Where are my posts?
“ It is the good girls who keep the diaries; the bad girls never have the time. ” — Tallulah Bankhead Something like that.
Small things in life make a difference :)
Go on and close the curtains Cause all we need is candle light
Cosy nights back in Heidelberg
Those little things...
...around holidays make me feel cosy. 2 hours of peace above the butter-caramel fields.
Rainy Advent thoughts
I really like these unexplainable feelings coming around randomly, blocking the nerve system. I feel it is is Christmas, because I want to be on the top of Normafa. Makes sense? Not really.
Or maybe yes. Sipping mulled wine while wrapped in scarf and coat, and just want to look at Budapest from the peaceful hilltop freezing from the cold, breathe in icy air bites, and watch my breath which escapes with clouds towards the sky.
Time flies
Such a huge, boring, grey cliche, but time does flies. This week German became a secret language between me and my boss, and made a basis for a bunch of jokes. Friday proved it again: laughing and smiling at work is one of the most important things in order to find your balance, gamechanger in the long-run, and daychanger in short term. Appreciation lvl 1000. To be a Rahel recently feels especially cosy if I use the new filters I developed for everyday life.
Autumn is the new spring. You mad bro?!
Unexpectedly, from one day to another it turned into windy September. Funny how you don’t even notice it, but when the calendar strikes you check upon the leaves above your head walking home on the longer way. Taking the usual steps, turning right on the corner and walk along your street, until you hit the heart of the city. From there it is really just a blink to get along the river for some comfort and to confirm the status of this fall.
The smell of the dusk breeze usually tells the truth, and again, there was no exception this time. Here we go again, the fall has already conquered my fairytale town, and however everything is trying to hide the fact, there is no escape. Taking into consideration my experiences so far, it is a good thing. There was always a new chapter starting in autumn for me, even after the student years. Autumn is the new spring!! Another crossing, got the green light, make your choice. :)
I moved in my first flat in Germany exactly a year ago, and it makes me think about last year. How much can we compress into a year? It is incredible! My 2013.zip looks amazing, and now it feels a bit like I have lived 2 years in 1. First of all thanks to the people around me, and then it comes to the silly life, with all the opportunites it casually dropped in front of me with a light-headed “Do whatever you want with it” statement. As no party ever started with two big heads of lettuce, so does no opportunity ever became an unforgettable challenge and memory without taking some risks. Let the game begin. Again! :)
Cozy-fying the nest
Luckily I can tell you that day by day I feel more like home in my new place. New pieces of furniture/household/deco pop up from one day to the other in different corners, but this is not the best about it.
My friends are always around (and luckily for a while also my family), which makes it the coziest place in my small world in Germany.
We laugh, eat, hug and talk, and these bright moments turn it magically into something special, they bring out the hidden spark out of the dark. I wanted to have a place which I can call home, to put all my stupid things and taste into it, but the best part is sharing this with family and friends. My parents visited me this weekend and I was happy and proud to introduce them to my flat, and also give a shelter during their stay. It is such a warm and good feeling, when you are able to give back something in response for all that love, support and caring got so far.
Mi casa es tu casa, everybody is welcome, and thank you ALL to enable my flat to be called HOME.
The day has come… I am jumpingly happy to announce I have received the contract for my new home.
What I was waiting for so long, is reality now. With this, a bit scary but exciting feeling is teasing me, the capricious spring has moved into my stomach and I can’t help the feeling, it spreads until the last cells and makes me smile.
To complete the big picture, one of my best friends also got a decision which makes him a walking happiness factory. People say a problem shared a problem halved. For happiness I’d say joy shared happiness doubled (or exponentially exploded).
Count your blessings and then even if the sunshine is hiding behind the clouds, you will find spring with fresh hopes and dreams in yourself.
And for today nothing more left just… ‘wawe&smile!’
Why we only need the light when it's burning low/ Only miss the sun when it starts to snow?
Are you a furious angrybird? Just don't.
Timemachine is ON, as I promised I share the other perspective of the apartmenthunt story.
Back 2 weeks I am sitting in this weird but friendly kitchen with these chillers, over a cup of coffee and the smoke, which is so solid you could cut it, covers us as a big blanket.
They were asking about my previous experience with the flats and after telling them some of my stories, I asked back. How is it for you guys to have visitors all day in your place, asking stupid questions, making faces over the room/furniture/neighborhood/air pollution/and their pain in the hair.
Well, well, well... You are really young guys (me and the bulgarian freshman), but at least you are not brought by your parents here to assist in the "flatinterview".
Say what? Are you serious?
Yes. To protect their Precious and to be sure that they will have the appropriate studying environment (peaceful co-mieters, no suspect of party-wg), parents do go sometimes with their children even until the age of 22 (!!!). In my potential roomies' case unluckily they had such a bad experience, as they would never ever win the "eminent student's most suitable co-mieters" prize. They got bullied and looked down on.
After imagining this situation from their point of view, I felt much sympathy for them, and for a while I forgot about all my complaints. They also don't have an easy round. They have to cope with (sometimes) arrogant, boring, annoying candidates, and if it is not enough, you also get even some more "support" -from the complaint side.
This reminded me again, that I should always take into consideration the other side, and use my empathy. If you are on the edge to explode and you are worse than a furious angrybird, should remember this. Maybe even better than counting to 10. :)
Grab your ass and move out of it today (yesterday)!
