been a while . heโs lingering quietly โ perched at hilltop ใ freshly returned from a grueling mission . azureโs with him this time ใ chirping and clapping for sonicโs attention .

The Chao's tiny chippers for attentionย aren't gone unnoticed, picked up by the ear twitch of an accelerating body, though not answered immediately . ย Sonic speeds past, blur a deep blue against nature's soft pastels, fern green & pale yellowish grass that dances as his winds caress its ends . ย It appears he is looking for something specific, couldn't stop until he's found it . ย But he's soon to make a quick return, having circled around the hill & ended up right where he first noticed darker hedgehog & accompanying chao, whom he offers a big wave of hand, announcing his arrival with radiance . ย
Blink & he's next to them on the ground, speed carrying along wind that swoops past, some tree leaves that sway on their way down & the refreshing scent of greenery in the wilderness . ย Azure, momentarily perplexed by blue hedgehog's sudden appearance, and eventually coming to it โ ย bursts into a fit of passionate babbling that Sonic can't understand in the slightest, but perhaps he knows what the little friend is zoomed on . ย Simple white flower, warms colors at its center, a wild primrose elegantly posed at the tips of his fingers . ย It's with a little mischief in his smile that Sonic allows the chao a big sniff of flower's fragrance, and it proves quite strong, seeing how Azure sneezes immediately, tiny body toppling on its back . ย ย
And it's with sugary chuckles that he moves & delicately places flower where it belongs, onto the quills next to Shadow's ear . ย Now satisfied with flower's placement, hand gingerly moves down to hold onto Shadow's cheek, demanding to keep his attention, even though it's hardly firm . ย Giddy gaze fleeting between flower & eyes, the rapid bumping of his heart only intensifies in the mere seconds he stands still to admire ; ย to take in the contrast of nature's creation against ophthalmic dark veins and red shades . ย Bright sparks of corrosion versus the rich centers of flowers, pure teeth & bone against plant's pale downy petals, gentle hands of clawed ends capable of nursing smaller things ย ( as chao in embrace )ย with a certain carefulness that speaks of distant violence and carnage . ย ย
It's all too beautiful, Sonic will make sure to let him know, later, Sonic will make sure to remind him โ ย again & again . It's a quiet resolve that he weaves within chest before moving forward, ย & pressing lips to the other's cheek in a kiss, and then another, and then another . ย Every bit of affection delivering a message way better than words ever could .ย
