Leah nods sadly. She knows some of how he feels. She doesn’t quite understand the full extent of the pain, but she can relate to needing someone and not feeling like they’re yours, whether they once were or not. “All wounds take time to heal. In a few years, you might look back on yourself and laugh. You never know how you’ll feel in the future.”

Leah sighs softly, having been startled by his sudden appearance. “Still got a while yet, I think. I never really got the point of Valentine’s Day, though. It always felt like a Hallmark holiday to me.” She tells him, knowing that it would be on his mind. 

“Yeah, it seems like a capitalism kind of thing to me.” Lucien replied, smiling sadly. “I had someone to spend it with me last year and the year before that but now it seems pointless to me.”

Leah looks down at her hands, which have been fiddling idly the whole time, then puts an arm around her brother. “That’s another thing I hate about this holiday. Makes people feel like failures unless they’ve got a partner on Valentine’s Day. It’s horrible. It should be about more than just a romantic kind of love.” She explains, rubbing his shoulder.

After a whole day of convincing himself to stay outside and join the festivities, Lucien was practically hidden in shadows as he walked inside the Nyx cabin. This time last year, he had spent Valentine’s with Chuck, and now that he was gone, it was just a bitter reminder for him. Plopping down on the couch beside Leah, he smiled. “Not sleepy yet?”

With the attack over and her initial surprise over developing charmspeak, Celina now felt she had time to think of better things coming up. Namely, Valentine’s Day. It was her favourite holiday, hearts and roses everywhere, chocolate and candy for everyone. And everyone seemed to be a bit more romantic than usual, which she loved seeing. She was sitting by the stables, after having just been out for a ride, when she heard someone come up to her. “What do you think the odds are of people recovering enough to properly celebrate Valentine’s Day?”

She takes a moment to think. “I suppose where there’s a will, there’s a way. If you can motivate people enough, they’ll probably be willing.” Leah shrugs, a small smile forming. “If you help me figure out my feelings I’m definitely willing to help.”

Misha frowned a little bit and bandaged up his wrist. He had gone back to his intense training regimen after the attack, and in fact, he was upping his training schedule in order to keep his body in perfect condition. Unfortunately, this was putting intense stress on his body. With shaky knees, he leaned against the wall and groaned “What is wrong with me?”

Her ‘motherly’ instincts kick in, and Leah is suddenly aware of the fact that he can barely keep himself up. “How much have you had to drink in the last twenty-four hours? Have you eaten anything recently? Have you got a temperature?” She rattles off, moving closer to him in case he needs her support.

Ying Yue spoke chuckling at her companion as she took another gulp of her drink. Valentines day was less then a week away and the sight of lust crazed couples around her made her cringe slightly so in the spirit of her loveless life she got together with some single campers to mingle with each other.

She finds herself caught slightly off guard by the term the other had chosen for addressing her. It is pretty accurate. Leah supposes, biting into a KitKat. “Hey, just because I don’t choose to drink it all at once doesn’t mean I can’t handle it.” She tries to defend herself, but her heart isn’t in it.

Nellie sighed, feeling her anger fade a smidge at the realization that the other wasn’t even a Hermes kid. She should’ve been able to recognize those who lived in the cabin with her by now, but she was in such a state that she hardly cared. She couldn’t even remember which cabin #24 was, still stewing over her assignment and distracted.

The offer to help made her scoff, not thinking the other was serious. “Only if you know how to destroy writer’s block. Because otherwise? You can’t help me. Sorry.” She glared at her laptop, a scowl painting her features once more.

She pauses. Leah would normally have walked away at the words You can’t help me, but there was something that made her think twice. She recalled all those writing assignments she’d loved in high school, and bites her lip. Why should she help her? It’s not her work then, but at the same time, it’s might help her get the ball rolling on whatever idea might be plaguing her. 

It’s then that she realises she’s been standing here for a while, not really doing a whole lot except staring at the other girl. She shrugs, approaching slowly. “Well, you’re looking at someone who has considered doing English at college, maybe I can help.” She offers, choosing to omit the fact that she has no idea what she wants to study.

Kiran barely remembered anything from the moment he had reached the infirmary after the fight with Clyde. Everything had just become blurry, he had been so exhausted from the fight itself, and also his injuries. He was a good swordsman, but mostly when it came to offence. And since he hadn’t wanted to hurt Clyde, he had quickly learned his defence was… disappointing to say the least. Amongst a a dark bruise on his right cheekbone, cuts and scratches all over his arms and torso, he had a deep cut in his left thigh that had probably weakened him the most. It had confined him to this bed, which he tried to deal with by sleeping a lot. He had tried to walk once, to check on Clyde, and although he hadn’t fallen, it had hurt like hell. Not something he’d like to try anytime soon, no matter how bored he was just lying here, and no matter how much he also wanted to go check on Leah. He knew she was fine, physically anyways, because he’d made on of the healers - some Apollo kid - check for him. But he’d just like to see that for himself too.

Now he woke up from a pretty turbulent dream, not sure of what had woken him up exactly, until he felt someone holding his hand. He immediately knew who it was, there was only one person who it could be. All of a sudden he felt fully awake, turning to face Leah, gripping her hand tighter. Despite the concerned expression on her face, she looks healthy, which is a huge relief. “Hey you.” he greets her, his voice still raspy. He tries to smile at her, but a burning pain coming from the bruise on his cheekbone stops him.

Leah had been settling back, prepared to attempt a nap. She’d not intended to wake him up, and the second she feels him start moving, she feels bad. Maybe she shouldn’t have sat don, maybe she should’ve come back another time. The second she hears his voice though, a smile forms on her face, and she knows that even if he’s missing sleep to speak to her right now, it feels like it’s okay. She needs to check up on him, and she won’t be long anyway. He can go back to sleeping soon. He’ll have an easier time of it than her, anyway. “Hey, you.” She mumbles, grinning at him. “How are you feeling?”

She’s found herself on edge for days. After everything that happened with the Eidolons, Leah felt restless and uneasy. She bites her lip, approaching the infirmary and breathing uneasily. She’d felt so useless after what happened with Clyde and Kiran, and the fact that she was unable to see either of them, check that they were okay, didn’t leave her feeling any better. Her head feels dizzy, but she’s going anyway; what better place to be if you faint? She opens the door slowly, looking around the door until she spots someone she recognises to be from the Apollo cabin, but they look like they belong in one of the beds just as much as all these campers. She offers them a smile, and they know who she’s here to see. She’s been begging every day, and today, it was all worth it. Wordlessly, they lead her to his bedside, and the sight of him makes Leah feel even more dizzy. He’s in pretty bad shape. Leah’s seen him in worse, but it doesn’t make her feel any better about the situation. She mumbles a small thanks, then takes a seat next to Kiran. How can someone look so peaceful yet pained at the same time? She daren’t wake him, even if she wants to talk to him. Without really thinking about her actions, Leah reaches out and grabs his hand, which had been dangling limply over the edge of the bed. @kiranambani

44. Leah doesn’t have much difficulty with the phrase “I love you”, it just depends on the way she means it. If she’s saying it to a friend, then she’s very open and free with how often she “drops it”, but if it’s someone she cares about romantically, she’s much more guarded. She chooses words carefully when around that person, making sure now to use the word love as part of her ordinary conversations. When speaking to them, the word takes on a whole new meaning. 

32. If you make Leah give a presentation or have to talk in front of the whole camp, you’d have her crumbling in seconds.
