The prompts for this year's Novembmas have been finalized! With this, you all have some time to plan out how you can tackle the event.
Remember, each day has a Main Prompt, and then an Alternate Prompt, so that you can choose which one you would rather do. If you want, you can do both as either a fusion or separate pieces, but know that is not the intention of the event, only an option.
For Novembmas, as with last time, you're allowed to contribute in whatever media you find easiest or most fulfilling! 30 days of drawn art, 30 days of snippets or full chapters, 30 days of music remixes, the choices are endless! This event aims to bring the community together to create for the joy of creation, and for the joy of these wonderful Train Boys.
If you need assistance, the Battle Subway's Information Desk (ask box) is open all hours of the day, as it always it. See you in November, when we will start reblogging all of your wonderful contributions! (make sure to include the tag #novembmas!)
I put some effort this time but I’m on the fence of hating liking it. Don’t like the art style much but like how I did the pose this time (meh I’m just harsh rn)
Christmas post on the way (I swear if I’m like 3 weeks late, I’m crashing out)
k bye, have a merry Christmas and a safe new year ^ ^
After only eating potato mochi and Hisuian food, Nobori’s/Ingo’s teeth are as solid as rock
I am almost done with this damn event (and I am so so late) plus I’ve thought of something for Christmas (which is tomorrow…. Fml) it’s fine, I’m fin, I’m sane. :/
Elesa in public VS in private
Only the twins (and Elesa’s team) see her often without her makeup and hair done.
I kind of Headcanon that the game Submas and Elesa are more sibling relationship so they often want to make fun of her but can’t otherwise they get their butts beaten.
I’m almost done with Novembmas (god I am slow) I haven’t even thought of a good comic for Christmas and new years (. _ .) AAAH there’s also an animation I’m doing (unrelated to Submas) (> - <) times short..
Here’s the original meme
its from the Korean show: Running man
its a verrrrrryyyyyy old episode
The more Chandelure devour wandering innocent souls, the more lustrous and brighter her flames flare…
AniNobo can’t really tell Chandelure to not devour souls as it’s her meals but he tries his best to substitute souls with other meals
I struggled with the prompt but then remembered this unintentional lame pun about eelektross (as he is one of my favourites) how he always has a ‘shocked’ face (・∀・) ……….
I kind of like to think that in the first few years of Ingo/Nobori’s disappearance, Emmet/Kudari didn’t celebrate his birthday or even think about it. Without the brother he was born with, why celebrate when he’s not there.
He would be grateful and smile to people who celebrated his birthday but it would hurt him on the inside knowing his brother isn’t there to be celebrated with.
Anyway, he really is lucky to be born with gray/silver hair, he can hide the aging(・∀・) (plus he shaves off any beard growing, he thinks it makes him look old)
A▲▽ Enjoying a spa day (in their bathtub because it’s comfier than a public bathhouse)
Did I just draw a big yellow bowl and call it a bathtub? Yes.
Do I think they just found a big tub and decided to use it instead because their normal bathtub was too small? Yes.
D16 - Music (G▲▽ & Kamitsure)
Gear Station does sometimes play Thomas the Tank Engine’s op — for 3 hours…
D17 - Cuddle pile (G▲▽)
I got lazy and couldn’t think of something, sorry.
but tbh this made me want a Joltik eraser or giant doll to cuddle to sleep with.
D18 - Travel/Overseas (G▲▽)
The twins travel to Sinnoh! (As it is the closest region to Unova)
The guy in back seems to be wary of the twins… I wonder why?~ 🤨
D19 - Team Plasma (K▲▽)
When trouble comes to the station Emmet brings out Ingo and his intimidation skills (Ingo hates confrontation)
Hi, I know I haven’t posted them ALL and it’s a bit awkward since it’s December but unfortunately I’ve been busy…. (>///<;;)
First thing is, I’m trying to draw the prompts as funny or different as possible (damn u and ur want to be different for once…)
And second thing is….. ENA5 IS ON RIGHT NOW FOR PJSK AND ITS A LIMITED UNTIL DEC 9 AND I AM NOT GONNA MISS OUT ON IT!!!!!(● ˃̶͈̀ロ˂̶͈́)੭ꠥ⁾⁾ ε=ε=ε=ε=ε=ε=┌(; ̄◇ ̄)┘
I can’t believe the month is over 😭 it went by really fast… it was quite fun making some small doodles every day though. I think I did a pretty ok job of mixing both prompts each day (obviously some days better than others) It was really great since I had a bit of art block at the beginning of the month, so it was nice to be given some direction. It was verrrry fun to do one of these challenges again!
Thank you all passengers who have participated thought this wonderfully creative month- and to all those who are still looking to board, fret not! This blog will continue reblogging posts with the #novembmas tag for a few days yet!
Safe driving! Thank you for riding with us! All aboard!
It's the end of the event, and I have to say it's been a blast to not only contribute to the event, but to see everyone else's art and fics! I want to specifically shout out @joyong-iii, @edenarborart, and @fivefootoh-andtrains for also putting out some really fun Novembmas pieces! Y'all are great, and I love that this event if helping people find new writers and artists. It's been a true honor.
On to the piece, though! This is a WIP of a longer Ingo-in-Hisui fic I'm writing called Charting Course, so if you like Old Shiki here in the snippet, well, once I find a way to get back into writing long chapters and fics without mentally dying, you'll eventually get more of her!
Chapter Summary: A Warden joins her protege for a walk.
Chapter Word Count: 1077
Final Novembmas Word Count: 21,494
“I never would’ve expected you to be down here without a torch,” Old Shiki says as she clambers down the tunnel after me. As I scramble over to offer her my help, she waved me off. “I’m not so frail, Ingo. I can still trudge through the Underground.”
“But-“ I start to protest before she stops me, a single finger is shoved in my face as she limps past me. Old Shiki has been walking worse since the accident where I became her trainee, when she had slipped down the Stonetooth Rows across from the Moonview Arena. I had been humoring Melli, letting him lead me along a tale of his day when Old Shiki had let out a scream as she lost her footing on the cliff side.
Old Shiki doesn’t hold it against me, since it’s not my job to be her minder, but I know several elders do. I think Warden Calaba does as well, though she won’t admit it.
I swallow, and step in line behind her as I usually do, following her lead down these rapidly familiar tunnels. “Do you travel these tunnels often, Warden?”
“No, they feel cramped,” comes the response from my mentor, shaking her head and causing her almost white hair to sway. “I prefer the mountaintops, where I can watch the land and live among the sky.”
“I feel much the opposite,” I say instinctively, straightening my fraying coat as I keep pace with her. “I find these tunnels, well, not exactly familiar, but comfortable. The thought of riding these tracks feels natural to me.”
“With those glowing eyes of yours, that makes sense,” Old Shiki says with a chuckle, glancing back at me. I freeze, and raise my hand in front of my face to check if they’re glowing. And sure enough, I can see the area past my hand dim. “At least wait until we’re aboveground to check that, Ingo,” Old Shiki softly scolds, a wry smile gracing her features as she turns back towards the tunnel. “So, did you have a destination today, or were you simply indulging in wanderlust again?”
I chuckle a little as I rub the back of my neck. “I have… I’ve been using these tunnels to travel recently. I was thinking to… Poke around and chart courses for the day. They seem to be surprisingly straight tracks from the Lady’s nest to the settlement.” Indeed, they were much easier than talking the mountain trails in my opinion, though Old Shi-
“A much easier Space to traverse,” Old Shiki says bluntly, making a fast pace with her hobble. “I love the sky and mountains, yes, but these tunnels have always been good when the weather is bad. They were also a great boon when I was carrying my children, though I spent most of the time here in the Highlands.” After a pause, she adds, “Just remember, one has to be careful of the Pokémon down here.”
I nod and scratch the facial hair growing on my chin. “Yes, I have stumbled across several of those dens.” Indeed, the areas were nice, being literal oases of nature even under the snowy expanse of the Icelands. “They were honestly beautiful. Large caverns like auditoriums, where you can hear the sounds of Pokemon echo and mingle with the sounds of water in the caves. Cracks of sunlight allowing grass and moss to grow abundantly, giving a terminal to rest at and refuel. And of course, there are some places where the Pokémon won’t bother you, as long as you don’t invade their stations directly.”
“And others where they will hunt you,” Old Shiki retorts, shaking her head. “I have made markings in these tunnels, once I was sure that the Diamond Wardens hadn’t found their way down here.” I grimace slightly, immediately glad I hadn’t insisted that Melli follow me down the first time I had found the entrance to these tunnels. While I never had bad blood with the other Warden of the Highlands, or rather, any of the Diamond Clan. “But it seems the Baneful Ones like to manipulate them. They’ve tried to use them to fool and hunt me down.”
Ah yes, the Zoroark. Some of the elders insisted I was a survivor of one of their attacks, considering how Old Shiki and Snealser had found me back at the end of winter, but I’m not sure that’s the case. I have run into them before, and their hate doesn’t seem to affect me in nearly the same way it does the other clan members. Do they pity me for the memory loss?, I find myself wondering. Am I considered an outsider, even to them, enough so that I am exempt from the hate they hold to those living in Hisui? “I have seen your guide marks, though they were a little… Hazy. Like fog had settled over them, and they were trying to mislead me. But they worked well eno-”
“And you still followed them?!” Old Shiki asks in shock, turning to give me a suspicious look before jabbing me with a finger, eliciting a pained noise from me. She still eyes me suspiciously as I rub the tender point on my chest, then slowly nods and turns back into the tunnels. “You know, between the Baneful Ones not taking your life whenever you cross them, and somehow seeing their illusions for what they are, I’m starting to believe you actually did die before the Lady and I found you.” Despite the absurdity of the situation, she lets out a low and scratchy chuckle, which I soon find myself following with a louder chuckle.
“Then I’m glad I came back to join you all at this station,” I say, a smile gracing my voice even if I was sure my face didn’t reflect it. Old Shiki nods, and slows to let me match pace with her. I mull over my thoughts before I put them to the air. “It’s been an honor to serve you, Warden.”
“And it’s been an honor to train you, Ingo,” is her immediate reply. “You’ve been a wonderful student, and a great help to the Clan.” She looks up and gives me a warm smile, a smile that reminds me of someone, someone surely important to me. My mother? Maybe. My reverie is cut short as she turns to take us down another tunnel. “Now come on, let’s get us back to the sun.”
