Rudosiri is making me go insane the more I think about it, this is an S-tier ship.
Two childhood friends, two girls growing up loving each other more than anyone can love anything, both dreaming of becoming great racers.
But then the racing actually starts, and while Rudolf conquers the world and becomes the greatest Umamusume in Japanese history, Sirius gets left behind.
Sirius grows resentful and jealous, angry at her dreams being stolen from her, and begins to act cruel and bitter to her old friend.
Yet, is it really envy? You don't become The Emperor and stay the same as you always were, the power and responsibility changed Rudolf in many ways. She isn't the same little girl Sirius grew up with, the little girl she was in love with.
So maybe that animosity, those glares and the criticisms Sirius shoots Rudolf's way, it isn't about how good they are at running. Maybe it's Sirius mourning, seeing the dream they both shared take away the girl she loved.
Which is probably why Sirius can't help but take Rudolf's hand every time she offers it, when a little bit of Rudolf shows through the title of The Emperor, Sirius gets a moment to be with that girl again.
But then, of course... Rudolf isn't exactly an innocent bystander in this either. She loves Sirius too, but not in a nostalgic love for the past, more in the love for a feral cat you want to tame.
Maybe that's why they're doomed, neither of them can bear to actually see each other as who they are, only the visions of the past and future they want.
