As someone said recently (I would say who, but it was a while ago and I don't remember), the human mind and spirit were not built to survive hearing what the most horrible human on the planet is doing every 15 minutes.

From an interview in the NYT with Tucker Carlson, said the president has a kind of a quality that’s “spellbinding.”

“I think it probably literally is a spell,” Carlson said of Trump. “The effect is to weaken people around him and make them more compliant and more confused. And I’ve experienced this myself. You spend a day with Trump, and it's sort of like you’re in this kind of dreamland. It’s like smoking hash or something. It’s interesting. Very interesting.”

Carlson claimed that “there may be a supernatural component to it.”

“Anyone who’s been around him can tell you it’s real,” the former Fox News host added.

Hmmm? I wonder if Hegseth the Horrible will make sure to "get rid of all the DEI hires" and only draft White Anglo-Saxon and Germanic protestant men, no women, men of color or Catholics, Buddhists, Atheists etc. need to apply.

Oh… also, and only poor and middle-class white guys, right?

My bet is they bring back the deal where, like in the Civil War, you could get out of the draft by paying 300 dollars, pop down three to five million, and you're good to (not) go.

Oh... and for the record, there are already several canned versions of that drink for sale, just none of them are fizzy.

When Trump leaves office:

The Department of War will go back to being the Defense Department.

The Trump Kennedy Center will go back to being the Kennedy Center.

The Gulf of America will once again be the Gulf of Mexico.

The unfinished East Wing (it won't be finished by the end of Trump's term) will be rebuilt by the next president, and it will not be a ballroom.

Federal agencies packed with unqualified loyalists will fire those people and rehire the career experts Trump fired.

The Department of Justice will go back to enforcing the law instead of protecting the president.

Scientific agencies like NOAA, the EPA, and the CDC will go back to publishing research without political interference.

The U.S. will re-align with its allies and not with its enemies.

The presidential pardon power will stop being used as a rewards program for loyalists.

Inspectors General will go back to investigating corruption instead of getting fired for it.

The White House press room will go back to having briefings, with real journalists and not podcasters.

U.S. foreign policy will stop revolving around flattering dictators.
