shhh don't scare her off 🦌🤫
Ginny took a deep breath, willing herself to shut down the butterflies she felt building in her stomach. This was her first big trip with a horse of her own for a clinic such as this. Following a win in the CTJL circuit, Ginny was offered a sponsorship that brought Z into her life. Zinzano L was originally meant to be a dressage horse, but the gelding made it clear he was not super interested in showing off his fancy footwork. Now, Ginny has been working hard to convert him into a show jumper. Not only was this a big milestone for her professional riding career, but it held a little extra weight. She knew Z's breeder, Therese Lind, was in the crowd. Tess hadn't seen Z in person since his sale, and Ginny hoped that she could impress Tess with how far he had come. While they had kept in touch with texts on his progress, she couldn't wait for them to reunite in the stables after her ride. One thing Ginny continued to need to spend a lot of time with Z on was his enthusiasm for leaving the ground. Trot poles, raised cavalettis, a small crossrail. Often in his mind, they all were as exciting as a 3' oxer, and he was eager to show off his scope. By the end of the first day, Philippa's guidance had Z putting in a normal amount of effort into the poles. However, he still was eager about the cavalettis, and popped over them with a little more pizzazz than it necessarily called for—often treating them like little jumps.

You want to hear about Kato? The epitome of a creature of habit. It’s like he’s convinced the world is ending every time something changes around him.
The staff decided to give the stalls a little festive makeover..tiny Christmas trees, stockings for each horse and even little acorn deer. Cute stuff, right? Oh no. Not for Khatou. He was in the furthest corner of his stall and i think he believed that if he moved closer, the decorations would grow legs and attack him. He kept snorting and flicking his tail but eventually, after a good half hour, he seemed to settle down..probably deciding that maybe, just maybe, the decorations aren’t so bad… at least from way over there.
But don’t worry, he’ll get used to it… maybe next year. For now, he’s safe in his corner. And honestly? That’s just Kato being Kato.
CLINIC | The Education of the Young Horse with Philippa Rhodin Alex carefully balanced two steaming cups of coffee while he made his way through the rows of white chairs lining the arena. His eyes flicked between the uneven ground and Maria’s seat, planning every move.
Maria looked up just in time to see him dramatically slow his final steps. “That level of concentration is impressive.”
“These are hot beverages” he answered. “I’m not taking any chances. Here, fuel for the brain” he added, handing her a cup as he sat down beside her.
The arena hummed with focus and gentle energy. The clinic instructor encouraged calm riding, soft cues and clear communication. One by one the young horses worked through flatwork exercises; transitions, bending lines and careful circles. Some horses caught on quickly, their movement growing steadier with every round. Others needed a little more time. Every moment was a reminder that training young horses was as much about patience as it was about skill.
By midday, Maria’s notebook was filled with messy notes, diagrams and enthusiastic exclamation marks. Meanwhile, Alex had created a detailed ranking system for the “most dramatic spook of the day” which he defended with surprising seriousness.
Eventually Maria put the pen aside and closed her notebook. “Lots of info. We’re going to have some busy weeks ahead when we get back.” she said, tapping one finger against the brown leather cover.
Alex stretched his legs. “Good. I was worried things might get boring.”
“Thank you for the coffee, by the way.”
“Anytime.”
Winter has slowly settled into our region, leaving a light blanket of snow to cover the sleeping grass. We took the chance to take some lovely photos of our foals as they experienced their first snowfall. Odessa was the most playful of the three foals, galloping and jumping all over the field. Obsidienne, meanwhile, was true to herself, standing like a princess, calmly observing her surroundings and trying to eat the falling flakes. We also took a shot of Morris, our 14-year-old chestnut stallion, as the snow began to fall again after several hours. He was a bit chilly from the snow and was waiting for us at the field gate to bring him in.
A massage for the sweetest swedish girl
Since we're on a break from competitions in the winter (mainly because of the weather), it was time to take care of our horses. Héloïse had made a schedule for herself to take care of her 3 horses, from massages to rides around the stables. Today was the day our Esperia fell asleep under Héloïse's hands during a massage.
SOF Merveille, our 2 years old pretty girl
A snowstorm was forecast for Brittany during the day. So we decided to check that the stall doors facing outside were closed, to be on the safe side. As we've had quite a few windstorms in recent days, we've settled into a daily routine of passing through the stables when the wind begins to blow. The horses were under stress for those who were new and unused to the climate of this region. Foals only a few months old and in their first years tended to fidget a lot in their stalls. On this particular day, we were surprised to see Merveille in her stall, emerging from a good nap, while the two horses on either side of her were pretending to be dragons. A photo of this little 2 years old ball of fur was well deserved.

After a day of extreme cold, covering the horses, managing transport paperwork etc. for upcoming competitions...Manon was feeling tired. On that first day of December, the cold had taken its toll. As usual, Manon went round the stables to say good night to her horses, closing the windows and the stalls to keep them warm. Her favorite moment was to join Livello, her big bay who would beg her every evening for ear scratches, resting his chin on Manon's shoulder and playing with his hair with his lip. The young woman found this moment relaxing, creating her own bubble with one of her closest mounts. She loved this moment when she could feel the warmth and softness of her stallion.

The youngsters in pastures
Featuring SOF Narcisse and Dark Nebulah KH
In a very sunny day after having heavy rains for days, we decided to let our youngsters Narcisse (CT Renegade x SOF Dirka) and Dark Nebulah (Great Nebula CT x Dreamweis KH) go outside and eating the fresh grass of our new pastures. Those girls are very much alike despite Narcisse showing Dirka’s asocial personality and Nebula just loving giving kisses. In Brittany, the summer was not there, letting our horses outside was kind of difficult since the pastures were very slippery. It was joy seeing them interacting and having their moment of joy for hours while training the older one.

After several month of work, not good news, the ambiance of the stable was truly heavy. We thought that months will bring back the soft atmosphere but none of that really happened.
Aleksandra, one of our riders had a fall with Atome, she decided to take time for herself with her parents in Poland for a few months.
With all of that, hopefully we have the presence of our fearless Narcisse, daughter of Dirka that bring a bit of joy but also nostalgy.
We are preparing for two late births as well. The two mares are being well fed (a bit too much Manon would yell at her riders) enjoying the sun that is a bit absent.
We are hoping a great happiness seeing them grow.
The stud is also welcoming Gabriel Dumas, a 21’s years old rider. He is a friend of Manon, taking the opportunity to join the stable since he wanted to enter a professional stable.
From Brittany as well, he didn’t have many opportunities to join a stable that would propose high qualitied horses that show many talents and potential.
Fortunately for Gabriel, Manon always had the dream to own one and he always supported her for this project. He knew that she was made for this job and that she will be perfect for taking care of the horses.
The girls were a bit disturbed by the presence of this man, a bit jealous of him taking all the attention from Manon.
Shauna especially, she wasn’t accepting him for a cent. Particularly since he bring a stallion he wanted to try on the stable coming from the Normandy.
Shauna was always fighting with Manon for bringing another horse at the stable that she would ride. A rich looking.
Here Gabriel is, riding a stunning grey young stallion of 7 years old.
Walking with Morris along the new career, she was boiling of rage when she saw Gabriel so relaxed on this horse. Morris was a great horse, her favorite one of all of them that she rode. However, she always craved for more, but Manon declined it every time, saying she had enough work.
“Lucky she is the owner because I would totally bring one here and we would close her mouth.” She would say with her arrogance.
They never got along since Manon was most of the time at her desk, buried by the work and organization for the future shows.
Anyhow, Gabriel was here now. Seeing Manon at the fence, admiring them was raging.
“Why would she watch him and not us when we ride? Does he have anything special, anyway?” grumbled Shauna to Morris, eating the grass.
Gabriel ended the try by petting the stallion called Hermes, a bit smile on his face, heading to Manon.
“He is as handsome as the time I saw him at the auction.” Testified Gabriel, watching Manon petting the neck of Hermes.
“Hermes has a great lineage, and he proves it. He doesn’t look like he would be hard to handle and follow every of your indication.” Answered Manon with admiration of the Selle Français.
“You see! You know what I mean, I just hope he will get along with the other stallions and gelding.” Express Gabriel as he was dismounting the grey boy.
Now that he tried him three times, Gabriel was ready to buy him with his own money and putting his services to Manon and the stable.
Manon was loving the stallion, not just him but had a tiny bit of affection left for Gabriel since she was an adolescent.
Having him around was a pleasure and the complicity is as strong as before. For their great joy.
