Rick's portal was blue before he got Morty
A Rick and Morty portal is Green. Blue + Yellow same as on their shirts
And evil Mortu goes through a portal to a world where Rick isn't the smartest so take blue out of green you got yellow aka a Morty Portal!
Rick and Morty 4x5
see you space beth....
i liked the episode but my absolute favorite moment is when rick is throwing morty through portals and he accidentally lets him hit the ground
One week down, five to go
Two weeks down, four to go
shoutout to this very specific facial expression for making me fall in love with a fictional elderly alcoholic this show is ruining my life
you know, if you would have told me that
âwelcome to life! itâs a big boat with a lot of holes, but weâre all in it together.â
was a quote from rick sanchez before s6, i wouldnât have believed you.
his character progression is truly astounding.
he meant that.
iâm proud of him.
In the Roy episode this season, I really thought about why when morty asked Rick to say I love you that he hesitated. Heâs said it before, in the episode mortyâs mind blowers, he said it without being promoted and without any hesitation. His motivation for saying it would have been the same as in this situation, to save mortyâs life. So why wouldnât he just say it? But then I remember Rickâs encounter with the ghost of Diane, and what Rick himself has said in multiple ways to himself and others, that he has to remember what happened to the people he loved and cared about deeply. And what continues to happen to those around him that he chooses to love and hold closest to him: Beth, Diane, morty, bird person, etc. They all suffer. And then I realize part of the reason why he hesitated, and then I get really sad.
HEY RICK AND MORTY BLOGS
Iâve been gone for so long most of my mutuals are IA. I need new active Rick and Morty blogs to follow! Please reblog, like or follow if you are an active R&M account! (If you ship Rick and morty or any of the other family members together please DO NOT interact)
I love in S5 how Morty is so aware of Rickâs (neurodivergent) quirks
Like in the Go-Tron Ferret episode when he tells Rick heâs getting too obsessed and it turns out that Rick has explicitly told Morty to tell him if/when this happens?
Also in the crows episode when Morty ages himself up and Rick fully accepts that heâs been gone for decades - Morty mustâve known this. He knows Rick will be so obsessed with his new special interest/hyperfixation that heâll have no idea how much time has passed to the extent that heâll believe itâs been decades instead of (presumably) months.
Whatâs up mother fuckers Iâm backkkkkkk. Finished the first half of the new season, eagerly waiting for more
Toxic fans: Itâs a show about how nothing matters and nihilism and how he doesnât care about anyone!
Actual show: The universe is vast and dark and cruel, but your loved ones and friends are what make it worthwhile and worth living.
âI was like, âWhy would that be the case? Why would any parents let this crazy man disappear through clearly dangerous portals with their son?â And after talking about it with Justin for a while, I realized the most important thing about that show for me which is that Rick left at one point in Bethâs childhood and Beth blamed her mother for Rickâs absence. Kids can sometimes idolize their worst parent and blame their supportive parent for chasing off the dad with the guts to leave. Sometimes they donât even admit it to themselves but they say, âMy dadâs so fucking cool, he got the fuck out of here. And my momâs such a bitch sheâs always asking me to clean my room. Thatâs why dad left. She probably asked him to clean his room.â And in Bethâs case, sheâs a horse heart surgeon. Sheâs not a real surgeon. Sheâs a horse heart surgeon because she got pregnant at 17. And she fetishizes exceptionality. She believes that Rick, as crazy as he is, is the better of her two parents even though she was raised by her mother and she blames her motherâs unremarkability on her fatherâs departure and will do anything to keep her father back in her life. And if Morty needs to risk his life traipsing across the galaxy with her insane alcoholic father, itâs better than Morty growing up in safety and ending up like her mother or her husband Jerry who she considers to be unremarkable and unredemptive and therefore undeserving of her affections. So the center of the show, even though we donât address it at all, is this really fucked up woman who I love more than any character on that show because she would have been a brain surgeon, but she got pregnant at 17, and so sheâs defensive about how sheâs a horse heart surgeon because it takes less school to do that. And sheâs selfish and sheâs cold but sheâs smart. She wears the pants in the family and sheâs witty and she doesnât like herself. She bothers to love her father and that keeps everything feasible because otherwise it would all fall apart. Youâd go, âWhy wouldnât anyone say, âStop doing that! Stop taking my son on these adventures!â?â The answer is because Jerry is terrified that Beth will leave him and Beth is terrified that Rick will leave her. And round and round we go. And so we have this beautiful suspension that could provide us with hundreds of episodes.â

-Dan Harmon, on Beth.

This scene plays so differently when you learn that Rick never actually abandoned his daughter...and yet, he still feels like shit when he hears her say that.
Ugh also if you pair it with the theory that he murdered her original Rick. Haunting.
