listen. no matter what your parents told you. having kids, moving out, paying bills, and getting married are not what quantify you as an adult. it doesn't matter how early or late you do any of these things if you still act and think like a child. it's not a checklist of things you have to do to call yourself grown.

your ability to manage your emotions, rationalize your thoughts, plan your life, adapt to unexpected events or failures, and keep yourself and those around you happy healthy and safe is what makes an adult.
