"Sup, I'm back."
ooc: gomen, I don't think I have a muse today... I'll be going on a semi-hiatus since I'm going to the UK... so I'll see you when I get back! (or when I've got wifi XD)
"Yo, it's been a while. Sorry for the absence; I've been busy."
His smiled bloomed, somewhat glad, somewhat nervous but all else didnt matter. The past was the past, Thytus was moving on from unfortunate things. He had the urge to use his gift of suggestion to make Devon spill the beans on how he really felt, but Thytus decided against it. The next offer his friend made put the grin back on his face.
“Dammit man, if you were a woman I think you’d be my soulmate. Where can we find these fine or questionable women? Either way works for me,”He winked. “Though for the moment questionable might be more interesting,” He added.
Devon snorted, not knowing whether to be flattered or creeped out that Thytus was calling him a soulmate. He was still glad that he had managed to put the smile back on Thytus' face, and laughed as Thytus asked him to show the way.
"That way; I'm pretty sure I saw a couple of girls heading in that direction." Devon pointed to the left, and after waiting for Thytus to start walking, began to follow him. To be honest, he was very curious as to what Thytus had to say about his own family. Ever since he'd known that Thytus had been lying about it... but it was rude of him to just ask. He'd wait for Thytus to tell him, and not when he was feeling so guilty about it. He himself had a few secrets that he intended to keep and so knew how Thytus felt.
"God, this place is big." Devon muttered to himself as they walked. They'd been walking a while, but they still hadn't seen the girls he'd saw earlier.

At the introduction she gave a warm smile and a short bow respectably, her dragon flapping off her shoulder and gliding smoothly onto Devon’s to inspect the man. “That little guy is named Azkadel. Don’t mind him too much, he’s just a curious little thing." she explained apologetically as she walked over to scoop the creature back into her arms where it willingly settled into.
"Devon Frost.. does your name have anything to do with your…ability?" she asked, unsure exactly of how to word the student and teacher’s powers so she wiggled her fingers around as if she were a witch before laughing quietly at her own awkwardness.
Devon had watched her bow, feeling slightly awkward about how well this girl was treating him. "Ah... yeah... listen, I gotta- Woah, what the heck?!" Devon jumped in shock as her dragon flew over to him, landing on his arm. It wasn't that he disliked animals, but he didn't particularly like them when they jumped on his shoulder suddenly. Well, at least he knew now the thing was real. He rubbed his shoulder as she scooped the thing off of him.
"Azkadel? How'd you come up with that?" he asked her, letting the corners of his lips twitch upwards slightly. Azkadel wasn't a name he would have come up with on his own. At Nyx's question, his expression quickly changed into one of puzzlement.
"My name?" he repeated. "Oh, you mean Frost? Nah, it's got nothing to do with my powers... if you could call it that. What do you guys call it here? I know my grandmother called it a 'gift'." He raised an eyebrow at the girl's laugh, not quite knowing what she was laughing at, but not really wanting to find out.
"I'm what they call an empath." Devon explained. "Able to feel the feelings of other people and stuff like that."
Thytus smirked, he knew the gay comment would evoke some emotion into his rather at times quite friend. He had a quality for that sort of thing, so Thytus felt the joke was justified. But despite the easy air that was breezing between them Thytus felt the need to say something that was more true than just random jokes. Devon was like his brother after all. Devon also helped him through stuff. He should know everything.
"D, I need to say something," He began, not knowing how to since he was not exactly a sensitive being. “I lied to you man, the whole family thing.. I didnt exactly told you everything,"
He peeked through the strands of his blond hair and also trying to cover his feelings knowing his friend had the power to sense it.
Upon seeing the smirk on Thytus' face, Devon made a 'tch' sound and crossed his arms. He did not appreciate being called gay; he didn't even like other men that way! Well, he never really liked any women too, but that didn't matter, as his grandmother always said, he just hadn't found the right person. Right?
When he heard Thytus call him by his nickname, Devon turned to him, his expression of irritation turning into one of mild concern. Thytus felt... sort of guilty? His words weren't helping him, either. of course, Devon had known this for a while; it was hard not noticing the shifty eyes that Thytus got whenever he mentioned his family.
"Y'know, Thytus," Devon said. "You don't have to tell me. It doesn't really matter; you're still my bro either way. So don't go feeling like that on me; that isn't the Thytus I know." Devon grinned at him, hoping that would cheer him up.
"Well, if it helps you feel better, we could always look for the chicks around here? I know I saw a couple a while ago."
✒!!! "Um, we attend this school? What other possible reason is there?"Edges of lips tugged upwards, crimson jewels watched the other with amusement."—I’m guessing you’re new, right?"
"I dunno, a concert or something? Though I doubt you guys would have one over here." Devon sighed again. This guy- was he a guy? A pretty feminine one if so- seemed to be friendly enough, judging by the emotions coming from him.
"You guessed right." He told him. Devon paused, wondering whether he should introduce himself or not. Well... it didn't matter, did it? "The name's Devon Frost. You?"
·❥ "Don’t flatter yourself— This is a campus." And rather big on at that. "We’re all just trying to get to one place or another." —Way to point out the obvious, Jolene.
"Me? Flattered?" Devon snorted. "Far from it, miss." He was actually rather irritated that so many people had crowded around him. The sudden amount of emotions had felt like a blow to Devon, and he was beginning to get a headache. He rubbed his temples, sighing. "I am well aware, thank you very much." he grumbled.
"Well. Ya see, when a man and woman love each other very much…"
"... they screw each other's brains out, and depending on if the condom broke or not, they may or may not get a baby 9 months later. I get it." Devon let out a sigh of irritation. "So, who are you?"
Girl with a dragon. Sounded familiar, it must be the girl he hit on earlier. "So i guess, she’s a girl with the not so tattoo dragon?" Thytus tried to crack a joke but obviously it was terrible. He decided to give up on the attempts of humor and get back to his preliminary goal, whatever that was.
"Okay, so let me get this straight." He sighed “There is only one girl in this entire school? and and.. how?" He suddenly raised his hands in front of him and said with perfect confidence. “If that is so, she is mine and I will never share," he winked. It felt good saying whatever came to his mind without worrying about the consequences. If he didn’t know better, Thytus would say Devon was the perfect brother for him and vice versa. “and, if you want to swing that way, cool with me bro," He smiled, knowing the reaction from his friend would be priceless. He wondered if class or whatever would start any time soon.
Devon stared at Thytus with a blank stare. "... that was the worst joke i've heard today." He said bluntly. It was also the only joke he'd heard today, but no matter.
Sighing, Devon listened to Thytus' rant. He'd been through this before, and knew well what Thytus meant, but as he reached the last part of his rant, Devon's eyes widened in shock. Did Thytus just...?!
"Well, firstly," he began. "There is bound to be more than one girl in this school. Secondly, you can have that girl if you want; I'm not interested in the quiet types and third: did you just call me gay?!"
That question irked him and Thytus shrugged. The concept of different houses didn’t really set well into him, maybe it was because he was separated from Devon. Maybe that was why it made him feel iffy.
"Fox something," he said unsure. Then Thytus breathed in, eyebrows furrowed and seemed like he just had an epiphany. He glanced at Devon and asked a question which couldn’t sound any less like him
"You know, i wonder," he started, making sure Devon was looking at him and listening to every word. “Where are all the babes?"
"Fox? Damn, I hoped we'd be in the same house." Devon muttered. Well, he couldn't always get what he wanted, he supposed. He looked up at Thytus, raising an eyebrow as he watched his expression change. From what he was able to feel from him, he seemed to have just notice something.
"What's up, man?" Devon asked. Upon hearing the answer, he burst out laughing. Oh yes, that was definitely Thytus to think of an answer like that. Once he had calmed down, he finally replied.
"I just met one. She had a dragon, and she was real quiet too."

She was surprised at the slightly cold tone used to speak to her and slightly nervously looked around. “Um…i.. i guess..?" she replied, the dragon sensing her anxiety and growling low at the male as he usually did in warning. Though small-about the size of a house cat-the creature had quite the temper.
"I’m Nyx, Nyx Anima." she stated with slightly more confidence with the dragon at her side. She raised her eyes from the floor to stare steadily back at him, eyes slightly narrowed to match his coldness. Normally she wouldn’t be so bold but the dragon was rubbing off on her. It hurt to look into his eyes due to the colors which swarmed around him but she tried her best to bear it.
At the growl, Devon shifted his gaze to the girl's dragon. Honestly, he just couldn't be scared of it. The thing was tiny compared to the monstrous sized creatures that he had imagined them to be. He snorted before looking back at the girl.
"Devon Frost." He introduced himself, with a nod of his head. He raised an eyebrow at the girl's inability to look at him, but said nothing about it; it could be because of her powers or whatever, right? In any case, she seemed to feel slightly more relaxed. That was... good? He stood around a little awkwardly, not knowing what to say at that point.
To that Thytus felt his heart warming, the fact that his best friend was feeling lost without him and needed him, it was something uncommon to him. He shook the warmth away, feeling rather unmanly for it, and laughed at the question.
"Do I really look like I’m a guy with a plan?" He said, knowingly stealing a quote. But it didn’t sound any less true. He didn’t have a plan, he had a…well shit, plan, he did have a plan. It wasnt a well thought out one. He needed to get his power in control, He can’t always get blackouts and kill people, it was a capital offense. He sighed. “Well we need to get our crap together you know, the whole…" he trailed off, wiggling his eyebrows to assert the word he didn’t want to use. It was supposed to be a secret, well at least outside the walls of their new school. Thytus felt the sudden longing to have normal teenager drama, but instead he got this. Well shit.
"Yeah, actually, you do." Devon said, chuckling. Out of the two of them, Thytus was the 'leader', of sorts. He usually decided what they would do, and Devon was cool with that. He was more of a follower anyways; planning things out wasn't his style. He'd rather go with the flow.
As Thytus wiggled his eyebrows, Devon smiled knowingly. "Oh, I know." He said. He was glad to know that Thytus was still the same person as before, and his... interest in women hadn't diminished. He wouldn't have known what to do if Thytus turned meek and submissive after discovering his powers. At that, Devon snorted. Thytus? Weak? Please, those were two words that didn't go together.
"So, what house did you get into?" Devon asked casually.
Thytus was leaning against a wall with eyebrows brooding and face looking like he just entered to hell. He didn’t like it here, he established that fact. His eyes lit up when the familiar face greeted him and he hugged the man in a brotherly manner. "Man, I am so glad I see you. This place blows, but it’s better than hell," He laughed and bumped his shoulder to his friend.
Devon let out a laugh as he was hugged, returning it. "You have no idea how tough it was without you. I've only been here for an hour or so, but I want to go home. Not that its any better." Devon gave his friend a grin.
"So, what's the plan now? And what house did you get into? I'm a Royal Robin." Devon shook his head, sighing. He really didn't like his new house, mostly because the people in it were supposed to be 'social and intelligent'. He was definitely the latter, but he wasn't so sure about 'social'.

There was a brief moment’s pause in which Nyx took a moment too look over the boy with a quick glance. She avoided any eye contact since it was highly unpleasant to see colors swarming her vision. They seemed..interesting enough. Her curiosity about what abilities the other possessed was peaked but she wasn’t sure whether or not to ask. Nyx still hadn’t gotten used to talking to people yet.
Her personal dragon, Azkadel, perched upon her shoulder with a warning gaze upon it’s face as it stared at the stranger. Az wasn’t one for people either. His marble and stone colored scaled glinted in the light when the dragon turned it’s neck or stretched out a red membraned wing, reptilian eyes using only the second transparent eyelid to blink. “Who might you be?" Nyx asked finally, brushing a strand of black hair out of her green silverish eyes and tilting her head some
Discomfort and curiosity.
Those were the first emotions Devon sensed as the girl addressed him. She had the air of someone unused to speaking to people; a person who would rather be in the background than in the spotlight. He preferred to stay away from others too, not liking how he was still unable to completely block out their emotions. Thank goodness that there was only one person around... unless one counted the dragon on her shoulder. Devon smirked to himself at the sight of the winged lizard. 'So dragons are real,' he mused to himself.
"Shouldn't you be introducing yourself first?" He asked the girl, letting a little bit of hostility creep into his tone. He really would rather not talk to people until he could get used to being in a place where emotions ran rampant.
Finally, a familiar face. Devon gave his best friend a grin. "Yo, Thytus. Glad to finally see you here."
"... What- where the heck did you guys come from?!" Devon knew that this was a school, but he didn't expect to be smothered by people so soon.
