so i had your mishmash stylish theme on my old laptop which died and i had before found an ask you answered showing the code to make posts (like on the dashboard) more transparent and i tried finding it again and i cant so could you post the code again?

Quick update since I wrote one on my main blog as well, but this one will be a little different.

You must have noticed I completely disappeared from the scene and haven’t updated nor released a dashboard in months. Fact is that I got busy living my life and making dashboards, although it was a fun thing, wasn’t an activity I could nor wanted to make time for.

I am sorry if this affected the looks of your dashboard and if some things are odd or unusable but I really didn’t feel like bothering with this.

But fear not. I am not closing this sideblog nor ending this hobby. Many times I found myself wanting to try something new, or just a new design for a new anime and so on, so this is not over yet! But patience, my little followers, we need patience.

My laptop is really old and it takes a lot to create backgrounds and check codes and try out combinations and test layouts etc. so I think that if I ever get back at making dashboards it will be when I’ll buy a new laptop. I already got a new one a couple of months ago but it died after a day (I swear to you one day and it died, believe it or not I changed it with another one and it died as well), then some big projects came along and I had to use my money for those so the laptop has to wait a bit more.

In any case, this is the situation right now. I still think Mishmash is the best thing I could give you so I hope that will do for now.

I'm using the stylish layout, which I'm sure is different if you use a more different think to make custom dashboards

I meant which style, but they all probably have this problem, the name of the element must have changed. I can’t check it right now because chrome is playing hide and seek and shutting me out of my own account so the stylish extension is gone and I don’t have time to re-install and check now.

I’m busy -as you can see from the lack of updates- but if I can I’ll post how to fix it or update the style myself in the near future.

Just have patience I’m just so taken by other things I stopped paying attention to dashboards and I know it sucks but my laptop has been getting slower and slower as well so it doesn’t make things easier, I’m really sorry.

So, you can ask for help in the stylish forum (very helpful, they usually answer fast with the code to replace) or stand by and wait for this lazybutt. Cheers.

what size for the background image shoud we use?

Any size that fits your desktop -or bigger- should be fine.

I got a quick questiuon for the dashboard...how do you get the old blue tumblr background to be deleted from notifications and make them transparent??

Hi! Obviously I'm going to start off by saying your dash themes are super gorgeous????? <3333333 I originally used Winter Stars, which is darling, and then I found Red Nebula and I completely fell for it! I love it so much it's not even funny T~T But I'm having problems with the font colour for Red Nebula: the text for askbox replies & little user pop-ups became white, same as the white bg. The askbox is the main problem, I can't see what I'm writing. Has this been asked before? TQ!

I'm sorry to spam your inbox, I just wanted to add that those little 'Source' thingys that Tumblr puts on the bottom left hand corner (thereby messing up the tag conformation) also has the same problem. It's like 'Source: (can't see this text because it's white like the bg). Also, while I'm typing this ask, there's a little box next to my username ( ) that only shows the 'log out' when I hover, much like the user popup. Do you think it's related to the theme? I'm sorry for the successive asks!

Really glad to see my dashboards are still getting love, and I do know about all these problems simply because tumblr changed and I haven’t updated a single dashboard since January.

The reason is that I’m busy and since this is not my job but just an hobby, I decided to stop for a while. Can’t tell you when I’ll fix them but I’m sure that if you ask on the userstyles forum they can give you some tips, if they already haven’t (saw some open discussions on my themes, probably because of these same issues).

I hope this won’t let you down too much but I’m in the middle of some things in real life so I’m giving my attention to that. I hope you understand. <3

Hey! So I don't know if this is a common problem but whenever I hover over a button on your customizable theme it just turns white. I know that it didn't do that before I updated it, so I don't know what I did wrong. Please help! Thank you!

You mean on the sidebar? Because I've added the option to choose a background when you hover, maybe you gotta update that one choosing a better color (default is set to white so).

If it's about other buttons it might be because of the latest tumblr updates which I haven't had the possibility to check throughly so in case there's something to fix, I'll be able to do it in a few days not now. Sorry about that.

I found my answer and I learned how to do it by watching a tutorial in Youtube.. it was XKit. :3 But I'm still not familiar with that extension so I didn't change the theme in my dashboard. *^* I just got curious how you able to change the theme of dashboard xD And I was wondering if you are making tutorials about that kind of stuff >o< Since I like your styles ;;____;;

Aaah with xkit! That's a whole different story then, since I put my themes on userstyles.

Currently I'm not making tutorials, but I'm considering the idea for the future. Really glad you like them though, thanks. ^^

Hello again! I've tried what you said, but it still doesn't appear to be working... Now I click "install with stylish" and it gives me the same message? The box where I typed in "transparent" is outlined in red, if that makes a difference...? (I went ahead and found a solid-colour wallpaper to use instead, but if you think you know what happened I wouldn't mind hearing :) Thank you so much!)

Hmm... which browser do you use? Maybe it's because of that, because in this moment I really can't think of any reason why it's happening, I'm so sorry :c

Hello! I'm very sorry to bother you, but I have a question regarding "mishmash" - I'm trying to update it with a new PNG on the side, and I don't have a background image. I wrote "transparent" where the bg image URL goes like it says to, but I keep getting a message telling me to choose a value for every setting? Am I doing something wrong?

You're not bothering at all! 

I think that's not the problem, because you're inputting a value by writing "transparent" so that should be fine. Did you choose an option for all the other settings as well? If you do the whole list it should work .-.

Try also to delete the theme, refresh the userstyles page and install it all over again with your new settings, maybe that will solve the issue.
