This is something I’ve been thinking about a lot. This is a newer kink for me, (not really but that’s a longer story) and I’m looking around and figuring out what I like and what I don’t. And I’ve noticed two different categories that this kink falls into. There are people who enjoy making someone do something they other wise wouldn’t, and to me at least it reads as more of a control fantasy (I’ve noticed a vibe at least in some places where it feels more like it’s intentionally degrading and mean spirited in a way I’m not as comfortable with) , and there’s the other lens the fantasy is viewed through and I think I prefer it just a smidge.

This category seems to be more about giving in and being safe to be unabashedly horny and thoughtless. Someone else has basically taken the capacity to be embarrassed or overthink from you to allow you to actually be .. yourself? Like not exactly, but as someone who has a lot of sexual hangups, and a hard time feeling comfortable sexually, and maybe some unresolved sexual trauma, this is a very freeing fantasy, because it would mean that I could put all of my fears and hangups and caution in the hands of someone else and just fucking exist. No thoughts, no fears, just actually enjoying myself for once.

Oof, this one slipped through the net, there's definately a wide breadth and depth of ways to enjoy hypnokink.

For the most part the hard-core humilation, degradation and Non-Com tends to be mostly role-playing, because if it escalates beyond that it's not kink anymore, it's just abuse, and that is a danger thats ever-present in this kink, I cannot stress enough that people learn about their tists before going under for their own peace of mind, read their content, talk to them or their subjects. A lot of would be tists pop up with a nasty ideology and a basic enough grasp of the craft and that combination does damage.

The vast majority of hypnokink, outside of SPECIFICALLY discussed scenes, should be about releasing a subjects inhibitions, for the majority of people enjoying their sexuality is hard, we're raised in environments that tells us sex for fun is bad, sex work is degrading and you should be ashamed of any desires to indulge in kink. Hypnosis done right is a way to indulge in your fantasies without the crippling self doubt and anxiety. It strips away all of the mental conditioning of the world around you and let's you confront what you actually want, free of artifical constraints.
