Seeing the message bloom on her arms as she sipped her tea, Josie smiled. He was so brave, writing to her like that. Most people just waited for their soulmate, but her’s seemed to be willing to reach out. Reaching into her bag she pulled out an argyle green Sharpie pen and wrote her own message back.
⎡I’m just drinking tea at the cafe down the road from my school. Your drawings are very cute today. Good luck at your next volleyball game. I hope I get to meet you soon.⎦
Maybe that was a bit forward, but who did want to meet their soulmate? Josie knew most people thought she was still too young to go soulmate seeking, but she didn’t care. Even if her parents were against her searching, they couldn’t stop a 19-year-old girl from doing what she wanted.
He couldn’t help the small smile that slipped onto his lips. He wiped off the previous message, pressing his pen against his skin again. He thought a few moments before starting to write again. Several times he paused, re-thinking what he was going to say.
Thank you very much! Our next volleyball is against a school that used to be powerhouse. I’m not very worried, but who knows how it could turn out. I can’t wait to meet you!
He was excited to meet his soulmate one day. He hoped that she was just as nice in person, and had no doubts that she would be mean. By the way she answered him and through the tone of her writing, he found that there was no reason to be afraid.
