they seem nervous to be seen in public or go in places with cameras. despite this, they're trying to take on the gym challenge. they wear a lot of face masks and have a lot of fake IDs

the more powerful the demon the more animalistic it becomes

Tormentor: basic grunt demon. they are assigned to one of the seven rings (based on the seven deadly sins bc im basic) and their job is to carry out punishments. the line down their middle is the opening to a mouth. they don't even technically have a second form, they just fold themselves inside out

Messenger: same as with angels pretty much they just also have the mouth thing

Soldier: usually serve as direct second-in-commands to overseers. the demon soul-reaper is good friends with ashrael

Overseer: there are only seven demon overseers. they appear as giant animals with huge scorpion stingers. the venom has different effects depending on the overseer

here are how angels work

the more powerful the angel the more humanoid it appears to souls

(angels and demons both appear differently when being viewed by a mortal or a dead soul. they can change between forms at will but there are defaults)

all angels regardless of role have halos

Companions: basic animal-like angels which serve as companions and caretakers for souls in heaven. they are sapient, they just look like animals. usually have wings, but not always

Messengers: straightforward. they collect info on earth and hell and spread it to other angels. usually have hooves and feathers. always have wings

Soldiers: what ashrael and uriel are. they carry out tasks given to them by overseers. this can be war/battle but not always, for example ashrael's job is to collect dead souls from earth. usually have wings and/or a tail but not always. always have a ruff of feathers around their neck

Overseers: the closest to "god." they give orders to the other angels. they appear as humans, usually with multiple eyes, always with wings. there are only seven overseers, based on the seven heavenly virtues

overseers only have two actually visible eyes, those being on their top set of wings, the rest are hidden behind wings within wings within wings within wings

soldiers are masses of feathers with sharp needle-like limbs sticking out

messengers have more eyes than any other type so they can take in information

companions are just kind of weird idk

a poem drawing i found in my closet

All my life I have wished for rest, for solitude, for some goddamn respect But everywhere I go is just more stupid jerks Who see me as a thing. I am not a thing. I'm no person, but I'm more than that.

I have grown to despise the people I meet. They do not understand me and they refuse to try. I am a strange wild thing, declawed and muzzled, so as not to cause 'discomfort.' I must torture myself so I will be 'palatable' and 'lovable' for people I do not want to be palated or loved by.

I don't understand when they force me into the shape they claim to love, why do they still treat me with such visceral hate? I must bow my head and play nice for the ones who would see me dead. All they want is for me to not exist.
