others. Iâm glad that Angles touched you on an emotional and musical level, because thatâs an amazing feeling! Itâs what I got from all the other albums, but not so much Angles for some reason and I canât help it - that being said, my favorite songs from Angles are Taken For A Fool (plus the video for this was great hahaha), Under Cover of Darkness, Machu Picchu (love the sound, so unique) and Metabolism (I feel like Metabolism is very reminiscent of the sort of ~dark?~(donât know how else to describe it) feel of FIOE).
I just think that The Strokes have made their first albums a hard act to follow, hahaha. And haha omg, I just checked out, youâre right - people really are blowing up about One Way Trigger. It seems to be a mix of âloveâ,  â<333â, âawesomeâ, âit rocksâ and âwtf?â, âthis is horribleâ, âawfulâ, âwhat happened to the Strokes?â and âtoo electronic bring back the rockâ.Â
Like you say, Iâm just glad theyâre back. Always good to hear new stuff from your favorite bands! So excited for 2013 in terms of music, especially Vampire Weekend. Ok this post if getting too long, but I enjoyed reading your opinion :)Â
My opinion on One Way Trigger
Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of One Way Trigger, and I don't know if it will grow on me. I fell in love with Is This It, Room On Fire and First Impressions of Earth, but Angles and this latest single just feel sort of alien to those first records. Too much synth for my liking, not enough garage rock... I mean I liked Julian's Phrazes For The Young because that was rock-y but also electronic/synth-y, but that was solo. But as a band with synth and all that jazz, The Strokes lose their sort of original, semi-low-fi, unforgettable garage rock sound. I wonder if it's going to come back. The Strokes are my favorite band but I really can't connect to their new music. I felt so much emotion listening to their earliest records, the lyrics were touching and the music was moving. I just don't feel that anymore... and I don't know if they'll ever go back to that.
I know it's important for bands to progress and change with the type of music they put out, but their latest stuff doesn't even sound like them.Â
We'll have to wait and see what the new album holds.
This is just my own opinion.Â
I still love The Strokes!
So, what do you guys think of One Way Trigger?
