Avant-garde { Kaminari&Lorelei }
Upon her eyes adjusting to the sight of the unexpected relics, she stood at the entrance for a moment, absorbing it all in. âŠWhoa. A smile flickered on her face as she scanned the place and then stayed there for good. She knew she was going to be here for quite awhile.Â
"YeahâŠ" Kaminari mumbled to herself, not caring if the store tender heard it or not. She was already occupied with a certain amulet of a flaming ruby, eyes widening at the charm it held. When she was done being enchanted by it, her attention wandered to the walls and then immediately darted to the swords.Â
Her posture suddenly straightened as she gave them a look. Kaminari glanced to the girl and pointed her finger at the blades. âThose. Can I see them?â
With her unique eyes did she watch the unfamiliar woman look through the sea treasure with awe, as if the woman could't completely decide what to set her attention on primarily. The sailor smiled to herself, watching the customer carefully- Who seemed to wander towards one of the amulets.
In her subconscious thoughts, as she subtly watched the black haired woman gaze upon its shine, she recalled where she had found that charm in particular- While resting upon the deck of her boat quite a few years back did she wake up to a seagulls cry, causing the girls eyes to shoot open and dart around. A memory she could recall quickly was a jubilant cry of a creature parallel to her sailboat, gliding steadily upon the waters as the bow cut through the waves. With curiosity, the sailor looked over the edge of the boat, to only be greeted by a single dolphin, happily swimming alongside the port. Then, with a splash of glee, it jumped from the water, letting out a playful cry which caused the girl to muster a laugh of happiness. Another splash of salty water and the jubilant creature lifted itself into the wind once again, this time, with something in its mouth. At the center point of its jump it dropped the item, the wind taking it quickly as is landed on the deck of the sail boat. With that did the happy creature emerge back into the swirling seas, swimming underneath her ship and into the dark. What it had dropped was the stunning amulet, a present from the dolphin to the girl, which she decided she would only sell to someone who respected the tale behind it. But, the woman didn't seem to ask, her wandering eyes dusting over the relics several times.Â
With her question did the girl look at the worn blades, with foreign engravings along them, then back at the woman. "Sure- I would be happy to ah- Tell you about the history of any of them, if you'd like."
"Which one would you like to see in particular?"Â
Lost in Thought [Elizabeth&Lorelei]
Elizabeth smiled brightly. âYeah! I love the sand and the smell of the salty air~! To me, the beach is very relaxing.â She began to grow happier as Lorelei did, and her smile grew as well. âI love swimming in the ocean when itâs hot out. Itâs very refreshing! And itâs so much fun to go around and explore, isnât it? I just love finding new things!â
She blushed brightly at Loreleiâs response. She bent down to help, though she suddenly felt a bit self conscious. âNo⊠Father never let me to on the boat when I was little. He said that I wasnât allowed because only boys could go on boats.. He took my little brother all the timeâŠâ She saddened a bit at the mention of her brother, but quickly covered it up when Lorelei mentioned going on a boat.
"Really? You wouldnât mind?" She said in surprise, so shocked that she found that she wasnât really able to help much- which made her feel bad since she was the one who offered to help in the first place. "A⊠Are you sure? She asked bashfully as she stood up.
The woman's words only made her more enthusiastic, her sun kissed face beaming with excitement. "You'd be amazed at some of the things I've seen while exploring underwater! The seals once showed me ah-" Catching herself giving more details about her "ability" then she wanted to, she paused, biting her lower lip with a small frown and shrug. "Yeah. I like exploring, too. You can find some real cool stuff."Â
Lorelei raised an eyebrow, her mouth open slightly, before shutting it, then falling back open. "Only boys? Well thats a silly rule! The ocean is for every person, not only one! Why, I'd say I could teach you how to work a sail, and you could catch the wind of the ocean air faster than most boys!" Lorelei exclaimed with a determined nod, a proud smile on her face.
"Why of course I'd show you!" Finally finishing in reeling the rope, she packed it into the bucket with her callused hands before standing up with the other woman, picking up the buckets with her two hands. "Let's go now! We still have so much daylight left!"Â
Sea-Lion Whispers [Lorelei&Gabriel]
The hot rays of the glistening sun beat down upon the small sailboat Lorelei called home, causing the mast of the sail to only rock, no wind in sight to fill the sails like helium balloons. The captain of the small sunfish sat in the old boat, only drifting a few feet off from the splintered dock with the restriction of the old ropes keeping it contained, spread herself with her sandy feet on the bow, and her back against the flat side of the hull. The sailor whistled to herself, her multicolored eyes staring dully at the lifeless sails, and one of her hands submerged in the water next to her. To no surprise, today wasn't the most exciting day since she adventured to the small town. No customers had come to stop by, and no one bothered to come on the docks because of how the sun heated them- Hell, it seemed like no one was out in this sort of weather, enough to make you want to turn back as soon as the sun rays kissed exposed skin. Her nose pink and burned and her legs golden by the suns touches, the sailor didn't seem to mind the suns rays beating down upon her skin, and only found the hot day to be rather upsetting due to the lack of wind to flood her sails.Â
Whistling, she swirled her fingers submerged in the water, creating miniature whirl pools that surrounded her callused finger tips with a feeling of solitude, yet support. Lorelei couldn't help but frown to herself due to her desire to be out and sailing against the blue waters, but it wasn't a lie that she hadn't relaxed in quite a while, especially since she sailed to the new and unique town. Mixing the salted water with her finger, she felt the familiar nudge against her hand, only to smile herself to recognize it as the loving gesture of a seal. She brought her feet down from the bow, looking over the port side to see three of the familiar seals that usually lingered along her sails. A grin spreading on her lips, she brushed a brine coated lock of hair behind her ear, to only have the seals playfully jump onto the side of her boat, having it rock as she let out spurts of laughter, as if playing with a child. Looking around quickly to make sure no one was watching, she grinned, allowing them to rest on the hall of her ship with a smile. Patting their heads like a man would to his dog, she mumbled to them, as she could, listening to their responses, that she could completely understand- She could always understand the seals! Ever since she was a child, she could hear the whispers of the sea lions⊠And she was more than happy to speak back, mumbling words that seemed foreign to the human ear.Â

Avant-garde { Kaminari;Lorelie }
Upon the abrupt and mysterious relocation confirmation, she immediately packed all the essentials and headed out here, however Kaminari didnât expect the new base to be an apartment. It was possibly her spoiled self speaking, but she quickly reassured herself that it was best not to expect anything from that point on. Of course, her surroundings were much more compact, but lively. Back there bore a strange aura, and trouble seemed to lie at every corner.
Kaminari didnât bother with unpacking and exploring the complex first, stepping out the infrastructure with curiosity of what this town held. Meandering through town, she eventually found the stench of the sea flaring into and violating her nostrils. It certainly had been awhile since she went through such a sensation. Nevertheless the girl marched on, deciding to wander into some of the shops. One caught her eye, one that was of noticeable size which perked her interests as to what was occurring inside. Squinting at distance, she was able to make out that it was a boat shop from the sign. Hm. Might as well buy one.Â
Never having been in an actual boat shop before, she was enticed by the new feat and swung the door open with vigor.
For the past few sun patterns, Lorelei had kept her small, quaint shop simply on the scorching splintered docks, unloading her collected items and tools from her sunfish. Her little shop was definitely not⊠Normal. Collected items like golden, unique amulets, gold and copper pieces, all sorts of rare jewelry and gems, and the occasional old, weathered sword is what she usually had out for customers to see. These strange artifacts were what she had found while diving into the deepness of dark swirling blues, for she could practically find anything with her ability to inhale sea water. In fact, even some of the seals would find her relics when the brown haired girl requested, diving down to find treasures and rare articles for their beloved daughter, seen by few human eyes. And on top of the strange merchandise, the young sailor could guarantee to build any sort of sail boat within a few days, or make any kind of repair.Â
But from the second the sun began to rise, she knew today was different. She was offered, for a day, a shop spot in town, to advertise her usual dock merchandise to hopefully lure in more costumers. The sea girl took the opportunity quickly, collecting the valuables and sprinting into town with them, her bare feet callused and splintered. She set up the shop, knowing it was only temporary for today, but put out the relics neatly, hoping her temporary location would attract more customers. After all, it was a rare sight when someone approached her on the old, weathered docks, so maybe she just had to build up her reputation first! Get a little well known, then people would come and visit her open shop on the docks daily!
The sailor grinned at her shop as she finished setting it up, old, antique sails displayed on the wall, and pirate swords leaning against the old wood of the store. It was a bit upsetting this was only for one day, having an actual store, but she was going to make the most of it.
She jumped a bit at the sound of someone coming in, only to greet the customer with a small smile. "Feel ahm- Free to look aroundâŠ"Â
Lost in Thought [Elizabeth&Lorelei]
Elizabeth smiled warmly. Oh, good! There are nice people in this town! Maybe this place wonât be as bad as I thought⊠She nodded happily. âYes, I live close to the beach. I just moved here, actually.â She smiled even more, feeling a lot more comfortable in the situation, despite its rocky start.
Her eyes widened a bit in surprise when she was offered free things. âOh, no. You donât have to do that for me! I just like helping.â She bent down to help. âBut you work on a boat? Thatâs neat. Iâve always wanted to go on a boat, but Iâve never really gotten the chance.â She laughed at herself. âIsnât that strange?â She joked at herself.
"Lorelei⊠I really like that name. Itâs really pretty!" There was a very child-like excitement in her voice as she finally got her hear Loreleiâs name. She giggled innocently at the girls awkwardness. "You donât have to be nervous around me."
Her eyes became a bit more intrigued at her response, and the sailor tilted her head in a curious manner. "On the beach? Do you like the ocean, then?" She asked excitedly, a real smile beginning to stretch across her face. "Do you like to swim-? Or explore?" The young girls mind instantly began to wander, her utter curiosity and love of the ocean showing through her plethora of questions, infused with excitement.Â
Lorelei bit her lower lip, before giving a small shrug in response. "Alright, if you say so." Bending down, she began to ravel up the loads of rope once again, clearly appreciating the help from the young woman. At her statement, she drops the rope in surprise, her multicolor eyes widening. "You've never been- on a boat?" She blinks a few times in disbelief, before her eyebrows arch in determination. "Well that's going to change today!" Looking back down at the rope, her hands move tremendously fast, raveling the rope in a hurry.
"Ah- Thanks."Â
((I'm going to head to bed but I'll get to all replies tomorrow morning~! :) Goodnight! ^x^ ))
Lost in Thought [Elizabeth&Lorelei]
Elizabeth was surprised my the girlâs strong handshake, but her years of defense training was able to let her return a shake that was just as friendly and strong. âMy name is Elizabeth, by the way. Iâm sorry I didnât introduce myself before!â She laughed at herself a little, her giggles much like that of a small childâs. It fit her appearance well enough, but not her age.
She looked down at the rope again, frowning slightly. âIâd really like to help. It looks like so much work⊠And I am partially the reason why it all unraveled in the first place.â She smiled warmly, crossing her hands behind her back. âJust tell me what to do, umâŠâ She frowned in thought.
"Iâm sorry, I donât think I got your name." She said, blinking at herself in surprise. A name was usually the first thing she asked for when she met a person- even if she had ended up tumbling on the ground in the process. Maybe Iâm just spacey because itâs the anniversary today.
The young woman nodded, realizing that she should probably attempt to look as friendly as the young woman did before her, pulling a smile together at the corner of her lips. Brushing back a lock of curly brown hair behind her ear, she nodded at the woman's introduction. "It's nice to meet you, Elizabeth. Ah- tell me, do you live here in town?"
"If you'd like to then I won't say no- It wasn't exactly your fault, but a helping hand isn't always bad, hm? Although..." She frowned, thinking for a moment before nodding. "I have a shop on my boat, I'll let you pick out something for free in exchange for helping me, sound good?" The sailor smiled to herself... She was finally getting a hang of this 'talking to people casually' thing, although her body language was still incredibly awkward.
"Oh its Lorelei- Or Lory or whatever is easiest I guess-" She paused. Why was giving her name always so awkward? "Whatever you want I guess I don't really um- Yeah just- Uh- Never mind." She rubbed the back of her head, biting her lower lip slightly.
Anti-Water [Lorelei&Liam]
Liam stared at the girl in silence, sure that she had heard him. When she made no attempt to respond to him, he rubbed the back of his head. Maybe she was shy? Feeling more awkward by the second, Liam decided to just out right ask her.
"Whatâs your name?"Â
Avoiding eye contact, Liam turned his attention back to the water, jumping in shock when a couple of seals poked their heads over the water line and ⊠stared at them? Bewildered, Liam took a step back, unsure of how seals reacted to humanâ could he even control a sealâs mind? The thought didnât bare thinking on, so instead he turned and began inching his way off the dock.Â
Remembering he was talking to someone, Liam spun, âWhy donât you come back to my shop with me? I can give you a map, or something.â
Her face somewhat pinkened when the awkward young girl realized he had been waiting for her to give her name, and she bit the inside of her cheeks, her splintered, brine covered feet shifting awkwardly. "Lorelei- Or Lory- Or whatever I don't really-" She let out a sigh, bring her palm to her forehead in embarrassment. Why was it so easy to talk about the ocean, yet so hard to give her name? She would never know... Perhaps it was because the seals never asked for her name. "Never mind."
It took quite a few moments to realize the man's widened eyes and somewhat panicked composure, which caused her to hesitantly turn her head, giving a panicked frown at the seals. Someone approached her not about her shop- Were they trying to scare him away or something? Seeing her expression, they sunk back into the water, disappearing into deep blue. The sailor exhaled in relief.Â
Somewhat surprised with his sudden question, she thought for a moment before nodding. "Ah sure- That sounds great, thank you."
Lost in Thought [Elizabeth&Lorelei]
Elizabeth was both shocked and memorized by the strangerâs eyes. She stared for a bit at the odd color, before catching herself and turning her attention to what the girl was saying. She didnât want to be rude by staring, though those eyes were quite breath taking.
With a childish grin on her face, she extended her hand. âDonât be silly, itâs no oneâs fault.â She hoped that her words would help the girl feel less awkward. It was then that she caught sight of the tumbling rope, gasping a little again. âOh, no! Your rope!â She bent down again, not minding that she was getting dirty from all the falling and rolling around in the sand she had been doing.
Her attention turned back to the girl, her child like eyes filled with worry. âWould you like me to help? Iâd hate to leave you to clean this up all by yourselfâŠâ She bit her lip slightly in an innocent looking way, hoping that the girl would let her help. She hated it when she caused trouble for people. the least she could do was help clean up the mess she had made.
Biting the inside of her cheek with worry, unsure of how the woman would react as she brought herself up, she glanced down at the standing bucket, then down to the one spilling rope. Things like this had happened before, it seemed as if she was only clumsy purely around people. She did, in fact, move much more swiftly and quick in the water. It was as though when she swam for too long, and inhaled too much salt, walking steadily on her bare, splinted feet was... Foreign!
Exhaling relief at the woman's response, she looked down at the ginger's extended hand before doing the same, giving a friendly shake, although most likely gripping a bit too hard on the petite woman's hand. "Ah- Thanks-" Lorelei swallowed her nervousness, returning her hand to her side as she looked back down to the outstretched rope.
"Oh- um-" Blinking a few times, the sailor responded with a small shrug. "I could probably do it myself, but if you want to I wouldn't mind some help, honestly."
Anti-Water [Lorelei&Liam]
Liam turned his attention from the girl to her boat, noticing that she had arrived alone. She didnât look very old, but he was hardly one to judge. Mentally shrugging, he tipped his head toward her, his expression neutral.Â
"Nice to meet you too" He let his words trail off into a question, wondering what her name was. Around them was silence; most of the dock was empty, leaving just them and a couple stray fisherman still docking.
She blankly looked at him before giving a friendly smile in return, bringing up her hands to her curly, somewhat tangled hair to tie it up into a loose bun high on the back of her head, quickly wrapping a small tie around it to keep it together, although a few curly long locks escaping from the rest of the cluster. Her eyes trailed back up to the tall man, realizing he was simply standing there and watching her, which simply caused her to stare back in an awkward manner.
Blinking a few times, unsure of what to say or do, she bit her lower lip slightly, raising her eyebrows as if urging him to say something. The whispers of the sea remained silent, a few seals peaking their heads from the water, watching their "daughter" interact with her own kind.
Lost in Thought [Elizabeth&Lorelei]
Lost in the intensity of the new town, Elizabeth had decided to take a walk along the beach and the piers. It wasnât that she hated her new town, she just missed her brother so much a little more of her heart broke off every second he was gone. Ever since the accident, she had moved impatiently from place to place, desperately trying to find somewhere that would accept her like her brother had.
She paused for a moment, leaning over to put her flip flops back onto her sand covered feet. She had always loved the sand. The way it kissed the soft skin of her feet was refreshing, in a way. It made her feel younger, not that she needed to look any younger. The wind blew her long red hair back, and she closed her eyes to suck in a deep breath before she took another step forwardâŠ.
Right into somebody else. She let out a childish yelp as she fell over, her dress flying up to expose things she really didnât want to expose as she made contact with the ground. Her large, almost baby-like eyes turned up to gaze at the person she had run into. She gasped a bit. âIâm so sorry!â She instantly hopped up, brushing off the embarrassment of the moment to make sure that the other girl was alright.
The sailor caught herself, about to fall before grounding her feet, catching herself quickly. Her multicolored eyes quickly traced down to the spilled bucket beside her, the neatly spiraled rope flooding from it like waves, coming un-done as it jumped down the sloped dirt path, before eventually running out of rope to run on as it came to a halt. A sigh escaping her peach lips, as the young woman set down the bucket that hadn't spilled beside her, gazing upon the tail of rope.
Snapping back into reality at the girls apology, Lorelei quickly turned her attention to her, her oddly colored eyes widening in fright at what she had done. "Oh- Don't apologize! That was my fault, anyway. Uh-" Awkwardly shifting, she offered a hand out to help, although quickly recoiling it back as the girl helped herself up, a concerned frown painted on the sailor's face. "Sorry, sorry about that."
Lost in Thought [Elizabeth&Lorelei]
The sailor walked briskly along the narrow path that lead down to the docks, cat tails lining the perimeter of the dirt she walked along, her callused hands each carrying buckets filled with rope. The weight of the two buckets weighed down her usual tendency to jog to save time, leaving her to trudge along the dirt, worn path, her bare feet scraping against small stones as she did. She had managed to find the rope while exploring the town, spiraled in a pile next to piles of trash- So she sprinted back to her boat, patiently waiting for her on the docks and retrieved two of her buckets. Quickly jumping back off, splintering her feet in the process of a harsh landing on the splintered dock, she scampered back to where the rope was, filling the identical buckets with as much of the material she could muster up to lift.Â
Lorelei kept her mismatched eyes to her exposed feet, not because she struggled to lift the two buckets, but she was thinking of what she needed the rope for- What old sail rope she could replace the second she returned to her beloved sun fish.Â
Her thoughts were cut short when she collided into someone else walking in the opposite direction of her, bumping shoulders so that she stumbled off guard, dropping one of the buckets so that the spirals of rope flooded out, rolling downhill like spilled water.Â
Anti-Water [Lorelei&Liam]
Watching the girls deft movements, Liam smiled. She was impressive; though she must have been almost a foot shorter than him, Liam watched as she handled the boat with ease, an almost bored look on her face. When she had docked, Liam had taken a half step backâhe didnât really like the idea of getting wetâ but now took two steps forward.
"Thatâs a nice boat you have there." He spoke nonchalantly, as if he hadnât been watching her. Making sure there was space enough between there so they wouldnât accidentally touch, Liam looked at her, flashing her a very brief, strained smile, "Are you new? Iâm LiamâŠI own a shop in downtown."
Her mind went quiet as she looked around, as if the creatures of the ocean had fallen silent as she gazed upon the town, a thin layer of brine covering her feet from the salt of the ocean. The sailor hadn't even seen the man prior to his vocalization, her ears only listening to the distant sounds of spiraling waves crashing against sandy shores, and her eyes only gazing upon the area in front of her.Â
She blinked a few times before turning her head to one side of her, seeing no one, then turning it to the opposing direction to see the tall man, offering her a smile. The girl blinked a few times, as if taking in what he said before replying with a nod. "Ah- Thank you," Lorelie said in a hushed voice, soon realizing what she said may have not been heard by the stranger. She was about to repeat her words, but was interrupted by his question, then his introduction. New? That was one way to put it, although she still didn't know exactly why she was here, or for how long. "I-" Closing her lips before spitting out rambles, the sailor thought for a moment. "I suppose so." Giving a nod at his introduction, she silently mouthed his name, as if pronouncing it mutely to herself, looking down at her bare feet as she did, before her mis-matched eyes trailed back up at the man. "Liam? It's nice to meet you Liam."Â
Anti-Water [Lorelei&Liam]
Barefooted, but covered in a thick sweater and cargo shorts, Liam stood on the edge of the beach. He stood completely still, his eyes trained on the shoreline, watching the water rise and fall like a chest. Every time the tide would wash up, he would breath in, then out when the water rushed away from him. It was oddly relaxing, and lifted his low spirits.Â
Still breathing slowly, Liam was about to turn and leave the beach, when a small sailboat sailed past him, snaring his interest. Was someone new in town?Â
Humming to himself, Liam stuffed his hands in his pockets before following the wake it had left, hoping he could beat them to the dock.
ââ
Standing on the rough wood of the dock, Liam watched as a small framed girl expertly docked the boat. She was young looking, and had an odd, almost magical quality about herâbut that was probably because it had been so long since he had even seen another person.Â
Shaking his head at himself, Liam slowly approached the boat, keeping enough distance so as to not creep her out.
Although for the past sun pattern the sailor had stayed on her boat and gazed upon the unique town from afar, her eyes shielded behind the protective blue waves, the browned haired girl decided to look at the town up close today, the town the whispers of the ocean had told her to see: For what reason, she still didn't completely know, but if the voice of the sea wanted her to come here, it must've been for a purpose.Â
Pulling on the ropes of her sails, she hopped off the bow of the small ship with agility and onto the splintered dock, her long hair bouncing with her movements. Grabbing the ropes once again the second her exposed feet hit the scorching dock, heated from the bright rays of the sun, she held the boat in place, her expression somewhat blank, and bored. When the sunfish came to a halt, she bent down, kneeling on her tattered knees, red from pressure, tying some of its ropes to the dock, prior to bending down to quickly tie the knots, her fingers moving unbelievably quick as she went through the patterns of the ropes the sailor had done hundreds of times.Â
Checking the ropes one more time before standing up, the young woman brushed off her ripped jean shorts, looking at the boat, then turning her multicolored eyes towards the town. "So this is the place- The one you were talking about?" The sailor mumbled, subconsciously tying the extra rope she had cut to her belt. "It's awfully pretty-"
