[Calling - Sue]: “I’ll keep it open.” He still had to speak to Ben, but had wanted to see Sue before he went to Johnny. He could wait, even if he didn’t want to. It was his own doing. “If you need anything, give me a call.” Not that he imagined she’d be needing anything at all, certainly not from him, but he was in the city. He could be there. “I won’t keep you any longer. We’ll talk soon. Goodbye, Sue.” 

[ CALL INCOMING... REED ]: Susan ran a hand over her face and resisted the urge to sigh. It wasn’t a question of whether or not she still loved him; of course she did. She didn’t think she could ever stop, not that she really wanted to. She just hurt. A nod came through her voice and the faintest curl of a smile. “I will,” she inhaled sharply; her brows were furrowed and the flash of longing lingered over her expression. “Bye, Reed.” The line went silent, then, and the phone found solace in the crook of her palm, her gaze fixed to the swaying palms outside her window.
