I'm bored so I'm gonna do a massive loredump on my ocverse (name pending bc idk what to call it).
DISCLAIMER: This isn't set in stone and may be subject to change so I either might edit this post or make a whole new one.
Pantheon:
There exist many gods and goddesses that have created everything and have been the inspiration behind the world's mythologies. These beings, like most gods, are neither good nor evil. They view their creations kind of like characters in a story they are all collectively writing, though they try not to step on anyone's toes when it comes to their portions of writing, but they balance each other out.
Madera: The mother god and creator of the universe.
Univos: God of life and creation.
Morsdomine: Goddess of death and destruction and sister of Univos.
Soliela: Goddess of the sun and love.
Lune: God of the moon, melancholy, husband of Soliela and creator of vampires.
Galactea and Astra: Twin daughters of Lune and Soliela and goddesses of stars and twilight.
Caldera: Goddess of magic and mother of monsters and myths
Aquilo: God of the weather and loving (if henpecked) husband of Caldera.
Acacia: Goddess of nature and beauty.
Brood of Sin: Children of Morsdomine that embody humanity's evils. Consists of Lust, Greed, Pride, Sloth, Envy, and Gluttony.
Children of Virtue: The counterparts made to keep them in check. Consists of Chastity, Charity, Humility, Diligence, Kindness, Patience, and Temperance.
Species:
These are gonna be brief summaries and may get their own in depth entries.
Humans: Yeah. Not much to say here.
Magiks: Humans either descended from a magical bloodline or who practice magic. Those with magic blood often have unnatural eye or skin colors while practitioners just look like people. While some may be more predisposed to a particular magic, they are pretty flexible with the types they practice. Magiks can channel their spells through objects like wands, staffs, or other such things. They can also have familiars that act as personal guardians or spies. There are also magiks that can only access magic and spells if they own a powerful object like a spell book or maybe a mask (hehehe). Their cultures can also inform how they practice magic.
Ultra Humans: Humans with a gene cause by alien experimentation during paleolithic times. People with this gene have the likelihood of developing superhuman abilities either from birth, during puberty, or when they reach adulthood. Though, full activation of the gene does have to be triggered first, otherwise most just have occasional power bursts and nothing else. The way the triggers function is not well understood, but the most common is in an instance where the individual is in extreme danger with occasional outliers. When the mutation is triggered, individuals will develop powers either related or unrelated to the trigger (and also weaknesses in accordance to their powers) along with physical changes like a change in eye color, hair color, skin color, changes to internal and/or external body structure (new appendages, organs, and the like).
Monsters: Nonhuman beings created by magic or human means. Monsters belong in two groups consisting of sapients and nonsapients.
Sapients are closer to humans in terms of morality and mindset where they can also be kind, mean, evil, good, and complex. These kinds are happy to stay in their lane and avoid interacting with humans if they can help it, though they have started intergrating into society.
Nonsapients are basically just animals with magic powers. And much like animals, they are either docile, domestic, or viscous predetors.
Vampires: While a monster category, they do have their own complexities and are the closest to humans in terms of genetics and history. The reason they exist is because Lune got jealous of the amount of attention everyone else was getting from their worshippers and decided to make nocturnal humans to worship him 24/7. Too bad Univos found out and curses his humans to be blood sucking monsters to punish him for trying to overstep. Vampires don't actually hunt humans due to finding it too close to cannibalism (and they prefer to keep to themselves) and it being extremely addictive. Vampires can come about either through a person with genetic predisposition dying in accordance to their region's belief (like a jiangshi/kyonshi being brought back with a talisman or being killed unjustly) or by being bitten. Will make separate post bc this is getting long.
Androids: Initially created to act as workers, but slowly became a part of society after an incident with one going rogue caused an overhaul with how the robotics company approached handling them. Androids are created and given to a host family to raise them and teach them how to be humans. Androids are designed to have as many human traits as modern tech can allow like being able to eat and digest for fuel (with their waste coming out in calcified blocks and exhaust that are extracted through a port in their back) among many things.
Antarcticans: A subspecies of human that evolved to withstand Antarctica's harsh conditions. Antarctican society is highly advanced with specialized technology for agriculture, combat, and housing. Antarticans come in various tribes and clans with their own economies and specialties and life there is quite peaceful with no inequality, poverty, or scarcity. Antarcticans were heavily isolated from humans for ages and even moreso after a brutal attack by humans that lead to an event called "The Great Melting" where their technology got stolen and several antarcticans were killed, including the chief, his son in law, and granddaughter (Selka is important here but I'll let you figure it out). While Antarcticans have slowly been less isolated over the years as they've been able to reconstruct from the disaster, they still tend to be wary of humans and have a strict Three Strike Rule if they are visiting as a precaution. Will also get a separate post someday.
There is more lore to be had but me tired.
