hi everyone! just a little update: i'm going to be taking a step back from tumblr for a bit. social media isn't the best place for me to be right now during the coronavirus pandemic, so i'm going to spend more time with some self care activities like hiking and embroidery. don't worry, though -- i'll probably pop in from time to time, and i'll still fill all the requests in my inbox (eventually lol). make sure you all take care of yourselves, and i'll see you again soon!

hi dear! thanks for the request-- your moodboard just finished uploading! and there's no such thing as a basic name if you ask me!!! especially a name that is so rooted in a physical place. i had this english professor who was absolutely obsessed with how we connect to places and how we carry them with us, how they impact us, and how we evolve as they change. and that's one of the beautiful things about names -- they root us to people, places, things! we use names to gauge who we are and how we relate to the world! we grow into our names and create our own meanings for them! names connect the physical with the aerial -- how amazing is it that a breath, an inflection, a vowel, a cadence can make a name feel so utterly unique! listen to how those around you say your name. pronounce your name alone -- savor it, taste each sound as you go from a whisper to a declaration. a name is a home we carry with us wherever we go. enjoy it, dear, because it's a lovely one.
