Lightning in a Bottle By The Summer Set
I long to do wild, passionate things.
Katherine Mansfield, The Collected Stories (via wordsnquotes)
Discreetly glancing around the candy store to ensure no one was watching, Tootles slipped his hand into one of the containers and pulled out a handful of blue gummy sharks. Just as he shoved most into his pocket and slid one into his mouth, he could feel someone’s gaze bearing into him. He spun around and realized he was, in fact, being watched, but he simply reached into his pocket and pulled out two more candies. “Can I buy your silence for two of my gummy sharks?”
Star had the biggest sweet tooth and was a regular customer at Bunnymund’s Sweet Shop. However, on today’s visit, she noticed a boy well over the age of ten stashing some gummies into his pockets. “Two gummy sharks and a cherry sucker and you’ve got yourself a deal, buddy.” She wasn’t going to say anything anyway but the boy didn’t know that and who could say no to free candy?

Perking up at the interesting name, Bubbles attention rested on the girl for a moment. “Is there a meaning behind his name? It’s really unique! Those are always the coolest names.”
“Um, not really. It was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw his little face.” She hadn’t put much thought into coming up with the pup’s name but then again, Star didn’t really put much thought into anything. “Right? Like normal names are fine but it’s the weird ones that are memorable. Speaking of names, my’s Star!” She said, extending her hand to the other girl.
apathetic-adventurer:
Wendy chuckled at the girl’s eagerness to join her. She’d never met someone with such eminent happiness, but it was admirable to Wendy. A quality she never really had, she laughed at the almost child-like joy. “Well, if I’m being honest, the only place I’ve ever been before here is Oregon, specifically a small town named Gravity Falls, but I’ve always wanted to get out of there and see bigger things. Not necessarily like a big city or anything… somewhere with lots of nature.”
“I guess you have a lot of options on places to go then!” Star said as she dipped a french fry in her milkshake before popping it in her mouth. “Nature, huh? Maybe we need to go climb a mountain or something, Wendy.” She chuckled as she took another sip of her shake. “I feel ya though, I’ve always wanted to go to the moon but you can’t really go on a road trip to the moon... yet.”
olivertwists:
Oliver immediately jumped back in shock, hoping not to get whacked again by the intimidating girl who looked like she could definitely kick his ass. “Sorry, sorry!” He yelped, holding his hands up in defeat. “I promise I wasn’t going to steal it, I swear. I could – I mean, if you want, I could give you some money as an apology? And to stop you from hitting me again?”
“I wasn’t going to steal it, he says,” Star mumbled before taking a deep breath, catching herself before she could say more. He was just a kid after all and he did give her her back her wallet. “Look, I don’t need your money and I can’t promise I won’t hit you again, but how about you just give a pal a little heads up next time, huh?”
pacificnxrth:
As she began rummaging through the hole, a part of her was also trying to make sure not to get bitten by the squirrel like the other had. However, another part of her didn’t really much care if she did get bitten because the burning dedication she suddenly had within her was more focused on getting her precious bracelet back as getting it was most important above all else. The squirrel squeaked, as it tried to get out of the way, causing Pacifica to smirk when she noticed. “Where is it?” she asked, still looking around. The heiress however stopped for a moment, pulling back when the other blonde had accidentally hit her on the head with one of her acorns. “Ow! Like, try and not to hit me, please!” She called out, glaring at the Princess for a split moment before going back to what she was doing. As she did so, something shiny suddenly caught Pacifica’s eye. “I don’t have it yet, but I totally see it!” she replied, reaching for her bracelet. The squirrel must have noticed though, because just as she was about to grab it, she felt a pair of sharp teeth. “Ow! You little—” The squirrel grabbed a hold of her bracelet once again and tried to scurry out of the hole. “Oh no you don’t!”
“I’m sorry! You’re head was just in the way that time.” Star huffed as she threw her last couple acorns. This was it if the other blonde hadn’t grabbed her bracelet at this point Star would have to make a stop at the nearest hardware store. Chainsaws weren’t that expensive right? The princess chewed on her thumbnail anxiously waiting for the other girl to get her bracelet back. She never thought that on her way home that she would have teamed up with someone to take down a squirrel. What was even weirder was the fact that this rodent put up a good fight. “Ow? What do you mean ‘ow’? Did it get you too? What is going on over there?” She said marching up to the tree. Star stood on her tiptoes trying to maneuver her war around the other girl to peer into the hole and see what was happening. “Oh my gosh, is that thing actually trying to escape?”

“Creativity and forward thinking are key when plotting murder.” Dipper nodded sagely though he couldn’t keep a straight face for very long. “For real though these cookies are great.”
“You sound like you know your stuff. Should I be worried?” Star asked only half joking as she looked around the vacant area. Hearing him compliment her cookies she went from just grinning to beaming. “Thank you! I baked them with love and a sprinkle of magic.”

Flynn chuckled. “I’ll have to try one of those sometime.” He replied before turning his attention back to the bird lady. Those were… valid questions. He should have left long ago, but he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to experience something and get a story out of it. “I’ve been here for a while. I also heard some yodeling, a poetry reading about… well, I’m not sure what it was about but it wasn’t good. I guess I was just curious to see what bird she’d use in the big finale.”
“Yodelling? Kinda wish I was here for that, it sounds like an experience.” She chuckled, imagining what it must’ve been like sitting here and listening to all that. Honestly, she gave the man props. Star could only stand being at open mic night for ten minutes tops. “I bet you it’s the peacock. I’m telling ya it’s a showstopper.”
