Although the Balvenie 15 Single (Sherry) Cask was released back in 2014, it's taken me some time to get around to experiencing it. Mark it, how cruel the wastest years! Matured exclusively in European ex-sherry butts, no more than 650 of these bottlings are drawn from a single cask p.a. Classic dessert notes appear here in full force: the nose heavy on malt & almonds; and the palette built upon milk chocolate. Unabashedly sweet - but I can't imagine a fan of Spanish sherry casks pursuing this without eagerly anticipating just such a heritage. . . . #tbt #VSCO #vscocam

Bit of Bourgogne badassery for @gracieng's birthday! The 2000 vintage from Domaine Confuron has a nose of blackcurrant, woody vanilla in the palette and extremely supple tannins. I'd tried the 2001 - with the assertion that would benefit from cellaring - before but this, its immediate predecessor, is good to drink now. #VSCO #vscocam (at Room28)
