tryina find the balance between āif you want it bad enough youāll get itā and āwhatās meant to be will beā
I saw this explained more succintly on another post, but it was a little simplistic. My take is that basically:
The things that are up to you are the things you need to work hard for. You canāt pass an exam you didnāt prepare for. You shouldnāt expect a relationship you wonāt invest any effort or care in to last. You shouldnāt expect to get jobs you wonāt work towards or apply seriously for. This means that to do well, you need to try to do your best, as much as reasonably possible.
But at the same time, we all need to recognise that some elements are outside our control. For example, we canāt be responsible for the other half of a relationship (partner, friend, family, colleague etc). If they arenāt putting in their bit, or donāt want things to work, you canāt compensate for that. And you just canāt predict what the future will bring; people can realise they are incompatible, or change and drift apart. So whilst we can do what we can, this is where an element of āfateā comes in.
Even competitive things like say, university applications or getting jobs and working up the ranks have an element of this. You can work very, very hard and not get in; and thatās not your fault. Recognising that part of it is out of your control can be scary, but it can help you to accept that if things do not work out, it wasnāt your fault.

Today I discovered this writerās tactic to face her fear of rejection and failure, and itās honestly very inspiring?! This kinda rewired my brain and I feel everyone should read and think about it.

// 14/05/18: *Whatās in Taylaās library?*
Here are a few autobiographies that Iām loving (of course theyāre medical)! The top two follow the lives of neurosurgeons: one as he reflects on his career before retirement, and the other as he battles lung cancer). The bottom two follow the lives of a neuroscientist whose brain tumours caused her to reflect on her mental health experiences, and a forensic counsellor who has seen just about everything in his field of work š©š»āāļøš

[12.07.18] 25/100 latest spread + two of my favourite dogs (one lives w me, try to guess who š) iāve been trying to be more present and practise my dancing since itās been a while iāve taken a real class. iām actually excited but scared tbh most of the students are already professional and iāve just started this year, but the support my family & friends gave me motivates me so much to persue this new path :)
in other news, i might have enter into the top third in my class?? iāve been checking my marks lately so that means i might as well have a 30% discount in tuition (here it works like a scholarship, so iām really excited for that ^^)

100 Days of Productivity x 3 - Day 49/100 July 11, 2018
I built a PC computer today! Iām beyond excited! Iāve been saving up and doing research to build my own PC for around two years now - and I finally did it! (With the help of my experienced friends and my encouraging parents, of course). The feeling of achievement of a goal, whether it be long term or short term, is one of the most rewarding feelings one can experience. If youāre lacking motivation, keep in mind what it is you are working for - what it is youāre trying to achieve. Even though people may consider it strange or small, after achieving this PC build I feel so much more motivated to put my all into my school work and studies. Letās work hard to reach that aspiration!
