I googled my name today. Ego-searching, so to speak. I saw that a lot of my remarks in the past two weeks had gained a lot of momentum with news sites. Though I'm thankful because on the other hand, I learned I should be careful and reflect [on my words]. But among them, there was a story that made me laugh saying that I had been getting 1000 yen haircuts up until three years ago. I'm sorry, but there seems to be a mistake. 【AKB48 Janken Tournament】 This year they’re implementing a system where members can enter as a unit. I will be in a two person unit with NGT48's Ogino Yuka! In Ogiyuka’s Showroom regarding the unit selection, she said, “When I joined NGT I said "I want to exceed Suda Akari." I've received a lot of influence as an idol from Suda-san, and now we're in senbatsu together. I chose Suda-san because I want to win with her.“

It’s pretty well known that Dasu is one of Ogiyuka’s favorite 48 members, and Dasu mentioned in her own Showroom that she considered Ogiyuka to be one of the most impressive members of her draft pool. Good luck to the 5th and 6th place members. ❀

Even now, if you do a web search for Suda Akari, results like, “Why’s she popular?” appear. And the next result is, “Not cute.” Taken all together, people’s opinions are, “Why is Suda Akari so popular when she’s not cute?”

Most likely, I think people watching TV at home are thinking the same thing? However, I’m really happy to hear your doubts.

It might just be me, but I’m very happy if you come to have an interest in the 48-groups because of Suda Akari.

Therefore, it’s my personal belief that when your doubts are cleared, your faults will become your strength. In the past, I thought that it was better to have no faults or complexes.

But as part of this group, my thinking changed, especially this past year. To the people you should be meeting, I realized your faults will help you. You might get beaten up bad. There are good things and bad things, and I think that’s led me to this #6 position.

This year, I released a book called “From ugly to Kami 7” (maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned that). Me seeming negative and being able to become positive is because of my fans.

I’ve said a lot about looks, and I think Sashihara Rino has opened up a new path. Being popular is not just about appearance, and I really respect being able to make that a goal.

Keeping in mind that Sasshi won’t be here next year, I hope to inherit all your expectations in that regard. I’ve got a long way to go, but I want to aim for the top.

To make the fundraising process easier for overseas fans and to help her achieve her goal of ranking 5th this year, Dasu’s sousenkyo committee has opened up a Paypal for donations towards votes! This way, you can save money without having to buy a CD. Last year they were able to raise enough for around 15,000 votes.
