After a very long period of putting it off I watched Candyman today. For those of you that haven't seen it yet it's definitely worth a watch, if you like slasher films then this film is for you. Released in 1992 the story follows Helen Lyle who is putting together her thesis on urban legends. The urban legend she is researching is of you guessed it, the Candyman. The legend is similar of that to Bloody Mary, you say his name five times into a mirror and he comes to fuck your shit up with his hook hand. So Helen and her thesis partner Bernadette begin to delve deeper and deeper in to the mythology behind the Candyman. Without giving away too much of the plot they jokingly say his name in to a mirror five times and he doesn't appear, but Helen doesn't know what terror she unleashed. After watching Candyman today it was definitely as good as I hoped it would be, but it didn't exactly play out exactly how I thought it would. The story is pretty solid and it had a decent amount of gore leaving just enough to the imagination to give you some horrible mental visuals. Although this film is 23 years old I would say it more than holds its own today and manages to stay true to the slasher genre, changing just enough of the formula to keep it fresh after the birth and boom of the genre in the 1980's. All in all Candyman is an awesome horror film that will keep you glued to the edge of your seat and won't lose your attention. A must watch for horror fans and an example of the slasher genre executed well, I give Candyman 8/10 stars and a re watch in the near future.

Friday 10th July

Seems like you're mad at me, but you only started being off when you had to go to the hospital. I told you I had been taxed a fair bit on my wages Wednesday and it seemed to get worse. I don't know what's going on but you can't take it out on me. I made sure you got to the hospital on Tuesday and it's not my fault I got taxed so much. Realise that when its me being off with you because something's bothering me you go off on one about how I shouldn't take it out on you. The same courtesy would be appreciated when it's not me you're really mad at.

Thursday 2nd june

To me it seems like some people can't help but sabotage themselves 24/7. If you need a house mate so that you can afford your bills you need to think smart so you don't fuck the situation up. When you have needed the money the 5 years you have been living in said house and had around 10 house mates that says something about you not the people that you have had living with you. Granted not every one was a gem but Dave myself and your new housemate all paid on time and gave you no hassle, you created the situations and couldn't deal with the consequences. Don't come crying to me when everything fucks up this time, I have no sympathy for you cuz you shouldn't have lead ether of the girls on.

2nd night of NOFX and alkaline trio at the Birmingham O2 which should be good, NOFX will be doing punk in drublic in full which should be good to watch. Hopefully I can get some pictures tonight.

It's time to make some drastic changes before I completely destroy everything that I want. Depression is fucking hard, but I have someone who loves and supports me to help me get through it. I just need to make some fast changes now so I don't lose her.

Ambers band had their second gig last night. I'm really proud of her and the band for how quickly they are coming along, even more so for Amber because I know how hard it can be for girls in music at the level we are at. She also tears it up on stage and gives 100% in her performance so she is really good to watch.
