marlenemick:
“What are you saying?”
“Come to Portsmouth with me, and let’s check out his warehouse.”
carolyn-wilkes:
“Yeah, it is.” Carolyn chuckled softly. “In our defense, it does seem hard to completely avoid such topic.” She shrugged. “Now that I know you’re fine,” she said, smiling, “we should definitely talk about something else.”
“Such as?”
fenwick-benjy:
“And do you ask?! I feel pretty excited!”
“Good to hear.”
marlenemick:
“Do you want me to quote you on that?”
“Marlene.”
carolyn-wilkes:
“Yes. The healers warned me about that. And I’m quite glad as well they are healing. It was a very gruesome sight.” She nodded. “It could have been worse. At least they let us go. I definitely didn’t enjoy being quarantined.”
Sturgis nodded in response, agreeing with Carolyn. It then occurred to him how grim their conversation had been thus far. Sturgis was many things, but a boring date did not make the list---at least in his opinion.
“What a grim topic,” he replied sarcastically.Â
fenwick-benjy:
“Thank you, mate. You know I’d like that.” Benjy nodded, then joking added, “Even when on mission?”Â
“Depends. How’d you feel about breaking curses?”
carolyn-wilkes:
Carolyn glanced at Sturgis’ hands and nodded, hiding her nervousness behind a curious expression and a kind smile. Showing her own hands and forearms, the skin almost completely healed, she said, “Back to normal, as you can see. Still a bit sensitive, though. And sometimes it starts to itch…”Â
“Ah. I’m just glad they’re properly healing and should hopefully not be noticeable.”
“I think that’s the case for most afflicted, yeah?”
fenwick-benjy:
“See? That’s remarkable. Not everyone can do what you do. It’s dangerous and it helps keeping everyone save.” Benjy nodded, glad Sturgis was getting his point. “And you were just saying how committed you are to your job.”
“Fenwick, you’re a proper hype-man. I ought to keep you around more often.”
mafaldahops:
“I think that depends on the person,” Mafalda said, before blanching, “Wait, this bloke had nose rings, as well?”
“Yep.”
catescrimgeour:
“Cate Scrimgeour. It’s nice to make your acquaintance, Sturgis Podmore.” She replied.
“It’s brill to meet you, Cate.” With that, Sturgis turned and headed in the opposite direction.

msameliabones:
“No. I know there’s some lucky girl out there with two angels as brothers.”
“What about no siblings?”
marlenemick:
“Me neither. Are you bragging about the man with the lotion of doom partying it up in the same place as mum?”
“No, I’m saying my mum has a rapport with him, and can’t fathom him intentionally hurting anyone.”
marlenemick:
“I meant for you.”
“I don’t follow.”
msameliabones:
“I hated them when I was younger. I even wished they’d disappear on my 8th birthday when I blew out the candles. Things haven’t changed much, but I like them more now.”
“Is it always that way with siblings?”
marlenemick:
“Is this, like, a status thing or something?”
“I don’t think he cares much about that. From what I’ve heard, he’s Muggleborn and quite proud of that.”
carolyn-wilkes:
“Thank you. You too.”
“How are your burns?” Sturgis replied, showing off his own hands that featured nearly unnoticeable scars.Â
fenwick-benjy:
“Are you really telling me you believe there is no reason for anyone to ever look up to you?”
“Maybe curse-breaking things.”
