shoutout to international students who didnāt grow up speaking english but are now doing complex readings and writing essays in their second/third language and being held to the same standards as native english speakers, i never hear anyone talking about it but thatās hard as fuck
three steps to getting things done!
26.12.17 // some throwback pictures that I love and something I tell myself when Iām going through bad times. I donāt want this to be a blog where I lie to you, I want to be as honest as possible so, Iāve been going through some hard times and Iāve come to the conclusion that all you can do is keep going. Itās going to be difficult and you might need a brake sometimes but it will pass.

A ghost cat with some wise words! āØMaybe things wonāt work out the way you planned, but youāll find a different way, a different path, or a different time.
Fuck anyone whoās ever made you feel like you were hard to love.

read this out loud:
⢠I am allowed to take a break today
⢠Itās not selfish to put my feelings and health first
⢠I need to remember to care for myself
⢠I should be allowed to express myself, I am lovely as I am
senioritis? after only two months of school? itās more likely than you think
āAll you need, you already have.ā
Often times we donāt see life this way. We most likely have enough food, water, clothing, a place to call home, a bed to sleep in, and all the other basic necessities. We also have loved ones, the ones that care about you and love you. We are most likely comfortable and have no desperate need. Yet, we donāt see life this way. We keep searching for more and more when in reality, all you need, you already have.

How do you go about immersing yourself in language? Sorry if this was asked before
My favourite way is to be in the country, but thatās rarely possible. My strategies are pretty basic, but here we go.Ā
Usually, I find music I like in the language. I have a playlist of Japanese music on spotify that Iāll listen to and Iām working on an Italian one. I also like to find movies in the language and watch them with subs if I need them. This is also a great way to learn about culture and every day life. Great for this, too, are youtube videos. Vlogs by native speakers are great! Sometimes Iāll have a video running in the background while I cook and not even really actively try to understand but just listen subconsciously, as if the news were playing in the background. Iām also part of quite a few language chatrooms where I donāt even necessarily write much but I read them when Iām on the bus or waiting somewhere and it gives me reading practise and I learn new words.Ā
I basically just try and figure out the things I like and find those in the language.
By the way, if anybody knows Japanese musicians with a style similar to MIYAVI, hit me up please!!Ā
Made this to remind myself.Ā
