Elena Gilbert by luckyxsammie featuring a black singlet
Bloodstream || Delena
Damon was well aware of her choice of drink, what it was. He just hadnât been expecting her to order it. Never had he tried it, but the name piqued his interest. As his eyes scanned over her face, he couldnât help but feel like she wasnât enjoying herself quite yet. Maybe because there was no alcohol in her system, maybe not. Elena liked dancing and having fun at that fraternity party beforeâŠ..so he hoped sheâd at least loosen up a little. âYou have to relax,â he instructed. The bartender set their drinks down in front of them. Taking both, he handed her hers, gestured for cheers, and set his up right at his lips. Taking a gulp, he moved it away, swallowing the amber liquid the barely burned down his throat. As much alcohol as heâd drank over the past century, he was used to it by now.
They finished consuming their liquor. Damon took her hand, guiding her towards the crowd of people dancing. In an emptier part of the floor, where they could at least breathe, he started dancing. Itâd been awhile since heâd come to one of these things. âJust have fun. Sway to the beat,â he murmured loudly, though not too loud, as he knew she could hear him.Â
Just relax. Right. That's all she needed to do. Deep down, Elena knew he was right. He wasn't going to let anything happen to her, but maybe it wasn't herself that she was worried about.Â
The moment he pulled her out to the dance floor, she canted her head and gave her a look. "I know how to dance, Damon" she retorted, slowly beginning to sway to the beat. Fingers ran through her hair and she could see the look of uncertainty wavering in the ravens eyes. "Stop worrying about me, okay" she laughed, moving closer and grabbing his hands. "I'm out to have fun tonight and I'm going to do just that okay? No worries about Kol, no worries about Jeremy, just you and me." She said, knowing he could still hear her over the loud music.Â

They met at the front of the club, joining hands before they approached the bodyguards. Damon proudly watched his girlfriend compel her way through, a smirk on his face. Naturally, he guided her to the bar. The place was pretty packed for a Saturday night, at least considering the population of Mystic Falls. One day, heâd take her far away from this damned place. Heâd show her Rome, Italy, Fiji. Damon had already whisked her away to New York, regardless of her humanless state at the time. He looked over her in a mere glance, turning his head to the bartender when the guy approached.Â
Damon ordered his usual, Bourbon. âAnd whatever the lady wants,â he murmured, his head tilting to look at her face with a smirk.Â
Though the music was obnoxiously loud, Elena blamed it on her sensitive ears. And because she was so new to this life, she had no idea what to order herself. She was used to drinking beer or shots of tequila or even Damon's bourbon. "Hmm, sex on the beach" Elena smirked, peering over at Damon out of the corner of her eye. Can't knock it until you've tried it. She waited and soon Damon not only had his bourbon, but Elena had her drink.Â

Damon sighed against her touch, his body melted against hers. Their lips met chastely, sweetly after her playful little remark. Usually they were close to attacking each other. Kissing had become the very thing that curled his insides, making him want to get out of bed in the morning. Even as corny as that sounded, it was true. After loving her internally and quietly for so long, then letting it burst, getting his heart torn out of his chestâŠ..God, heâs never been so happy. He loved her with every fiber of his fucking being. But just this   he could wrap himself in her comfort and kiss her this way for the rest of eternity. Damon tried not to pout when she pulled away. There was a momentarily silence. He knew something was brewing in her head, but decided not to pry.Â
"Plenty of women, Iâm sure," he said in a rather conceited manner, obviously teasing her. "But guess what? Youâre mine. Iâm yours. And if any girl even bothers to look my way, remember that sheâll be jealous of you. I donât trade diamonds," he murmured. Damon kissed her once more, quickly this time, before nodding. Entwining their hands, he guided her towards the front door and they left. In his baby blue Camaro, pristine as ever, they drove down the familiar roads of Mystic Falls. Soon they were pulling into the parking lot across from the new club. It was booming tonight, music audible from outside.Â
Eyes narrow in a playful manner at his conceited quip, her brow raising in mischief. "Try not to rip out any throats tonight then when men have their eyes on me" she said teasingly. It's as if her blood is boiling, racing through her veins at the comparison of a diamond. It thrills her to know that he can think so highly of her. He didn't see her as damaged goods even though it was pretty well known that she was with everything that'd happened to her.
When they arrive at the club, she glances over at Damon and with a slight wiggle of her brows she leans in. "I'm beginning to enjoy our traditions more and more" she said, stealing a kiss before slipping out of his camaro. Meeting him at the front of the car, she interlaces their fingers before walking towards the club. There's no line but considering she is under 21, forever, she compels her way past the bodyguard.Â
Story Tellers || Elena & Evelyn
"Itâs just sick and disgusting. Killing is an awful thing, terrible experience. Being aware of what they are doing and feel pleasure from it? I will never understand it" she said. She couldnât understand because when it was with her, she had no control and it was only much time after that she realised what she did. The full moons were horrible. Still, she felt guilty and disgusted with herself because that was not who she was. "That is sad but⊠I think she got what she deserved. Maybe one day sheâll look back and see how wrong she was" she said with a soft shrug. Evelyn liked to hope for the best, she always loved to be positive, even though most times it was too hard. Her biological mother too. One more to the list of deaths. She knew they didnât get well, that her mother didnât care or if she did, she didnât show, but she was her mother and she knew Elena had to feel something.
"Elena, I know that everyone must have already told you that and you donât even know me that well, but Iâm sorry for your losses. And because sorry isnât good enough, I want you to know that if you ever need something - anything - you can come to me" she said, staring at the girlâs eyes. She couldnât just listen to it all and not say a thing.
"Elijah certainly is⊠different. Iâm glad to know he was good to you, at least there is some hope" she said and for the first time, she filled her spoon with the delicious ice cream. She put it on her mouth and let it melt, enjoying every second. "Well, even if I didnât believe in Jeremyâs judgement, which I do, I donât think I would ever like him. Besides, two Gilberts not liking him? Yeah, that just points out that Iâm right about not liking him either" she said, moving the spoon in her hand as she spoke. "Yes, thatâs⊠the bad thing about the Veil being down" she said, sighing. "He canât keep on tormenting you, though"
"That was very brave of you, Elena. Wanting Matt to be saved, not you. And being ready for death⊠I donât think anyone is ever ready for that but if you were, you are really strong" she said, admiring the girlâs strenght. She knew that if it was her she would do the same because Evelyn didnât fear her own death. She was too generous and kind, she always put others first. So when it came to her? She couldnât care less. "But I understand you because I would do anything for the ones I love. Even if it means that I end up dead" she nodded as she agreed with her. "I donât think they died because of you, though. You werenât the one doing it, you didnât want it to happen. It is not your fault, Elena" she said, trying to assure the girl didnât think that way. "Iâm glad you had vampire blood on your system because you are a wonderful girl and Iâm really grateful I got to meet you"
"Thanks" Elena responds with a kind and soft smile. She never wanted anyone's sympathy. That was really too much. It was one of the main reasons why she'd kept her Aunt Jenna's memorial more private. Having a town full of people apologizing to you and tell you their sorry for your loss got a little overbearing at times, especially after having to go through with it with her parents once already.Â
"Let's see..." Elena trailed, trying to think of a way to sum up the last year of events. "Well, I was sired to Damon. That caused a lot of drama. No one thought that my feelings for him were real, including Damon. We found out there was a cure for vampirism and it really felt like everyone was trying to fix me. They didn't want me to be a vampire. I think the only person that really accepted it was Damon. I don't think he wanted it, but he didn't feel the need to fix me like everyone else did. My brother's one of the five. He was a hunter and that drove him to hate me because he was supposed to hate vampires of course. We got through that somewhat, but when we got close enough to the cure, we only found out there was one. I didn't want it by then. Taking it just seemed selfish when other's wanted it too."Â
"Then comes in Silas. Silas had to be awoken in order to get the cure from his grasp. Well, enter Katherine who hand my brother into his grasp and signs his death sentence. Katherine's the sole cause of my brother's death and that's the main reason why I have no sympathy for her."
Story Tellers || Elena & Evelyn
She gulped. âQuite a fewâ. The fact there were people after the supernatural scared her. She wouldnât judge since many awful things happened on the town. If she wasnât a werewolf herself, she would probably want to stop it too. But what scared her were that, people like her, dindât mean to hurt anyone and tried hard to keep themselves away from people in times of danger. Evelyn did all to control her temper and on full moons, she would lock herself as far away from people as she could. Was she one target to get killed too? She looked to her, seeing her putting the shoes near the door âOh please, donât worry about itâ she said, smiling to her. âI can see she is⊠Still donât know how can someone kill for pleasureâŠâ she commented before she sighed. âYou have no clue of how I understand thatâ she said, taking one of the spoons to herself.
She couldnât help but give a small laugh as she mentioned Damon âOh yeah, I can see him being the hero but not admiting he did any good. Probably making some excuseâ she said. She didnât know him well, but Evelyn was good at reading people and, even though Damon could be very sarcastic and even rude, he had a good side, the side that talked with her and recommended Barcelona, the side that cared enough to ask her how she was doing. He would never admit he cared, though. Especially not for 'Barcelona Girl'. He was one of the people she didnât mind having around. She knew Damon survived somehow but the fact that he was bit by a werewolf gave her chills because she knew what that did to a vampire. It was even worse when she told her about her aunt. Who would ever sacrifice inocent people? And being so selfish that he turned her to kill her? What kind of sick person would do that? She gave Elena a sad smile âYou donât have to talk if you donât want toâ she said, looking carefully at the girl. How many people did she lose? First her parents, then her aunt and she knew that, eventually, Jeremy. She couldnât imagine how she felt but she admired that she was strong enough to talk about it and that she always appeared to be fine. She was a fighter, a warrior, a survivor.
She could see Stefan sacrificing himself for someone. And that someone was his brother, who was dying. âDained you ofâŠâ she couldnât complete the sentence, it got her too sick. She didnât even get any ice cream to herself, she was about to, but she regretted it. How could she even eat as she heard Elenaâs story? It broke her heart like the pain was hers, like she knew the girl all her life. Who could hurt someone so kind and nice? It was comprehensible that they wanted him dead. Who wouldnât want that when it seemed like everyone got hurt because of him? She knew that if it was her⊠She would want him dead. Evelyn wasnât the type of person to want revenge or death but if she knew someone was out there killing innocent people, she wouldnât think twice. âOh I know two of them⊠Elijahâ she mentioned, normally. Elijah was friend of Lauren and if he was good for her, she liked him. It was as simple as that. âAnd KolâŠâ That name wasnât said with her usual tone, even though she tried. Her voice was colder when she mentioned the Original because she already knew too much about him. âI think it is too difficult to kill someone who deserves it, here in Mystic Falls. But somehow, the ones who deserve to live always end up on a graveyard. Itâs absurdâ she said, shaking her head and looking down.
Her eyes went straight up as she mentioned what Rebekah (she assumed she was another Mikaelson) did. âBut Matt is okay since you mentioned him to me, saying heâs humanâ she said, remembering their previous talk. âAnd youâŠâ
"Yeah, Katherine's like that. I doubt being human is going to change anything about her either. The only thing now is the amount of enemies she has. She can't protect herself like she would before and because of her lies and manipulation she has no one" Elena shrugged. She didn't at all mind that Katherine was a sitting duck. In fact, she thought it was the perfect revenge for everything that she had done. Death would have been too kind. "I mean, my biological mom was friends with Katherine, but she betrayed her to help Klaus" Elena added with a slight eye roll. "I don't know if I was just a distraction that day or what, but she got a phone call and told me her work was done and took her necklace off to burn in the sun. Clearly, Klaus compelled her."Â
"Elijah is perhaps the only original that I like. He's the one that tried to keep me alive and nine times out of ten, he was a man of his word. He's good" she smiled, taking another small spoonful of the ice cream. "Kol, however, tried to chop my brother's arms off so no, I don't like him. And well, considering my brother and I ended up killing him and the veil's down he's come after me more than once."Â
"I didn't know I had vampire blood in my system. I hit my head a few times because well, Klaus and Kol and god, I don't even remember who else. I was hemorrhaging and Dr. Fell gave me vampire blood to heal me I guess. None of us knew this until after the accident, after I woke up. So when we were underwater, I told Stefan to save Matt and he did. Had I not of had vampire blood in my system I would have died and honestly? I was ready for it. Everyone around me always get's hurt and from the very beginning I was ready to sacrifice myself if it meant keeping my family and my friends safe. So many people have died because of me. So yes, that's when I died and became a vampire."
Story Tellers || Elena & Evelyn
She nodded once again. She knew about Founderâs Day. It was a big thing on Mystic Falls and when she finally decided to make some research on the town (after she was already there, which was stupid) she found stuff about it. âThey⊠killed a lot of themâŠ?â she asked, scared. What if that happened again? She couldnât even imagine the panic. Poor Caroline was one step from actually being dead, was healed and when everything seemed to be fine, she turned. Like always, the worst things happen out of nowhere and even if people are very cautious, always defensive, how can someone predict the unexpected? Evelyn liked to think it was possible but her life was the proof of that no one can be ready to everything, no one can be entirely happy. It was like destiny was like âhaha nopeâ when someone is happy and decided to make them slip. She still didnât know why, though. Why couldnât things just be right? Why was life always so tough, for everyone? But especially⊠Why was life so hard for someone with a kind heart, like Elena? âSmothered with a pillow⊠How classyâ she said, sighing and shaking her head. âYou have many things to tell, Elena, Iâm starting to think my own story is boring compared to what you are telling meâ she smiled a little.
"Well yeah, Iâm kind of alone in here most of the time so I turn to ice cream a lot. I need it when a depressing movie is on TV" she chuckled. "Mint Chocolate it is!" she said, taking it from the freezer and getting them spoons. She put it on top of the small table on the living room that was right in front of the couch. She sat back down and opened the ice cream, letting the smell of the mint refresh the air.Â
"Well, quite a few, yeah. It was this device that could only be used once so they chose that day since they figured that would be their best shot" Elena explained, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Getting up from the couch, she placed her shoes over by the door and gave a wry laugh. "Katherine Pierce, classy woman" she drawled with a roll of her eyes. "Trust me though, I think that I'd take boring over this life any day" Elena said, taking a seat at the small table in the living room. It was strange as a vampire how much she could crave normal human food. Damon had been right. As long as she kept a healthy diet of blood then she could function pretty normally. "Thank you, she quipped as she picked up one of the spoons.Â
"So let's see...the sacrifice, Klaus killed my Aunt Jenna and I died. Told you that. Damon was bit by a werewolf. Tyler accidentally nipped him when Damon saved him and Caroline. Damon was trying to stop the sacrifice from happening and though he chooses to believe otherwise, being heroic by saving Tyler and Care. Well, Klaus had a back up werewolf but he needed a vampire so he killed my Jenna, made her transition and then killed her in the ritual" Elena swallowed, dipping her spoon into the tub of ice cream and taking a bite that she made sure to last a while. Thinking about Jenna was one of the harder things about this entire story. That was the last time she'd seen Jenna and a massive part of her was and would always be guilty.Â
Taking a breath, she continued. "Klaus's blood is the heal to a werewolf bite since he's the original hybrid. The catch was that Stefan had to hand himself over. He was basically his personal lap dog the entire summer" Elena said, trying to think of a way to get to the end. Thinking about everything, all the death, all the pain and sadness wasn't something that she enjoyed talking about at all. "Damon and I searched for him, but he eventually came back to Mystic Falls. Klaus found out I was alive and drained me of my blood--er most of it. He had me in the hospital connected to a blood bag that was draining me when Damon found me. From then on, we tried to find a way to kill Klaus. Klaus had his siblings stored in coffins, but they were eventually all undaggered. We thought we had a way and we'd succeeded. It was a spell, but since he's still alive you know that didn't work."
"That same night, his sister Rebekah was out to kill me. Revenge. So she reared Matt's truck off the same bridge my parents were killed on."Â
I need a drink, or five about now...
Ahhh, yes, those. Starts feeling like a new day never comes after awhile. Oh, you know, other then the Seth thing, Iâm great. And you know, figuring out what to do with my life.
What Seth thing?
I need a drink, or five about now...
Raging alcoholic is correct. I canât survive without a drink or five per day.
Whatâs up, âLena?
Oh you know, the same supernatural issues but only a different day. What about you?
Story Tellers || Elena & Evelyn
She nodded as she tried to sink in the information. Elenaâs life sounded like a rollercoaster. And she thought she had a rough life⊠One more thing to consider not thinking about herself and help others instead. Klaus was something against nature, he was a little of both things and that sounded awful. It was already hard being a werewolf or a vampire alone, it had to be worse being both.  âSo she was running away for her life⊠And she came back because she could give your life to him insteadâ she said, repeating the things that were still running on her mind. How could someone be selfish at that point? Evelyn was the type of person who would give her life to make sure someone didnât get hurt and Katherine was the complete opposite. She just cared about herself. âShe was the one who turned Caroline? Poor girlâŠâ she said, shaking her head. When she mentioned Tyler, her eyes got wide for a moment. She didnât know the boy was a werewolf as well. And he didnât want it either, it was because of an accident. But then again, who ever wanted to trigger the curse? It was a burden for all life. Elena had death all around her and knowing that made Evelyn feel like someone was squeezing her heart. The closest people she had that died were her uncle and her aunt. She knew what was lost because she lost most of her family and, sometimes, she wished they were dead because if they were, she would actually remember the good things about him. And, on the other hand, they wouldnât hurt anyone anymore. It was a dark thought to have, but Evelyn already faced the fact that she lost the family that she once knew. âSo it wasnât that time you turnedâ she said, making Elena know that she knew what she was. She could sense it and, honestly, there was no reason why to hide it.Â
She placed one hand on Elenaâs shoulder and gave it a light squeeze âIâm going to get us the ice creamâ she said with a small smile. She wondered from where did she pulled that one from because the last thing she wanted to do was smile. She went to the kitchen and opened the freezer âChocolate Chip, Cotton Candy, Mint and Chocolate or the good old Strawberry and Vanilla?â she asked, not bothering to talk too loud. She would hear anyway.
"Yeah, the vampires that were locked in the tomb Katherine was supposed to be in got out and we have this event here called Founder's Day. The town has a huge celebration with floats and fireworks. Well, members of the council had a device that sounded off and basically outed vampires. Well, it outed the wolves too and Tyler had been driving. Caroline hit her head pretty hard and ended up in the hospital. We had Damon heal her because they weren't sure if she'd make it. Well, later that night Katherine smothered her to death with a pillow" Elena said with a frown. "And no, that wasn't the time I turned, that comes later" she explained with a nod.Â
"Wow, you stocked up. Mint Chocolate sounds pretty good actually if you don't mind. I haven't had that in ages" she chuckled, taking off her shoes and inwardly kicking herself for not taking them off when she'd first entered the house. It was just a common courtesy.Â
Bloodstream || Delena
Damon    just as expected    lounged on the couch, sipping a trusted glass of his favorite Bourbon. He could hear the distinct sounds of Elena clanking around upstairs, readying herself for their night out. She needed a distraction, and clearly he wasnât cutting it anymore. If he had to hear about her nerves one more time, he was sure heâd explode. Okay, maybe not literally, or even theoreticallyâŠ. but still. Damon sighed. The eldest Salvatore was glad the Veil was still down, even though it posed a threat to all of them. Any being whoâd lived and died was able to appear in their little town, frightening the hell out of itâs inhabitants.Â
Heâd known first hand how serous these vengeful supernaturals were, considering heâd gotten close to dying due to that damned hunter. Of course Klausâd rescue at the last second. Only made sense.
Footsteps sounded on the hardwood stairs that descended to the main floor. Damonâs head lifted, his eyes finding her. Elena wore dark clothing, like him, and heels that made her legs go on for miles. In her usual waves, make up fresh faced, he smiled. She looked beautiful, as always. Damon stood, smoothing his deep blue shirt, and setting the glass down on the side table. Approaching her, his lips quickly found hers. A throaty but seductive groan left his mouth when their lips parted. âAll the other guys are gonna be so jealous when they see us,â he said proudly. âMy girlfriend looks hot.â
"And just how many girls will I be prying off of you tonight?" She asked in a playful manner as she placed her hands on the curve of his shoulder. "My boyfriend is irresistible as always" she cooed, kissing his lips once more before regretfully parting. "I didn't know Mystic Falls became popular enough to get a club" she chuckled. Mystic Falls was a small town, disconnected from the rest of the world. It deemed fitting in a way, especially considering how much this town had changed in the past couple of years. With the supernatural activity, it was probably for the best that this town was broken off from the rest of the world.Â
Perhaps Elena would have been a little less tense if she didn't know that Kol was lurking within the veil. It wasn't a secret he wanted his vengeance on Elena and she had a feeling that he'd go to every length to reach it--including hurting her loved ones and that was not something she was willing to do. If it came down to her or someone she loved--Caroline, Bonnie, Damon, even someone such as April--she'd hand herself over. She also kept quiet about this little fact because she knew how Damon would react. He'd probably lock her in the cellar until she found some sense.Â
"You ready?" She asked, letting the stress roll off her shoulders and pushing a smile onto her lips.Â
Bloodstream || Delena
It was about time that Elena let loose for a night, and who better to do so with than Damon? She'd been stressed too much these past couple of months with the veil coming down and Jeremy seemingly stuck on the other side permanently. She let Damon convince her that a night out was just what they needed. Dressed in a pair of dark jeans, ankle boots, and a black draped scoop neck top, she was ready to go. Her hair cascaded in it's usual waves over her shoulders and her make up was it's usual natural finish.Â
Giving herself one last look in the mirror, she headed downstairs where she knew Damon would be waiting for her in the parlor--most likely nursing a glass of bourbon. "Okay, I'm ready" she called. "I really hope you're right about tonight."
Still mad, huh.
Not now, Damon.
Story Tellers || Elena & Evelyn
"Oh well, thatâs Damon" she grinned but soon the smile was out of her face."Both of them at the same timeâŠ" It would be better if it was a question but no, she was just repeating it to make sure her brain got that. Who in hell would ever do that? Know that it would bring hurt to both of them. They were brothers, no one should tear them apart. And Eve knew that. The only family she had any contact with were the ones that were taken from her. In different ways, but always taken from her life. She couldnât judge Elena for wanting Katherine gone, after all, she was the one bringing chaos to her life. Evelyn would say she was sorry, because she honestly was. She couldnât imagine how Elena felt about all that happened. But sorry was such a small little thing. How many times did she hear that? Saying sorry wouldnât change anything, and Eve knew that way too well. Instead, she placed one hand on Elenaâs leg, in a comforting gesture. âYou saved Damonâs ass? Oh that certainly will have to be a story for another timeâ she said with a soft smile. She frowned once she told her that Katherine was just running around. âSo she manipulated them, fooled them and then simply came back? Why wait so long?â she asked, tilting her head. She usually didnât make questions but she could sense Elena was comfortable enough for her to do it. âIâm usually nice to everyone but Iâm already seeing Iâll end up being a bitch to her, itâs just a matter of timeâ she said with a little shrug. It would be hard to even try getting to know Katherine after knowing what she did.
"Well that's the kicker" Elena said, looking over at her. "She'd been on the run for over five hundred years because she too is a doppelganger and like you previously realized, a doppelganger's blood is needed to break the hybrid curse. Klaus? The original? He's the one the curse was laid down on. He was born a werewolf, but when he became a vampire the witches cast a spell so that he could not initiate both. It was against nature. Only the blood of a doppelganger. It was the first Petrova, her blood, that turned them all into vampires. Katherine was the first doppelganger and when Klaus found her, he intended on sacrificing her to break the curse. But she ran and she's been on the run for centuries" Elena explained, glancing over at the girl. "Then Katherine finds out about me and figures that she can stop running if she gives Klaus what he wanted all those years ago. The moonstone, a vampire, a werewolf and the number one thing? A doppelganger. She turned Caroline into a vampire, got Tyler to accidentally kill someone and trigger his werewolf gene and...it was just a mess. When the sacrifice came to, Klaus killed my Aunt Jenna...he killed me too but my biological father did some kind of spell and sacrificed himself so I would live. Because Damon had forced his blood onto me, we figured I'd become a vampire...but then my biological dad did that and when I woke up I was still human.."Â
"Youâre just too afraid to say it."
