A Daddy Day
One takes a Daddy Day when one can't possibly go to work, for reasons of hangover, unwanted 4-hour drives and occasional illness brought on by too much Stoli and Bolli. Instructions on how to enjoy a Daddy Day:
1. Prepare the couch - bring all your bedding onto the tiny couch in your living room. Works best if scissoring with another Daddy.
2. Turn on Two Fat Ladies, Ab Fab or if especially ill, Lord of the Rings.
3. Find your nearest Chinese restaurant on GrubHub and order: wonton soup, chicken noodle soup, orange chicken, seaweed salad (Daddy loves it when he's hungover!) and 3-6 cans of Diet Coke.
4. Eat none of the food. Drink the Diet Coke over the next 9 hours.
Taxi Karaoke
When Daddy and Daddy take a taxi to or from a bar, we always get the party started - or keep the party going - with a delightful round of Taxi Karaoke. We whip out an iPhone, put on our favorite techno remixes and sing/scream along, usually getting about 35% of the words correct. Interestingly, the more we drink, the better singers we are.
Cab drivers love when we sing Taxi Karaoke. Their favorite songs are "One Night in Bangkok," "If I Could Turn Back Time," and "I Wanna Dance with Somebody." They like to stare at us in the rear-view mirror with their eyes really wide - like they can't believe we are singing all their favorite songs!
But we always cut them off from the pleasure of Taxi Karaoke by closing the window between the back and the front seats. Taxi Karaoke is for Daddys' ears only, and if they want to sing along, they can come in the back seat and get someone else to drive!
Family Bed
n. The sharing of a bed by two or more people who are not in a romantic relationship, generally for more than one night in a stretch, or multiple times over many months. Family Bed most often results in spooning and exposure of one's most ugly morning self.
Family bed exists for various reasons. Our friends Shemmy and Shammy shared a family bed because they would rather spend their money on taxis and jaeger bombs than on a 2 bedroom apartment. When Daddy and Daddy spend the night at our little ducky houses throughout the world, we insist on family bed, as who is coherent enough at pass-out time to keep track of where all the beds are?
Family bed is a time for secret spooning and tiny punishment. Who gets the big spoon? Who gets the tiny spoon? The answer is Daddy.
Daddy and Daddy of course own their own beds. But family bed goes beyond who owns what. It is a time for champagne dreams and "You're Beautiful" awakenings. And Daddies can always fit 3 to a bed. Always.

Bedtime Face Care Routine
Most of our good looks come from genetics, but since almost no one (and we will steal the souls of those who are) is immune to wrinkles, we have developed a comprehensive bedtime skincare regimen that we follow no matter how tipsy we may be. ("You don't drink!")
Picture us at our side-by-side sink, Daddy and Daddy together again!
Daddy's Picks:
- Zihr Alpha Hydroxy Acid facial cleanser, scrub and mud mask
- Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser
- Boots Botanics Conditioning Clay Mask
- Biore pore strips - one Daddy is obsessed with pore strips and examining what comes out with them. The other Daddy claims his pores are too clean for these to work. But I say, the proof is in the pore strip. Whip one out.
- Moisturizer. Daddy is still stuck in acne phase, and she uses Clean & Clear dual action moisturizer. And we always use SPF. Hello, wrinkle prevention. Every day, we wish and hope and save our pennies to be able to one day slather our faces, hands and everything else in La Mer. Until that day, we will just moisturize our faces with tears of regret.
And most importantly, our favorite wrinkle creams (retinol fights wrinkles AND blemishes which is important for a Daddy)
- Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Deep Wrinkle Filler (I swear it reduces baby wrinkles in 24 hours)
- Prescription Differin Gel (adapolene is the generic, Daddyyyyy!)
- Frownies. Buy them at Whole Foods. Adhere to face. Sleep. They keep you from crinkling and cramping up your face at night, great for think wrinkles (we get lots of those). You can also get wrinkles from sleeping on the same side every night, so take care of that by switching sides in the family bed.
There is one anti-wrinkle remedy that we are curious about but are too scared to try and this is Preparation-H. Jennifer Aniston apparently swears by it - and Daddy wouldn't kick her out of bed! Every time we are in the store, we loiter by the hemorrhoid cream, read the drug interaction label and get scared away by the tingling and burning it promises. But that is what Retinol does, right? And Daddy loves to know that it is worrrrking. So, perhaps our next blog post will be on butt cream as eye cream.

Debonair Social Club
When no one can decide what bar to go to, Daddy always sets the cab to Debonair. Amazing techno music and a friendly DJ, plus cheap bottle service. And need I mention the red back-lit wall?? Honestly, next Saturday night, round up your friends, call ahead and reserve a table with a bottle of Absolut - you will not regret it.
A lot of times Debonair hosts some weird shit like art student mixers or Miss Wicker Park pageants early in the night. With perfect timing - arrival at 11:30 pm - you'll walk into an impeccable remix of Depeche Mode's Just Can't Get Enough.
Debonair attracts a pretty diverse crowd on a Saturday, so do make sure you roll about 8 deep to ensure you are surrounded by good looking people on the dance floor. But it's low on douches and ho-bags, so it's good enough for us!
Say hi the next time you're there. We'll be the beauties in the booth right next to the dance floor.

Bottle Service
$500 for a bottle of champagne is definitely douchey. But if you sell Absolut bottle service for about $100 and play techno all night (especially the songs we request), then you are Daddy's favorite place.
Bottle service is amazing because it gets you a table and if you split it between your group it is way cheaper than ordering drinks at the bar. You can even order Red Bull as a mixer, hello.
The next time you go to a bar, inquire about bottle service, try to keep it to $100 and sit back as your friends start to call you Daddy.

Veuve Clicquot
When Daddy and Daddy get together, the drinks obviously flow. Our favorite way to get the night started is with a big, orange bottle of bubbly.
Top 10 reason why Veuve is the shit:
1. Tastes like heaven.
2. Is champagne from FRONCE.
3. Is packaged with a highly recognizable orange label so everyone can see you are drinking Veuve.
4. Costs $40 a bottle, so is obviously good.
5. Usually comes in a highly recognizable orange box or container that can be re-purposed (like filled with a bargain bubbly and brought to a party - Daddyyy!).
6. Champagne bubbles make you tipsy faster (suppose this isn't unique to Veuve).
7. It's Veuve, dahling!
8. It has a beautiful golden hue.
9. It tastes like heaven.
10. Get a glass.
