You stood before the full-length mirror with your deep brown eyes locked on yourself, eyelids layered with snow-white eye shadow and your hands holding the bouquet of flowers, a wave of happiness washed over you. The four walls surrounding painted chocolate brown, and the scent of mint candles filled the room, blending memories with your present reality.
But still you were nervous about all of this, but your eyes flickered your best friends Juno and Kiana. They were there for you every step of the way, through the good and the bad.
Your sported a white knee-length dress that hugged your figure perfectly, delicate lace detailing accentuating your curves. Your fingernails and toenails are painted in the same color, heels of white like freshly fallen snow. With each moment, the anticipation grew, heart thundering in your chest.
Your black hair styled in pixie hair cut cascaded down your neck, a small diamond earrings shone in your ears.
“Are you ready for your special day beautiful?” Juno asked with a smile.
“Yes, I'm ready, I can't believe that I'm gonna be Ms. Richmond, let’s do this,” You exclaimed with confidence.
“I'm ready for your day too, oh shit, the trips, the foods. Living the soft life,” Kiana chimed in, a grin on her face.
You chuckled lightly at the sight of them, “Yes, let’s make it a day to remember,” you said, feeling a rush of excitement as you turned towards the door, ready to step into.
You walked out of the room, feeling the cool breeze of the hallway brush against your skin. Hearing your favorite song Miguel’s “Sure Thing” begin to play softly in the distance, you paused for a moment.
Your bridesmaids walked in a synchronized fashion down the aisle with Terry’s best cousin and best friend Mike and Roland, their white floral dresses swaying elegantly with each step.
Your deep brown eyes spotted Terry dressed in a sleek black tuxedo, the tie tucked in, standing at the altar with a look of awe on his face. The priest smiled warmly and her brown skin shined prettily.
As you began walking down the aisle, a sense of calm washed over you. Those eyes of his were memorizing.
He was everything you had ever dreamed of and more. His smile radiated warmth, and as you approached the altar, you could see the love and admiration written all over his face.
“Terry,” you whispered as you reached him, your heart racing.
“Hey there, beautiful,” he replied, his voice smooth and deep, making your stomach flutter.
You felt your cheeks warm at his compliment, and as the priest began the ceremony, you sole glances at him.
“Let’s get this party started, huh?” Terry joked, breaking the slightly tense silence that surrounded the moment. “I mean, we’ve got a whole reception to tear up.”
You laughed softly, shaking your head. “Only you would think about the party right now, Richmond.”
“Can you blame me? It’s not every day I get to marry the love of my life,” he said, his expression growing serious. “You’re my forever, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my days with you.”
As the priest continued, your mind wandered back to the first time you met Terry, how his charisma had captivated you, the way he made you feel so special and cherished.
“Terry, the moment you came into my life. I didn't expect you to choose me, and make me so happy, you've defended me, loved me and done so much that I can appreciate,”
And then it was Terry’s turn.
“Y/N, when I laid my eyes on you in the office. I knew that you were the one I wanted to spend my life with. You've challenged me, inspired me, and shown me what it means to truly love someone.” Terry said, kissing your hands.
Tears brimmed in your eyes, and you swallowed hard, ready to respond. “I vow to always be your partner, to uplift you and share in your dreams. I promise to be your safe haven and to love you fiercely, every single day.”
As you exchanged rings, the world around you faded once more. It was just you and him, two souls intertwined, ready to embark on this beautiful journey together.
The priest pronounced you husband and wife, and Terry pulled you close, a playful grin spreading across his face. “You ready for this, Mrs. Richmond?”
“I’ve never been more ready for anything in my life,” you replied, laughter bubbling up as he leaned in to kiss you, sealing your vows with a promise of forever.
The crowd erupted into cheers, and as you pulled away, you could see the joy in your friends’ faces. Juno and Kiana were clapping, their eyes bright with pride and happiness for you.
“Let’s go celebrate!” Terry shouted, grabbing your hand as you both turned to face your loved ones, excitement buzzing in the air.
Hand in hand, you walked down the aisle, and into the spacious room awaiting you—a celebration brimming with love, laughter, and music just beginning to play.
Everyone that you loved sat in a different seats at other tables, you and Terry sat at the center table, just beneath the twinkle of fairy lights, where the two drank wine.
You cupped Terry’s face and kissed him sloppily, your moand muffled by your husband kissing back. The food finally arrived and the settle in for the feast.
You pulled away once your favorite song played, and the two of you got up from the table, onto the dance floor.
You grabbed Terry’s hands and he wrapped his arm around your waist, slow dancing under the soft glow of the lights. Looking up at the man, you almost forgot how tall he was.
“I love you Mrs. Richmond,” Terry said, pressing his forehead against yours as the music swirled around you, the moment feeling perfect and timeless.
The room seemed to melt away, leaving just the two of you in your magical, shared world.
“I love you too, Mr. Richmond,” You whispered back, lost in the warmth of his gaze and the rhythm of your heartbeats in sync, swaying gently together as if nothing else.
You pulled him in for a slow, passionate kiss, “I'm so happy,” you mumbled in a drunk tone.
Once the ceremony was over, you and Terry were officially husband and wife, as your friends threw petals at you, and walked out of the building. The uproarious cheer from the guests.
Terry opened the car door for you, as you settled inside of the backseat , surrounded by clusters of white rose petals still caught in hair. Terry joined you in the backseat, as the car peeled away from the buildings.
The “Just Married” sign fluttered proudly at the rear, swinging gently to the rhythm of the car's motion.
This was the beginning of something beautiful with Terry and you couldn't wait to open the chapter.
